Hey Jabbro!
I was just admiring your newest creation when I stumbled onto some files that look like cards in your Photobucket folder...
What game are they for?
They look pretty good!

I'm guessing HeroQuest, since they appear to be in a HeroQuest folder...

Aestelon is right. I have done a lot of modifications to HeroQuest after I rediscovered the game in the past year or so. I even have a couple of reinvented Game manuals and a huge Bestiary I created, with the help of some other members of the HQ internet community, to update the game to the HeroScape monster standards.

Having a complete set of replacement paper figs for HeroQuest is one of my goals, as I can tell yours. As cheesy as it sounds, that was my favorite dungeon crawl game of all time, I ended up dying SO much, even more than some of the youngsters I played with. What can I say, I play with daring, but not too much planning.
I have a massive folder full of all the extra material produced and Agin's Inn Heroquest site. Sadly I get so quickly distracted, and now with designing figures all the time, I leave myself with very little play time, nor do I have a group to play with, although I might be able to trick my boss into playing for research at work, wouldn't that be a hoot, payed to play. Cool. I have always loved it for the shear simplicity. It is easy to pick up and play and it is kindda like Risk, you can learn it in a few minutes but it can take hours of play time. Heh, I think Jim and I are in the same boat on the folder full of stuff. I had not planned on reproducing all the figures...I use Jim's Goblins, and Orcs and Skeletons, and Zombies... I have a substitute Fimir, Mummy and Gargoyle. Eventually I'd like to expand the Fimirs, so I may do them. Though the rest are not on my list. Probably should be, though. I think I may add a "Print and Play" games section to my website. I know I want to have figures and tiles for heroquest, battlemasters, space crusade, and a few others. having a page with the downloads would be cool. I'll add it to the list of things I want to do... JIM

Thanks a million for sharing your HQ stuff, jabbro. As an avid player of both HQ and Heroscape, I know that the bestiary will add a lot to both games. Now, if I only had minis for all of the creatures (hint, hint)

:raises hand: Big fan and avid collector of Hq/AdvHQ/WHQ! Those new manuals are AWESOME Jabbro. Thanks for sharing! I gave up on trying to get "official printed copies" of the Barbarian, Elf & Wizard expansions when I saw the absorbidant prices on E-Bay. In some cases each more expensive than the entire WHQ Boxed set alone. Luckily I was able to find entire scanned packages of the missing expansions. And I bought the old GW Plastic Wizards collection for the Wizards of Morcar expansion and WHQ expansion characters. And can use my minis & paper figures from GW & OneMonk...and of course now your excellent Frozen Hordes figures. I've built my own HQ board slightly enlarged to allow wiggly room. And enlarged and cleaned the expansion set tiles for play on it. And I also have all the various and sundry collections both old and new for HQ tiles & quests. Though I never purchased any of the Home-Brew expansions sold on e-bay. A few years back, when I really got heavy into Paper models, I printed entire sets of props(WWG mostly) for use with the game. And played all but a few quests from the original book & 1st two expansions...before getting a little burnt out on the over-simple mechanics. But it makes a great intro game for would be RPG'ers and Boardgamers a like. I tend to prefer playing WHQ now a days.(or Descent) That said, the expanded rules in the posted manuals will most likely have me pulling the game back out and playing the Barbarian Expansion with the new Jabbro paper minis. Besides I owe you some photos of them in play...! Thanks for rekindling my interest. Or curse you for yet another added distraction. ~F

Floyd, Glad to have provided you with something more to have fun with. One of these days I might get around to taking a picture of my setup. I added tiles to the game for Body, Mind, and magic counters, kindda like Descent and implemented a colored ball shaker as a randomizer for the order of play (Reminiscent of DarkWorld). It all works out quite well. One of these days, though I want to incorporate the WHQ tile system and random encounters. That would probably take all the Role play out of it entirely and make it too much of a hack-n-slash, but the original quests were geared more toward that anyway.

Now, if I only had minis for all of the creatures (hint, hint) It will be a long time before I can get all those created. At least you can have fun with the ones already there.

That game plays like a video game with the respawns and the competitive game-play... It was an ok game. I loved the board and the hidden treasure boxes. I wish I could have gotten copies of the 2 expansions when they were available. There was a random game (Random Quest) available online a while back for HQ that incorporated elements of WHQ. ~F

I have a copy of the Random Quest stuff. It was well done, but I like Tonsha's Square random floor tiles better.

When I tried to look at your player manual, it said "invalid file." The other two d/l just fine.

I too, think this is worthwhile... as I've never played Hero Quest before (I know!) but now after reading through the rules books and the SWEET, SWEET bestiary... I want to now!
All we need now are quests!

Yup, Hasbro bought the IP shortly before they made their HeroScape stuff. That is why the two games look strangely familiar. They have all the old manuals on their Customer Service site. Tugunmojo, try the file again. I just checked and it should be there. If you're still having trouble PM me and maybe I can repost it somewhere different for you.

It worked this time--nice work, really did a serious expansion to the game. Will look over it in more detail when I have the time.
Thanks!

Yup, Hasbro bought the IP shortly before they made their HeroScape stuff. That is why the two games look strangely familiar. They have all the old manuals on their Customer Service site. I'm suprised they could post the manuals like that. I could have sworn all the art and at least a few of the figs are GW property, like the chaos warrior, chaos sorceror, fimir (AFAIK this game was the only way to get a model for a fimir), and the gargoyle looked strangely like a bloodthirster. It was a shame I lost all the figs for my copy a few years before getting into gaming long ago. I had taken them over to a friends house to use with a DND board game he had, and lost contact with the guy shortly after...

Try searching Google for Hasbro Instruction Manuals, or take everything off the link up to the Customer Service and then click on the Instructions menu...There are tons of them so it is not as easy as using the page link.
Best of Luck, Godofrandomness. ;D

Try link again, GOR - like I said, it worked fine for me and took me straight to the page with the BM link on it. If it doesn't work, Jabbro's is a good suggestion. Copy and paste the link, and remove everthing after "customer-service/". That'll take you to a menu of customer service options. Click on "Toy & Game Instructions, then select the B list. There's a lot of them, but if you click to show 50 items a page and go to page 5, it's about halfway down. This should be where you end up.
