Let me thank Jim for giving us a nice push to start making figures, I hope we weren't much of a bother. Beau for test printing, and Jabbro for helping me putting this pdf together for RPGNow and his support. Anita

Meant to say I love the use of layers to let you remove the text part - I print these at work ( ) so I'm not too worried about it myself but for anyone printing them at home, it's great to be able to save the ink on a chunk of text that doesn't need to be printed once you know how these things are assembled. Nice touch!

Does this mean you will be changing your username to "Anitaturtle"? ;D They print and cut great, Carmen and I already have played through one story with them where the skeleturtle was actually the Great Spotted Turtle and was sent on a quest by little Carmen to rescue her dog Tulip but was killed by the evil Cyborg Slaughterer and returned in skeleturtle form to ask the angels for help who summoned a giant squid that ate all of the Slaughterer's minions (except for the zombies, they taste bad, ptui!) and rescued Tulip. The skeleturtle, with the help of the angels has summoned mighty Grignak and all the other turtles to help him defeat the Slaughterer and be resurrected in his original form. This time though the Slaughterer has land-sharks and giant insects on his side. Stay tuned for more stories of the skeleturtle and friends.

Bob: We should praise Jabbro for that specific idea. My idea with the layers were only to put the outline under the same shape, and the recolors of them to save space. Layers in pdf only come with the recent acrobat reader, which I didn't know up until Dave made pretty buildings with many options.
I was trying to get Jabbro to make color variants --because the artist can do it easier working on the original file then people who are trying to mod it to their liking... though it might be fun. However he said that it'd make the file bloated. And I might agree on that aspect, the angel file with lots of options is huge-I am not so certain that the customers wouldn't prefer to have color options to begin with. What you guys think?

Well, I have to admit I'm a fan of multiple colour schemes, but the layers thing can make the file slow and cumbersome to work with (some of Dave's buildings suffer from this a little) - I'd much prefer just multiple pages with the alternate colour schemes on

These look really nice. The came out very well. And are beautifully colored. I like that you posed them so that the light comes from the same direction.
Well done Anita!

This time though the Slaughterer has land-sharks and giant insects on his side. Stay tuned for more stories of the skeleturtle and friends. I was giving some consideration recently (since GenCon) to designing a game to introduce youngsters to role-playing, when it struck me like a bolt out of the blue... kids don't need no introduction, nor no training, nor no steenkeeng rules to role-play. They were designed to do it. That's how they figure out who they want to be. It's adults who need to be trained to recapture this vital survival skill. I used to teach in a classical academy that considered knowledge in terms of the trivium; the grammar level (learning definitions through story, rote and repetition, about birth-6th grade), the dialectic level (learning to use rules to analyse and construct logical arguments, about 7th-9th grade), and the rhetoric level (learning to invent and express productive ideas for the guidance of human affairs through the use of curiosity, imagination and reason, about 10th grade and up). Rules are necessary only for dialectic level role-playing. Your children, squirmydad, don't need the kind of rules we associate with RPGs. They just play according to the models of living that have been set before them. However, people at the dialectic level DO need comprehensive and exhaustive rules, because they are learning how to construct a reasonable view of life on their own. Old fogeys like me don't use rules anymore, except when we want to. At the rhetoric level, a GM and her/his players can kitbash rules from different sets, or make up new rules, or roll dice to reach a non-precedent setting resolution... what ever the situation demands. And the rules become subservient once more to the story-telling. So... let that be a lesson to you, you young whippersnapper! Have fun! Steve

Those are the kinds of story shenanigans that go on behind my back when I'm working at home as the kids like to get out my toys and combine them with things I made for them. The story, with some piccies, continues; The turtles valiantly assault the At-At walker which only surrenders after it is commandeered by little Carmen and her Littlest Pet Shop allies. The little squid comes back from the dark side when it's dad appears and the angels chase evildoers out of the forest. Then it's naptime for everyone; Your biggest little fan;

Kids? Does it mean Carmen is not an only child? Does she have a brother? Carmen is so cute! And I'm honored to have a fan like her. I like littlest pet shop too, those figures are so adorable looking!
This is an interesting story, especially the "nappy time", those are missing from the RPGs we--adults play ;D
Steve and Emergencyoverride thanks for the comments!

I'm definitely not letting my daughter see this thread! She's got so much littlest petshop stuff it could overwhelm a Russian tank division!! It's bad enough that my terrain pieces end up as decoration in her playmobil zoo without her considering using my vehicles and stuff as transport for her animals. Mind you the space marines haven't had a tea party recently, perhaps they've suffered the wrath of the emperor. Great turtles by the way Anita! ;D

Well, you could lock up your things away from her if it bothered you that much, but where is the fun in that? Who knows what adventures will your marines get into with a horde of big headed doggies. ;D
