SWAN HOUSE Here's a funky little drinking establishment -- actually a brothel! This is a single-layered 30mm papercraft house. Extras include a hanging sign and a dormer window (on the opposite side), and some wooden supply crates. Model footprint is approximately 4.75" x 4.75". Ground tile is approximately 5.25" x 5.25". Height is approximately 8", not including the chimney.

This Swan House model has been staring at me for way too long. Publish me, Dave. That's what it's been saying. Here are some photos of the other models that are whispering to me. These will all be redesigned quite a bit before I publish them. I'll certainly change the windows and doors, but some of the features will stay in place. Here's a small gateway building. I'll probably mirror-image this, add a dormer or two, maybe increase the height of that structure on the far left or remove it entirely. * * * This one's essentially the same as the main part of the Crescent Moon Tavern. I might build on an extension, or just leave it as is. I really like the beam-work on this one, and I don't have any other freestanding buildings with quite these dimensions. It makes for a nice wide building that will work well facing a street. I might modify this one so that there's a third-story extension in the very center. That might be interesting. * * * Here's a large gateway. This is one of my favorite designs because the proportions seem to work so well. I'll change the bricks to some other color, and add some dormer windows to the roof to break up the monotony there. This one is whispering louder than the others. * * * This is a peculiar house with too many chimneys. It's kind of a short version of the Jumble House, with a cabin-sized extension on the front. I'm likely to lay bricks or stone on the ground floor and replace the timbers and plaster there. It needs more windows for sure. * * * This is the tallest model I've designed, but it's just a simple rectangle. It needs some external features. I'll probably add balconies and dormer windows, and maybe an external staircase.

The Swan House is really beautiful! Too bad it's a single layered file product, as my builds don't use the grass along the baseline. I really love the other models, especially the gateway buildings (both of them) and the "house with too many chimneys". Looking forward to them.

The Swan House is absolutely beautiful. I think it and the Gate House designs are really exceptional. The Gatehouse was actually the 1st of your models I built back when you had originally released them. It has been a center piece for a photo I've yet to finish(I was trying to build a waterway, bridge and fountain for the shot). But I think I'll wait till you release the new one. I was thinking about that 2 story rectangle building (the one that is part of the Crescent Moon structure) and I was thinking about what could be done to add even more visual interest (much like your new Dormers). And I thought an awning of sorts over the middle front window would be a simple yet effective way to do so. I also got a little carried away and made an example of the same building but with the upper story slightly enlarged to over-hang the lower part, much like you see in traditional Medieval structures. But you may be trying to stay away from thsi.. anyway I am much better at explaining myself visually... Great work. I cannot wait to get the entire set bought and built for many games of Mordheim & Song of Blades. ~Floyd

I like the gateways too, it'd be even better with some stone walls, a well, a courtyard tile, and a stables building for an Adventurers Inn setup.

Thanks, guys! Great suggestions. Floyd, thanks for the tri-fold awning pattern! That's handy.

These are all looking great - the Swan is just the place I want to unload my gold.... The awning idea has sparked another - Shutters. Most of your buildings come with shutters and that is great, keep them coming. My thought is the same shutter from the building that could be added/overlayed on the existing one to help the model "pop". Now I know it would be a "simple" mod for an end-user with PS or Gimp but it wouldn't take too much room to add some extras on the page for those of us to cut and paste. Me, I would like to mount them to mattboard and then glue them to the model lending a greater air of 3Dness. On the note of layers - I am not a fan as you know... but with regard to the base plate and grass - any chance of make that part layered? This way those of use WWG or Fat Dragon Tile sets can have the bases blend easier. Just a random thought. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood

Just joining the chorus on how good these all look, Dave, and thanks for the ground footprint data, very handy! Any chance this will be released by tomorrow? I could use it in my 4E game this weekend..... ;D
