I am mainly looking for Star Wars paper minis with fronts and backs. Ships would be nice too. I may try to make my own or my vision of the Star Wars universe. Could use some pointers on ships. I've got it planned out what I want to do with some packs.
How copyright friendly can I be? Can I make direct characters from Star Wars without someone lighting me up for copyright infringement or would making Star Wars-esque characters go over better? Shep did great work on Star Trek, there needs to be some Star Wars TLC. I am new to all this.

For your own personal use, anything is fair game. It is when you share, either for profit or not, that is where copyright comes into play. Have you looked at the momirfarooq minis? www.deviantart.com/momirfarooq Or Hisham's Hishgraphics? www.patreon.com/hishgraphicsThere is also a smattering on the forum here

I think the Thunderfighters are roughly 28mm scale that I posted in this section. I've posted a few links to others in other posts. Here's another, only large scale, though Erm, this one now goes to, what looks like a Japanese porn site. Not a complaint, just couldn't find any rocket ship model.

Sorry, but it was good when originally posted. Maybe squirmydad has a way to tell us how many posts there are in total and how many links, but my guess is that it is well over a dozen

It was the first time I have seen this thread, so was going through it from the beginning. Naturally, a lot of the 2011 links are now 404ed.

Just finished the new episode of Boba Fett and would love to include a sci fi train in a future game of Five Parsecs. Does anyone know of a suitable paper model?

Is it on rails, or are those lines the tracks of the wheels in the sand? In the scene of the wrecked train, it doesn't appear to be on rails. I haven't seen Lawrence of Arabia in a long time. Nice to see that scene updated

It is actually some type of hover. The subtitles call it a “long speeder” from the Tusken leader.

Something tells me that we weren't supposed to see the rails in that shot. Are there any images of the front and rear of the train? I didn't spend a lot of time on it, but did not see any.
My first guess for the cars is that you could lengthen one of the Sci Fi containers out there with the correct shape and then repaint as a quick and dirty method. That image I posted has a clear enough view to do a trapezoidal base to sit on (I guess that is the hover-unit). The end has enough of an image to design the end, and you have the top and sides clearly visible.
But I have no clue on the front and rear units

wonderboy, Did you want THIS train or would a generic Sci Fi train work? The Onager from Christopher Roe would be a fairly easy mod. Using the back end as a base, the back cabin could be squared off on both ends and extended from three panels to six, with doors in the first and sixth panels. On the square ends, do a mock-up of the ends from these cars. Then slap it onto a 'hover base'. The nose of the Onager could make a nice nose for the engine, if one creates a different base and slap three rockets on it

Not sure, but maybe it would be possible to assemble/build something near-to-needed/appropriate from these steampunk vehicles. I'm busy right now but could be possible to post hi-res components/parts, so elements of train/wagons could be easily removed, replaced and/or rescaled and recolored... EDIT: forgot to mention - these are 2D only...

I keep coming back and looking at this train. wonderboy, if you were interested in an Onager-based train, I think my snowed-in 3-day weekend may have you in luck. Due to my printer situation, test builds would have to be done by you. Losing the caterpillar tracks and fitting with hover bases, I think this could be a quick mod. The Longhauler Trailer, already has 6 full panels on each side, so I can just add the doors and windows, and then flatten the one sloped end. I would then do a mod of the Fett Long Speeder for the ends. The tractor from the Longhauler could then be shortened and narrowed (but put on a shorter wider base) and fitted out with some rockets. Even if you aren't interested, I might still do it

Sounds like a good approach. Happy to do some test building.

Here is a train/monorail I kitbashed together. Not quite what I am looking for, but getting close. I started with this kit on Wargamevault: link

Still snowed in today. Between phone calls and tonight I hope to get back to this. I am back to an Ebbles solution, but the starspeeder did offer an idea. On every stinking anti-grav hover vehicle I have in my collection, none have textured surfaces underneath. If Punkrabbitt were to build this, he would undoubtedly have the train wreck from above or something similar, so I was looking for ideas on what the underside would look like. I was really surprised that the Ghost of Man or the Goozi models were also pretty well blank underneath.

So I have some Xenomorphs from Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps, and would like to wrap some Hazard Stripes around the rim of the bases. Anyone know where I can find a pattern that would seamlessly wrap around a 25mm base? The bases are not sloped and are 3mm thick.
If my math is right, I'd basically need a hazard stripe that 2.5mm thick and 78.5 mm long that starts and stops on black (since that is the color of my bases.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think I would look for a 3d tire. One with a face and wrap-around tread. Re-size the whole thing so that the face is 25mm across. That should yield a tread that is the proper length. Make the width of the strip whatever you want and then re-texture the strip with your hazard pattern.
At least that is how I would do it

At least that is how I would do it I have never been successful at getting my edits to be the correct size when I print them out. Ever. For some reason when I print them, they shrink. So I've given up on editing things myself.
And yes, I've gone through just about every online guide I could find on how to edit paper models.

Did your printer accidentally get set to 'Fit to Page'?
