Lucy was born in 1911, so she would have been 65 in 1966, when Star Trek premiered as a production of Desilu Studios. If I recall correctly, ST was a Desilu show until Lucy sold Desilu to Paramount about halfway thru ST's run. Lucy was the head of Desilu at the time, having bought out her ex-husband Desi Arnaz (inventor of the three-camera format that has dominated situation comedy production right up to today). 1965 - 1911 = Yes, I've been watching the old shows on BBC America, and we finally hit the point where Desilu doesn't show in the credits Whoops, 1965-1911 = 55, not 65. My bad. My point was that her face in the image is younger than she was when Trek premiered, so the image had to be manipulated. According to Wikipedia, she died in 1989, at the age of 77, and her last attempt to star in a sitcom was Life with Lucy, which lasted two months in 1986, so she lived well beyond the initial run of Star Trek.

Of course is the pic a manip. As I said before there are flaws in the lighting and with the shadows, but most importantly, this is the original image that was used for the body... Finding it was pretty easy. It had to be a promo shot, which only exist of recurring characters. So, I had to search for a white female character in a red uniform. And since Janice Rand is the only person to fit this description... Nonetheless, the Lucy-manip is very well done, though not perfect.

Anyone might think this was just an excuse for showing a large version of the original image - but it's been a very elaborate plot lasting weeks, if so

Nah, it's rather about not being able to control the size when you insert images via URL...

Unrelated, but Yeoman Janice Rand is my dream Star Trek cosplay. I'm a 6'1" guy, so that beehive might take me close to 7' tall lol!

This reminds me of the bearded Sailor Moon I saw at an anime convention in the early 2000's... *lol*

Nice work, however, your d7's and Klingon BoPs are missing half of the parts and your Romulan BoP is way too small. It should be scaled to 3/4 the length of a Stormbird (Romulan D7)... Oh, and the Romulan insignia is wrong. TOS-era Romulans had this insignia on their ships:

Oh, and the Romulan insignia is wrong. TOS-era Romulans had this insignia on their ships: Thank you, shep. The missing pieces were for my own benefit, as I have no plans to use them when I assemble these guys. However, I have added them back in and will post them later for completeness. I wish to extend my gratitude for the proper Romulan logo, that was driving me crazy. There are many disagreements about the proper size of the Romulan BOP. I go for the "12 man crew, too small for warp travel" version, which from one drive pod to the other is just a little smaller than a Federation saucer. Of course, there are just as many valid arguments for the larger version, but I prefer the smaller. I really appreciate your feedback on these.

The best source for ship sizes is memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Main_PageThat's the "not-so-yet-mostly"-canon-page for Star Trek info, including all info on former RPG ship classes, too. That's really convenient...

I could do that, given I'll find some good orthos...

I could do that, given I'll find some good orthos... I'm not sure what an "ortho" is, but I have a good idea how to build the ship. I'll sit down at la computadora tonight and see what I can knock out. I think I can do a reasonable job with just three pieces.

After just a little research,it appears that at 1/5000, the Naruda would 63 inches or 160cm... so it will need to be a little smaller scale. More on this later.
EDIT: The Naruda is 30,737 feet long. To get that down to 10", the model would have to be 1/37000 scale... or more than 7 times smaller. At 1/20000 scale, it would be about 18" long. But at 1/37000, it will have the utility of being just 3 sheets of 8.5'x11' paper with no fiddly trying to do the "tentacles" in multiple pieces.

1/37000 Narada, vertical axis. This is still very much a work in progress, but gives you the general idea. It is about 10"/25cm long. It will also have a horizontal axis and an "x-wing"-style cross section.

It will also have a horizontal axis and an "x-wing"-style cross section. That's about how I would have done it. However, I might have gone with two vertical pieces and a horizontal cross-section, like I did on my Akira class (no photo yet)...

Hey folks! I pretty much just made an account to say thanks for all of these awesome paper minis. I am going to be running a few games of this soon and the minis really make it. Plus I just love papercraft. So thanks to all of you for doing all of this work for the love of the game. I really wish I could contribute, but I am not an artist etc.
