Do you know the mini game "Lasers & Feelings"? The one-page-PDF has all the rules to create a Trek-like game, including a quick-roll chart for adventure ideas. It's easily adjustable to any real Trek game. Perhaps it'll help you... onesevendesign.com/lasers_and_feelings_rpg.pdfThis is pretty cool, and I know why! As I was reading the rules, I was thinking..."Whoever wrote this has played Dungeon World...a lot." And I was right! Turns out the author is John Harper, designer of the fantastic RPG Blades in the Dark. Harper is a frequent YouTube collaborator with Adam Koebel, co-designer of Dungeon World. Their conversations about game design well worth watching.

One of my players has suggested a Far Trek/Gramma World X-over!! The premise is your ship has been assigned the Honorary duty of ferrying the Elderly UPF members of the Intergalactic Red-Hat Society to their Annual meeting. THis year it happens to be on Las-Vegas like space-station very near Orion space. The ladies are all Admirals wives, ex-diplomats and Planetary officials long since retired. These Ladies will be generated using the Gramma World RPG Rules. The game will be played as Far Trek with your current crew up until the point things go sideways! Then the players must handle the situation playing the Space-Gramma's. I think he has hit upon a fantastic idea here!! Let me know what you guys think or if you have any ideas to add to this!

I love the idea. In Trek world a retired admiral grandma would not be an impossability...

Turns out the author is John Harper, designer of the fantastic RPG Blades in the Dark. Harper is a frequent YouTube collaborator with Adam Koebel, co-designer of Dungeon World. Their conversations about game design well worth watching. You got milk? links? Here's one to start with: Adam and John discussing Adam's hack of John's Blades in the Dark. Adam's Office Hours series is a really good resource on next-level gamemastering, and pretty much any game he gamemasters is worth watching. I'm particularly fond of his second Stars Without Number campaign, Far Verona. Another excellent listen is his conversation with Stars Without Number designer Kevin Crawford. This is a great talk about indie RPG writing and publishing, as well as a discussion of the game. Not sure how I used a John Harper title to start talking about Adam Koebel, but there it is...

I am in charge of Free RPG Day this year at my local shop, and I decided I'm going to run a series of Short Far Trek scenarios for interested parties of up to six players. I know one of the Scenarios will be a Ship to Ship battle scene, I'm going to have a D6 chart to roll on for a random enemy ship. 1. Klingon D-7, 2. Romulan Bird-of-prey, 3. Tholian, 4. Orion Pirate, 5. Gorn cruiser, 6. Mysterious Alien. I'm looking for any ideas for short encounters for Planetside antics, any help is greatly appreciated! I will be posting pictures and a write-up of the days events. This all happens on June 15th 2019. This might also be helpful: 1.bp.blogspot.com/_WJi3EsxLgY8/SYNZco2BCaI/AAAAAAAABcA/waf2HpHGdUA/s1600/StarTrekAdventureChart.jpeg?fbclid=IwAR1VBvGw8ROBEeR7ocQrMAke0q-EmEXUjL56D-CTjnY4hExhQzELlhmQwrIYou can randoize the chart by rolling dice. Even = yes, odd = no...

My constructive criticism: 1) Admiral Granny needs droopier bobb. No self-respecting Gramma has a bobb job. 2) Starfleet Grammas #2 and #3 need shorter dresses. This is Starfleet, and no dress shall go below the fingertips. 3) Admiral Granny could do with a short-dress version instead of shirt and pants. Once that is done, they are all set for a scary hentai-themed encounter with the octopads from okumarts o.0 But seriously, I will be delighted to do these modes myself, I need *something* for this month's Hoard...

(1) Ever heard of a corselet? It's what Admiral Granny would wear underneath her uniform... (2) Star Trek has always been a family friendly show! (3) I don't even know what to say about that... So, if you want your wishes to come true, you will most possibly have to mod them yourself.

Had a blast yesterday, running the Star Trek Adventures mission "The Rescue at Xerxes IV". And with this mission, I changed the scale of my maps and minis, going tiny... Since it is easy to shrink down maps and minis by 50% in both directions, I now use 15mm scale. This makes everything small enough to even better store thousands of minis, as well as maps. A regularly 60 x 60 cm (24 x 24 inches) encounter map shrinks down to 30 x 30 cm. Everything gets more transportable, and for future convention games, I can travel with much lighter luggage... I already made that switch with my "Save The Day" campaign, so I could use this nice little city with the minis: www.waylandgames.co.uk/dropzone-essentials/5605-dropzone-commander-cityscape-terrain-packSince the 15mm paper minis incl. their foamcore bases (1x1 cm, btw.) weigh NOTHING, you don't need to glue the building, keepint their ability to fold flat...

Shep's Transporter Room is amazing! Yes I am using the Megabloks transporter console. The paper console was too hard for me to build. I am getting better though.

Yes I am using the Megabloks transporter console. If you got it, use it! I thought about investing in the Megabloks sets, too, but since I now switched to 15 mm, I will either have to come up with an easier build for the console, or break my clumsy fingers while trying to build a shrunk version of the one that comes with my transporter room...

The first of my Starfleet Grammas done my way I will be doing a full away team for this month's Hoard I think... Speaking of which, okumarts is it okay if we do these as public access for the Hoard? They are after all a paid product that we are lifting Gramma textures and art from.

Perhaps you should tint the legs for stockings (or even mod them in)? No gran would have legs that smooth... Interesting we both thought that. I tried to add some noise/static to the skin (zoom in and you will see) but I'm not too happy with the way it turned out. I am still pondering to do the stockings or not (TOS featured dark stockings) and if so, how to go about it so it is clearly different from the boots.

OK, Admiral Weatherwax with a little more work done, and Commander Ogg as well. I'll try to knock out (not up, she's too old for that!) Commander Magrat tomorrow. I went ahead and gave them traditional Starfleet stockings since I see them as still active duty.
