Hi all:
This is a broad thanks to a lot of people in this forum.
Some time ago a terrible accident fell over my family. The death of two person very dear to us all. The shock and mourn that fell over us was so overwhelming that we kept living our lives and doing the necessary, but we were unable for some time to do more than that. Little by little I start understanding that my older nephews, 9, 7 and 6 years old were mourning also very much although they didn't showed that up exteriorly.
That did make me more sad and worried. So I decided to do something with then every sunday. As the weather has been terrible for some months now, I picked something to do inside.
I printed some paper figures from OneMonk, the dungeon tiles from D.Ashton and the Song of Blades and Heroes from Ganesha and I start an adventures of fantasy with them.
First just with a few miniatures, but as their happiness start to rise, I created more and more, looking for more minis, buying the dwarves from Slick miniatures, creating a whole universe that got deeper every Sunday.
As my nephews got deeper into it, talking about their heroes and adventures, so my family mood went up, with my wife and my sister even joining up the adventure when I needed some powerful NPCs.
My youngest nephew keeps his "OneMonk Paper Hero" with him all the time. In fact I had to print and build another one for him. Paper doesn't last very long in the loving hands of a 6 years old boy.
Doing this also helped me leaving the unhappy state I was and I really enjoyed creating this story for my beloved nephews.
For that I thank you all - for the ideas I took from you - for the paper minis I borrowed from you - for the fun I had here in this forum, reading you posts, your hopes and your expectations.
Thank you very much.
