One of the things I'm working on now is a set of slot-fit walls that can be used to create spaceship and space station layouts. Here's my first paper test, showing how the walls can be used to create rooms, and showing off the sliding doors. This sort of system would also work for dungeon walls, or to quickly assemble the interiors of medieval buildings (or any buildings, really). I'll be thinking about those as I continue working on this sci-fi set.

Dude... are you trying to take all my money?!
The applications for this type of slotted system are ENDLESS!
Great, great job Dave!
I've said it before, but I'll say it again... I'm a HUGE fan!

Edit: Now all we need to do is figure out a clever way to secure them onto ground tiles and we're set!

This is a pretty cool concept. I can't wait to see the finished product.
Especially as star ship corridors. I have enough terrain to simulate a hundred miles of dungeons, but when it comes to star ships I am mostly stuck in 2D.

Nicely done, Dave. I have been hoping for a good system like this for quite a while. I am glad you came up with something.

I'm interested in seeing how these things get textured out. They doors and lines look very Star Trek, but I could see a more Star Wars finish looking amazing as well.

I'm sure that the final set will cover both bases with different texture layers. You really need to have the PDFs to see how many variations Dave's sets include. I can see space hulk in those corridors too.

I've had to put this project on hold indefinitely as a result of a hard drive crash. Fortunately, I didn't get much beyond the line-layout stage with this set, and it was highly modular, so it should be pretty easy to recreate it. For now, I'm working on some World Wars ruins and we'll see what happens after that.

Sorry to hear about your lost data.
I must admit I am really looking forward to this one though, whenever you get back to it.

BB,
I wonder what your art would look like 2.5Dish like this?

Nothing new to report on this one. I'll probably come back to these when I feel like my SF texture library is up to the job.

I'm making my own, and they won't be either commercial or even close to your standards, but do you mind if I pinch the interlocking idea? I was wondering how to make the walls stand-upable but still flat-packable.

Did you have a look at okumarts STAR TREK corridors? They are fold-flat. Just patch a different texture on them and you should be good to go. You can find them somewhere in his Where No Man Has Gone Before thread.

You can find them somewhere in his Where No Man Has Gone Before thread. I confess, I never even gave them a thought... I'll see what I can knock up to match my tile-set I have been working on.
