OK I've been working on some 2.5 D monsters and pc figs off and on for a few years and I've used them in my games some times. The theory is that stand up from the table look good from the top, (since most of us don't play with our chins on the table) an fold flat for storage. I feel like I will never be good enough at texturing etc. to make a commercial go of it , so it is time to release them on the world. Right now they exist as gimp .xcf files. What should I do so you guys can have a look at them

easiest would be save them as a png/pdf file then upload to flickr/photobucket/4shared etc also good to include what type of copyright your releasing them under, in case others wish to mod etc edit: forgot to say I'm looking forward to seeing them

OK, so I've got a flickr account. It is (no surprise) www.flickr.com/photos/cowboyleland/ Please check out my OGL compatible ogres and let me know what you think. I think "assembly" is self explanatory, but if not, feel free to ask for some tips. I've also got trolls and a Balor (again OGLish) as well as some player character pirates, but I warn you the pc's are fiddlier 'cause they are that much smaller and I think they need re-jigging to make them simpler I'll "post" them all if there is demand

Very Cool! They remind me of a simpler version of Tirick's minis seen HERE. Please post more!!!

I thought the same thing when I saw Tirick's stuff. I found out he is somewhere in Ontario, as I am, so I figure there is something in the water. I want to post some trolls next but it depends on how a meeting goes tonight. Edit: Actually, I posted the troll to flickr while I ate supper. Enjoy the trolls, but don't feed them Added some more troll pics like this one: Troll Front by cowboyleland, on Flickr

;D It's not just the water mate, Ontarians are just awesome!
There are definite advantages to 2.5 models; you get much of the 3d effect at like 10% of the build time...
Neat models! Tirick

ooops! Forgot to thank WaffleM for the encouragement: Thanks! Thanks to you too, Tirick and yes ease and speed of build, as well as fold flat storage, were really important to me as I started to design. I've gone ahead and posted some more troll picks as well as a Bebilith at www.flickr.com/photos/cowboyleland/ and I have a Balor almost ready to go. I was once working through the OGL in alphabetical order The Bebilith and Troll include some "teasers" of a swashbuckler, but I have modified (simplified) that page of figs quite a bit since that prototype so it should get a test build before I put it up. That, and the Balor, will have to wait until I get some free time. Any suggestions always welcome!

Very nice. Now these are some 2.5D figures that would not take that long to put together. I like the Bebilith. Very nice illusion without tons of cutting and folding.

Yep, the bugs seem to work best. I'm somewhat indebted to Mel Ebbles, it was his 2.5d bugs (that were once free) and Jim's MMiP 2.5d dragon that got me started down this path. Speaking of free, do you suppose it is all the Scots blood in Ontario that makes us look for cheap paper minis? Another advantage of fold-up figs is that when they die, you can squash them flat on the game table. They look like road kill and my group counts corpses as rough terrain! Anyway, I have a multi-legged reptile (Behir) that I sketched and cut out but I never scanned in because I can't think of an easy way to do scales. Can anyone out there help me with that?
