Been working on a dragon rider for the elven alliance set. I really wanted one for my elven army . Hopefully I haven't butchered Jim's work to much. Just the one pose, I will also lay the dragon out without the rider for those who might want it. Haven't had a chance to do a final test build yet, but it's way to late to do one now so I'll finish it off in the morning . Picy preview below: I based it on the old high elven dragon rider from warmaster.

Thanks all for the kind words I overslept a little this morning, probably shouldn't have stayed up until 2am working on the above Final test build and layout done and I'm really happy with how it's turned out. I was worried it would look funny or out of place next to the other elf units but it seems to fit in fine. Picy : I'll drop the files through in the next Hoard but for the moment they are up on my blog: sirrob01.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/dragon-ride-final1.pdfsirrob01.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/dragon-rider1.odt( you'll need to rename the GSD file to .gsd) The Elf riders head hangs outside the cut range at the top so make sure you cut that before pulling him outI based mine on a 50mm pill base I'd recommend the 50mm Square with something heavy stuck on the underside and glue the model in permanently. Hope some others have fun with the model in their elf armies. Onemonk let me know if you'd like anything else added to the file and thanks for letting others mod your work . edit: Not sure if anyone is interested but here's the blog post: sirrob01.wordpress.com/2010/08/15/elven-alliance-dragon-rider-paper-standee/

I think it looks fantastic! I'll print one out and add it to my Elf army as well. I like the wing method, and may borrow this idea for some dragon designs of my own if you don't mind. I have had in the back of my ind for quite some time, the problem of dragon wings and how to attach them. I think your design is elegant and simple, and gets the desired effect just right. JIM

Love the dragon, and it started me thinking, (painful). The wings look a bit Bat like and a Bat is called a Flying Fox in German, and you did the Foxes army recently, and I’ve never seen Flying Foxes or Wolves before. Could a new species of monster be about to be born?

Could a new species of monster be about to be born? That is a really good idea, I look at slipping one in with the next lot of fox troop types I do
