Any chance of some colonial musicians (drummer bears and buglers) and colour party (Queens colour, regimental colour, CSM with red sash) for completeness? That way we can do full scale colonial style battles such as 'Izzie Sandles Bedtime' or 'Rorkes Duvet' Some really good ideas in there, Musicians and a standard bearer are a definite. Sgt Maj sound like a good idea. Anyone have any idea's for 2 other base troop types? Congratz on the new baby Jose , sounds like she'll be busy around her 4-5th birthday

Some really good ideas in there, Musicians and a standard bearer are a definite. Sgt Maj sound like a good idea. Anyone have any idea's for 2 other base troop types? Just wondering how they'd do a gatling gun out of pop guns?! The battle of Rorkes duvet was fought when a host of marauding koala natives tried to take over the recovery station on the spare bed. Seizing the high ground of the top bunk, the natives were able to snipe away at the small garrison of colonial bears. arrayed behind their barricades of marmelade crates and honey pots. The small garrison, consisting of old, tatty and threadbare teddies as well as medical orderlies and commissariat staff, bolstered by a small detachment of the 24th furry foot, held out until reinforcements were spied and the natives slunk away. So in order to re-enact the battle accurately we'd need models of a teddy surgeon, commissariat staff, medical orderlies and some old tatty threadbare teddy soldiers. Actually this would make a great special edition set, I'll go away and have a play with suitably teddy like versions of the historical (or should that be hysterical) characters. Back to basic colonial type troop types, given they are based on the zulu war........... you've got : Infantry, officers, colour party, musicians Oh what about some Teddy Highlanders!!! in Kilts? Cavalry, lancers and dragoons Artillery (big pop guns?) + crew Gatling guns + crew Rocket battery + crew observation/communication team (heliograph/telescope or similar) would make an ace objective! Navel Brigade!!! (infantry/sailors, officers, gatling guns) TNC (Teddy Native Contingent) natives allied to the colonials, equipped with rifles/spears and a red head band All those exotic irregulars TLH (Teddy Light Horse) TMP (Teddy Mounted Police), Volunteer light cavalry etc. Take your pick. (Off to dig out my Osprey man-at-arms book on the Teddy-Koala war!!)

Hey Sir Rob, that's a great mod to the pirate ship! Nothing strikes fear into the hearts of the enemy like a teddy-bear skull and cross bones. Great work!

Aargh Matey, these be ace!!! All we need now is a chest full of chocolate Dubloons, aargh Jim lad!! These are ace Rob!!! Printing out as I type (although the printer is running out of ink so some are looking a little washed out, still my daughter won't mind too much!! She'll love them when she finds them tomorrow!!) Glad you like the ideas for the colonial teddies. Actually you could expand the range to cover the whole colonial period. What about Teddies from various nations defending the legation quarter from Chinese boxer pandas?

Don't forget the nefarious sheep armada...
I love these minis for their cuteness, but I have to admit I don't see using them in my campain just yet. Maybe in the next one, when the players are up against the forces of chaos... ;D

G'day guys, I hope noone minds me posting this here. I'm the author of Song of Fur and Buttons. Its great to hear that people are playing (and enjoying?) the game! Just wanted to say how cool these are. Its a great way to play the game for people that may not have bought the metal minis from Eureka, which you can find at www.eurekamin.com.auThe second edition of Song of Fur and Buttons is complete and is awaiting release (in Andrea's hands). Things you can expect: * Its now standalone and requires no other books to play * Some new Troop types and Heroes * A couple of new scenarios including Kermitian Jousting and a border skirmish involving the Kermitians trying to defend themselves from a Giant Turtle attack. * More narrative Also in the works is a game called Akitsushima (The Land of the Dragonflies) which uses the Kermitians models in an anicent game/sport of catching dragonflies. This is in playtest now. In addition to this I am working on Song of Fur and Buttons Book 2, which continues the story with a slew of new scenarios, profiles and narrative, including expanding on the Cowbear Bears and the impending assault of the Picnic Bears on their Western township. If you have any questions, just ask. Keep up the great work Rob! Cheers, Ben.

I have no idea how I missed boromirandkermit's post, thanks for the feedback and looking forward to those new books . If I could just get some time to play more instead of drawing and colouring... I've got the frogs laid out so it's just cut, print and polish to go. I'm going to go for a 2-3 day gap between the frogs and turtles

Rob
My daughter was chuffed to bits with the frogs I printed out for her this morning. Especially when I mentioned that you had based them on tree frogs.
She's been hankering after a pet tree frog for a while now, fortunately we've been able to avoid it for the last two years, but it's only a matter of time! We've seen Aussie green tree frogs in the pet shops, but her ideal would be a red eyed tree frog, as made famous by David Attenborough on his life on earth series in the 80's.

Got the turtles all wrapped up today You can grab the files from the end of this blog post: sirrob01.wordpress.com/2010/10/30/turtle-clan-paper-miniatures/I'm going to be taking a little break from these while I work on building some wwg/dave terrain and having a go at designing the Victorian streets. I find I can only really work on two things at once but I'll get back to these as soon as I can .

Sweet!!! Thanks man these look awesome. I am working on some wwg goodness myself as we speak. Powering my way through a couple hundred tiles from the different tlx sets, trying to get a good selection for my game terrain. I've also been doing some mods and recolors that I'll post pictures of soon. Thanks again! ;D
