I have bought Starfight from RPGNOW, with all the ship expansions. Seems a nice light game, but i have two "problems": 1) Art is dry. Really. I can't look at it 2) I'm not a Star Trek geek, but it is obvoius that this game is ST inspired.
So, while i plan to redraw the ship sheets in a LCARS style, i'm hunting for good paper counters. There's any 2.5D Start trek ships around? i'm able to find only complex paper models.... or, at least, some good ST flat counters. I remember i have seen something very old, but i'm unable to find them.

If you're looking for a better game, try Precis Intermedia's Warcosm. You can get it at RPG Now or at www.pigames.net/store/default.php?cPath=87. They even have a ship design program available. The Warcosm PDF is $6.95 and the Shipyard software is 4.95.

Warcosm interests me.
Has anyone played BOTH Warcosm and Battlefleet Gothic ?
My gaming group has an extensie collection of BFG ships, but BFG doesn't lend itself well to custom ships.
I was wondering if the Warcosm game mechanic is any good, or at least better than BFG, as I was pondering switching over to Warcosm and using our BFG ships, with the posibility of creating new ships/fleets with the Warcosm ship desinger software.

I've played SilentDeath from very long time. My gaming group thought that it was time for a change, so i bought Starmada AE just to find it boring to death. Starfight seemed light but fun (i still have to play it). Thanks for your toughs. Squimrydad, thanks for the links. They was part of what i remember. I know that i've seen other startrek pawns in the past.... maybe at the time of Paperworlds....
