All I gotta say is awesome... Awesome!
The internal structure using foam core works really well. Providing a really sturdy frame with which to hang all the ornate goodies...
I want more... I want 1:1 Bolt Guns, I want an M41 (that I don't have to resize to US Letter and is a little more sturdily built with not so many pieces), I want some Gears of War weaponry!!!!

I want... foamcore. I just realized that what I use as a replacement isn't 3/16th of an inch, but 5 mm thick. It works fine as a base and is easily addapted for, say, walkways and such, but I don't know about this one... especially since there are three layers in the core, meaning thrice the difference...

I think you'll have to live with what you can find. It took me 3 years (talking about spare time) to find in Italy what in US is called "Foamcore". I finally found that here it is called "Laminil" or "Polyplat", and it is a thing used by Architecture students to build the models of what they design. I'm lucky enough to live in the town with the most ancient university in EU, and so i've found it. It is sold at 3 or 5mm thick, at least here there's no way to find it in inches fractions.

I would be surprised if that 0.24mm made a significant difference. For the lightening gun, two layers of card-stock sandwiched between the three layers of foam-core would probably give you pretty close to the exact thickness required. Cheers,

I've had 1:1 Boltguns on the backburner for some time... the instructions for this project have given me some fresh ideas.
