Ok... I have had my Skeletons posted. I am nearly half-way done with my conceptual artwork. Once I get the 8 figures done, I will work on the actual figures. I am now starting on the last few figures that will be the "Bosses" of the set. The way I see it, the heirarchy is something like this... The LICH KING is the leader of the figures in the set. He should be. He's a King, and he is a magical undead warrior. He has a General, the WRAITH. The wraith commands the skeletal units into battle. The TEMPLE GUARDS are the guys that wait at the door to stop would-be intruders. The SKELETON WARRIORS/KNIGHTS are just the guys hanging around the burial mound. So, with that said, that should bring the count up to five... (if I am not overlooking something. That leaves just three more figures to design, and then once I have them, the figures will follow! Any feedback? Oh, you have seen the SKELETONS, but you may not have seen THIS guy, yet. I present to you, THE GENERAL OF THE LICH KING, THE *WRAITH.* www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=254744&l=70722c2bd9&id=100001331075572

This fits with the theme... It is the Skeletal Lizardman that OneMonkeyBeau asked about (a MONTH ago) ... Sorry... Here is what I have done so far. Just need to do the back and base it. Attachments:

It has always bugged me that there are only human (or near-human) undead. This one looks great.
Now we need undead gnomes/halflings... ;D

Well, thanks for the input, Satrek. (I'm glad there are those who sneak down to the bottom of the forum once in a while). Perhaps all other species are like elephants... they sneak away and die in the shadows and their skeletons can't be reanimated.. Here's what I have seen over the years... I have seen miniatures that were undead/skeletal Orcs, beasts, and so forth... the ONLY thing you see out there in MOST arenas is undead humans and horses that they ride on, oh, and dracoliches. Ok, we ALL know that I am not an excellent artist, I just do what I can... but I am also not as fast at producing these as I'd like. If I had my way, I would have undead EVERYTHING! It is very time consuming to try to figure out bone structure on things that don't exist. For example, this lizardman took HOURS to find just the right look to make it look feasible. I googled "lizard skulls" and I found a picture with about 8 skulls on it with various angles. I took a little from each, and came up with this. Some people may ask why it has "scales" on it and not plain... well, the real ones have them, so... It's just me. Maybe I am getting too old to have the imagination tht I used to, but for me, in order for something to "work" it has to have a realistic feel. So, keep in mind, when you have skeletons and zombies walking around, they have to be realistic!

Nice Skeletal Lizard! It reminds me of our real lizard that I thought was dead yesterday morning. Turns out that we just had the terrarium too cold and he hadn't warmed up yet! Oops!
It's good to see alternate skeletal warriors. It always bothered me a little when a fantasy setting had diverse "living" warriors but only human undead ones.

No. Actually, I am trying to get all of my figures "approved," and once I get the "go-ahead," I will do the backs and color them.

Running the risk of not being productice here, but who says you can't reanimate elephants?

I feel that since I am NOT a very good artist, that if I tried to do an elephant, I would fail MISERABLY! Not good at animals, but IF I were ever to attempt an undead/skeleton elephant, it would HAVE to be a 2.5D figure. Fold-overs, standees (I just prefer to call them what they are, "FIGURES") are fine as 2D cut-outs for anything that is human-sized, or slightly larger... but IMHO, I think that ANYTHING larger than that SHOULD be at LEAST 2.5D. If I had time, and wasn't trying to get some other things wrapped up (and restore my REAL life to what it was before I was in the hospital), then I would attempt to make a skeletal elephant... that's right... a SKELEPHANT!! It would be 2.5D, and have options to use a sedan chair, catapult/ballista and yes, even a set of twin-linked rocket lauinchers... In "my little world," the just because it is the year 3010, doesn't mean that MAGIC and Necromancy doesn't still exist... Ok, ADDING SKELEPHANT to the list of things to do... I just saw an image of a SKELEPHANT with twin-mounted gatling cannons strolling down the middle of the battlefiled... Ok, thanks guys for making my list EVEN longer... Have to wrap up some undead stuff! I tell you, I am REALLY needing to draw some things with FLESH on them...

I just saw an image of a SKELEPHANT with twin-mounted gatling cannons strolling down the middle of the battlefiled... I hope you mean "inside-mounted", not top-mounted or side-mounted. A ribcage is as good as it gets as far as protection for the gunner is concerned .

Hey all,
Just letting you know that like my undead creations I am back from the dead (kind of). I still don't have a computer at my disposal, only my droid... so, I can't post anything here currently.
The super-good news is I have actually found a minute or two to "finish" a couple undead figures, and I just have a couple obstacles to overcome. Once I figure out how to hurdle these, look for more stuff to follow.
I have oprimistic plans for the future, and I want to thank you all for the words of encouragement and friendship over the last few months. I have a long road ahead of me, but you can expect more of my artwork in the future months... and maybe even in a tomb near you!

Hey, in case anyone was curious, or cared... I have nearly all of the fronts and backs of my skeletons done. I just need to get a computer so I can transfer my images into actual electronic versions.
Once I complete th. :)ese, I plan on working up some colored versions and also alternative weapons for the Tomb Guards. As I have more updates I will keep you posted.
(I am sure there are many newer posters here that may be asking themselves, "Who is this guy...?" Nobody important, but I hope to be returning soon, and in a big way!)

I'm BAAAAaaaaacccck! ...and I brought a figure with me. It is a simple profile figure of my version of a SPECTRE. It simply is carrying a short sword and a buckler. I thought this was a good way to show him as being nothing more than a floating torso. Any thoughts, or critisms, feel free to let me know! Thank you for your attention. Attachments:
