So Sanity Studios is going to a local convention and we will be judging some unpublished boardgames and also have a booth to show off our communities stuff. I want to take Mech Attack, some of Dave Graffam's stuff (if he'll let us), and of course some Onemonk stuff. I'm looking to get a wide variety of stuff to show off. The con is Feb 18-19 and I'm trying to give us enough time to assemble all this. Do you have any more good ideas for stuff to show? Also, if you're in the area come on down and say hi. We'd love to meet ya and play a few games together.
Utah...for some reason I thought you guys were based in Australia. It would be fun to come, but that's a long ways from the central coast of California. Are you looking to show off the commercial stuff or just anything interesting?

Yeah, plain ol' Utah. We're not as exciting as Australia (but I do own a kangaroo skin book bag).
Really anything that shows the diversity of paper gaming. If it's commercial I would like to have the permission of the creators first, but if it's not (and it looks presentable I'd like to show it off. I would like to keep it specific to our forum members however.

Yeah tommy, that panorama shot really shows off your stuff. It looks good. Maybe we can work on getting it into a pdf w/ cut files and getting more publicity (ie on the front of onemonk ). I don't have any current day stuff yet so I'll keep your stuff in mind. I've just got to find the time to build and cut all this (not to mention they only give you a 8'x8' space).
Once you build the first building they come together pretty fast. They are basically just boxes. The bigger ones are reenforced with chip board or cereal boxes. I understand if you don't have the room. I think the fort could be used to help display the fantasy figures? Whatever you want to do or not is fine.
I went and grabbed them off of RPGNow. Thanks for the reminder. I also got Jabbro and Anitangel's freebies too (I think I already had them somewhere but I can't find them). If you do have 'cut file ready' versions of your stuff (and the GSD files that go with 'em) that would help since I've already got a huge backlog of things to cut.

So it's less than a week away and I've got most of Mech Attack! done (finally). I think I would have to agree with Parduz that it does take a while to do a complete set (I understand you should do it in pieces but I'm a completion-ist [read as OCD or crazy I can't tell which]). We also played our first game which was quite fun. Here's a few pics of the models:
I found the record sheets were a bit small (but not until I had printed and laminated a ton of the small ones) so I enlarged them a bit (and laminated them of course). I will probably have to print/laminate some more.
Now I have to get Solid State War going but I'm kinda bogging down without the cut files (am I spoiled?) I do have two planes cut but not assembled. I was hoping to have four of each color before the con. We will have to see how far I get. I do at least have some small plane top-downs printed if need be.
That's an incredible collection. You can run several games at once with all those models. Very impressive...
The smaller record sheets are intended to fit in card sleeves like the Privateer Press games... But it might be a good idea for us to also include a larger size, then you could choose which one you wanted to use. Another advantage to being a print-and-play game.

SaltCON is tomorrow and I (as always) under estimated how much time it would take to get everything done. I am still in full modeling mode trying to get everything done. However, now that I look at it all, I'm not sure if it will fit on the display table. I guess we'll see tomorrow ;D I've got so much more I want to do though!
We did some demos of our games including Mech Attack, and Solid State War. Those who played had a great time. We did our best to promote paper modeling, so hopefully it will be of some help to our cause.
The only thing we forgot to bring were buckets to catch all the drool. Our whole display was slobbered on and ruined. Only joking, but really, we blew some fuzzy little minds with this stuff. People were blown away.
A look at the overall display.
Nik's 15mm undead and elf armies.
The wife of Boffo the Sane herself!
A nice look at our banner.
We hope we have stirred interest for paper miniatures. We will probably go back next year and do it all over again.
My compliments for your showcase. Other than the insane amount of work to put all that things together, i admire your willing to promote the whole market by showing "competitor" games and stuffs on your own table.
Vermin King: It does help keep you from picking up unintended hitchhiker files, though. It would be better if they gave a notification that you are attempting to download multiple files and to check the box in front of each file you wish to download

cowboyleland: I see now. Some new upgrade (windows? chrome?) blocks downloads of "multiple files" at a time. The miniscule notification that the download was blocked appears in the corner of the screen for a fraction of a second. "They" call this progress.
