I wish I had a WIP to post here. Unfortunately, my computer and I had a little crashy problem. I hope to have at least something up here tonight.

Ok... I re-created a little of my work on Sunday night. I sort of got all fired up then and did a bunch. Then Paint Shop crashed and... poof. I said some bad words. I'm trying to create a parts file to build these up with... I got 3 heads, and some legs... eww, the legs. Any suggestions? I ain't happy with em. It seems my strength happens to be faces. So, here's a partial Goaty-dude. Bear in mind, its raster except for the head, which I did manage to save from Sunday. Also, its the first no-paper mini I've ever done. I really wish my tablet would work with GIMP...

He's great - especially the flappy banner and hairy legs.
(Total sympathies with working / non-working software, it can be a real grind when the tools you're used to rebel or so senile)

Leg suggestion: I think the back of the "knee" should actually be a "U" shaped curve. That joint is, anatomically, more like our ankle/heel. Other than that, he looks great. Edit: Thighs should be fury all the way around. Er . . . at least on goat people

I agree. Look at a dog, cat or horse pic. As drawn, it is a human thigh attached to a human knee that goes back to the animal ankle/knee and continues down to a human ankle to the foot.
A quick look at a dog or cat, and you can fix it pretty easily. Or look at the kobolds in the banner. There are just too many joints in the legs.
I really like the fur on the legs. Economy of lines, but you know exactly what you are supposed to see. The armpit hair will probably disappear at scale, but it was a humorous touch

Great Work !! It´s wonderfull. You can do a 2D and a 2.5D version of this, like jim´s skeleton army stardart bearer. Go on with them

You know we wouldn't have even mentioned the legs if you hadn't asked for suggestions.
These guys have a lot of character

Well, I did ask, and thanks for telling me. I have the leg issue fixed, coincidentally by looking at the "Ghoul" minis I posted in the "NOT by me" thread. Heh.
I'm busily working on these. I keep getting more and more ideas and I can't draw fast enough to keep up with my mind.

Did you notice how bad those ghoul legs look on the backs? Be careful (or just better than me!)

The thing is.. I drew them like the original GW(tm) mini's looked. So they can't even stand, much less walk or charge....realistically speaking. Hoofed critters have a fetlock, and I was trying to depict that. But they just looked..... WRONG.
Yeah, the backs will be tough. You did a good job Cowboy. I'll hit you up for the backs on these. Heh.

They are spot on for GW beastmen..... just like the 3D sculpts. And as such should be completely unable to walk (except for a sort of plodding up and down motion). This is in keeping with GW scale and attention to anatomy Look at a space marine.... no room in that armour for a neck and the waist and rib cage meet (space marines have no time to digest food, so no need for a GI tract). But they look cool The face is really good, shame you lsot the other vector stuff

Oh, reading jose's description of beastmens' anatomy, I would say, nasty, blasphemic stuff, revgunn ;D. Creatures so degenerated, they are unable to walk properly ? Nasty indeed. Maybe you should erase the biceps contour line of the left arm. Just form the muscles by shading. Keep it up. They will look great.

Ok, thanks Paladin. The teeth are off too. I'm gonna get back at it.

The first drawing is great.... it's supposed to be a chaos style degenerate beastman, so it's spot on. If it was supposed to be anatomically and scientifically correct then it wouldn't exist at all

Thanks Mr Dominguez. It may take me a few days, but I'm getting this done. I've re-drawn a bunch so far. You will possess beastmen before long.

This really reminds me of early 80ties drawings in metal minis' catalogues of that era. Cool. The teeth are not too bad, by the way.

@ Mr Paladin- Cool, thanks. I'd love to get a look at that catalog in that case.
Now I've gotta go back and find the thread where Jose told me what specific armaments they are supposed to have. I kinda remember Hand weapon, 2 hand weapons, spear... After that I kinds forget.
According to GWtm Canon, I'm drawing Gorstm
Apparently armored ones are Bestigorstm... I like those more better.

I have found one page of the Citadel Compendium I - 1983 ! I suppose, this gem is a bit of Warhammer history (I for myself know nearly nothing about Warhammer tradition ...). This might be interesting for you. The problem is: I can't upload a pic here technically - no menu function to do that !?

gors (big horns no heavy armour): HAnd weapons. Or two hand weapons or hand weapon and shield. UNgor bowmen: hand weapon and short bow UNgors (little horns, sort of satyr looking weaklings): HAnd weapon and shield or spear and shield Bestigors (big with heavy armour): great weapon and heavy armour Centigors: spear, light armour and shield. May also have throwing axes. Or great weapon and may also take throwing axes That's the main units

Looking forward to these guys.
BTW, algoesnext, if you really want to add smell, go to the hunting department at Wally World or your nearest megamart, and there are a variety of smelly liquids available to cover the hunter's scent. I've a pretty good story about a bottle of skunk scent, but this isn't the place. Trust me, one drop will probably give you all the smell you need.

Wow ! Definitely old-school. okumarts, yes, that's the link. There you find the old Citadel Compendium I (with 1st edition Warhammer rulesets). revgunn, there is one page, which shows "Goat headed Ogres" (! ;D), some forefathers of your beastmen, maybe ... . Very expressive and aggressive. I like them.

You are correct Parduz. They got all distorted while I was trying to re-scale them. Good eyes.
