Over the last few weeks, I've been pretty busy with life and all those responsible type things, which has kept me from doing much drawing. I bought myself a used pickup for one thing, so at least now I have a vehicle again. In any case, I've had a lot of stuff to do.
Last night, about 11:30pm, my family dogs got in a huge fight. The Black Lab female attacked our female Pit Bull. We stopped it once, and she went after her again. In the process of stopping the second fight, my right hand was bitten by the lab, pretty badly. Its mostly my ring finger, and my middle finger was torn up a bit too. Part of what I find strange was that at no time was the pit aggressive at all. The big bad scary ferocious evil reputation dog tried to get away... She was placed with us as a rescue from a dog fighting bust. She's been an amazing dog, and I feel bad that I didn't want her because she was a pit. She defended me from the Lab, who was VERY aggressive. I guess I can be wrong too...
So, I'm not able to do much, since I'm right handed. I was really hoping to contribute to the hoard this month, and I've got those Beastmen to finish also. Plus, a city map for my new Burning Wheel campaign. This couldn't have happened at a better time.
So, I'm going to put up my parts file for the Beastmen, and I guess I'll have to miss out on the Hoard. I hate to drop the ball. My apologies.

Son of a Buck.
Unless you have a fire hose or one of those attack dog training suits, you just have to let them have it out. Labs can be VERY territorial. Pits are needy. Unless trained to be vicious, they can be extremely wonderful dogs. If a Pit feels too neglected or if it gets a taste of blood, they can change, though.
Good luck with that. Do they have your hand pretty well immobilized?

Yeah, I knew better than to try, but I did it anyway. I seem to be infected with the dumb-ass sometimes. Funny thing is, I was trying to save the lab. I figured Dixie ( the pit) would kill her if she got going.
Years ago, I raised German Sheppards. 2 of my pups were S&R dogs when they bombed the Federal Building here. Apparently, this particular pit was a contender when that piece of @%$# doing the dog fights had her, and she pretty much saved my butt. I've got a friend who is a Deputy Sheriff here, so he sent her to me. I seem to have a rep as a dog guy.
They got those plastic things on my fingers and I'm all wrapped up. Good thing I can type with one hand. No stitches either, they leave dog bites open in case of infection I was told. I've been bitten before, but not this bad. Oh well, it will heal.

When I was 8 or 9 years old my neighbor's pit got hold of my hand and did a number on a couple fingers and the webbing between a couple others. Hard to believe I don't hold a grudge against them.
Glad it wasn't any worse. Your dogs are very lucky to have you as their owner.

Ups, this is terrible, revgunn. I am sorry for your fingers. Maybe you and your dogs were very lucky at the same time. Dog fighting between those breeds seems to be dangerous. Sounds very Wild West to me. Take your time to heal. The art can wait. Best wishes for your health, paladin

Thanks VK and Paladin. I'm healing ok, no infections, which was the big worry.

Hopefully your recovery is still going well. Haven't seen you on for a while and was a bit concerned.

I am doing well y'all. Thanks for your concern.
I got a little burned out on gaming, so I took a break for a while. Truthfully, it was more the group I was gaming with than gaming itself...
So I've been playing guitar with some friends bands, and that sort of thing. Lots of cool cool stuff here since I've been gone...

Glad to see you are at least stopping back to keep us updated on your condition.
I know how you feel... it seems there is always a guy or two that seem to ruin the whole gaming experience. My way of dealing with it was to play a variety of games. They can't ruin ALL of them... (just my two cents worth).

Every group I've gamed with has had one. I find that the best way to sort it out is to confront the problem head on. Of course we always game at my house and my basement is getting kind of full.

Been there. For a couple of months I tried to game every week, and just came back home with a sour mood.
Nowadays I game much less, but at least in better company.

Better company really helps. I had no idea what was bringing me down until I stopped the game with the "problem kids". Now, I look forward to game day. Its an amazing hobby we have. I'm glad to not dread it anymore. Nothing else compares with the feeling of a good session, except maybe jamming. I like Kila's idea. More games, less chance for annoying folks to bring you down.

I'm feeling very lucky. I meet each tuesday with my friends to play game. A good half of that gamers are friends of mine from when we were pre-teens... the other are ppls added to the group in the years, but basically they also are lifetime friends of someone of the "original" players... we meet from about.... 15 years or more... still there. Obviously someone don't like too much someone else, is hard to have 30-40 ppl all liking each other. Anyway i never heard more than 2-3 discussion in all this time, and all was already forgotten the next week.
