Whiplash Trigger Western miniatures is a commercial release is coming in the next day or two. They are going to be used for an upcoming game I'm running so I thought I'd release them as my first commercial paper minis. Attachments:

Just got 'em! Good stuff. I'm not planning on running a western campaign, but I wanted to play around with a project based on westerns. I just happened to be watching Hopalong Cassidy when I came across these. It'd be cool if you could do some mounted cowboy characters. Ain't no Hopolong Cassidy show that's complete without the big horse chase at the end!
Have fun! Steve

I'm thinking I may put together a handful of tiny "electronic" pieces (like computers, communicators, power cells, etc.) or even some little gun augmentations to turn their pistols into slightly more future-y weapons, stuff that can be pasted onto their belts, holsters, etc., for space coboy/Serenity use.

Futuristic versions, eh? Not a bad idea that...

Wow! I like your style so much.
I like them a lot, except for the one with the cow jacket (first row, center): he seems to have both the arms extended backwards, which result in a very innatural pose....
... now don't let them fire at me!! ;D

Parduz, point taken with the arms. If it is an issue, simply score the gun arm at the shoulder and have the weapon point forward. Set Two: Horsemen is well on the way with two mounted characters pencilled and inked as of tonight. The set will have five individual characters, a mounted version and an unmounted version. Set Three: Characters is in development and will have a variety of Western archetypes from Lawmen, Grifters, Gamblers, Padres and Bounty Hunters. I think each Archetype will eventually get a set of 10.

Thanks DC! I have quite a few sets already started in many genres. It's just a matter of finishing them.

Congrats on your first commercial set. I've added your link to the main page (ah the joys of having a working website) and look forward to further releases.

Oh, if you could add me to the list on the main website, that'd be sweet. I will definitely return the favour. Tommygun, thanks for the kind words. Set Two should be out for Wednesday. I'll put up a preview Monday.

Really cool minis, okumarts. I think you have designed critters full of life. I like the older gentleman on the right, last row the best - themewise. Congrats, okumarts. I would have sworn, that you have some commercial sets out there already !

I bet if you put registration marks on these (if there's room at the edges) some nice person with the time and inclination would make cutfiles for them...

Hey, there's a Facebook page for Okumarts Games! www.facebook.com/pages/Okumarts-Games/188520267860500Response has been great! I am kicking in to full gear and will have the second Western set out for June 1st. Then there will be a Retro/Pulp Sci Fi release (2 actually). After that I will have a few more Western mini sets out in June along with a modern line release. This will be a busy summer!

Great figures - have you thought about doing their riderless horses for parking outside the cantina?

Awesome idea, okumarts. Characters in different gaming situations. You could expand on that. The hat holding guy on the horse is funny. And I admire your overall hardcore design. You are a purist. My eyes stick to the dust clouds under the hooves ... .

Thanks Paladin! Set Two is currently being test built tonight and I should iron out some issues if needed. If I can stay up I'll post the product tonight. IF not I will get it out for Thursday. I added Two Cacti to the set. I will be releasing a "scenics" set later on and I was working on a cactus.

Got any hints about the scenics set? I for one wouldn't mind an entire page full of cacti.
