Whiplash Trigger Western miniatures is a commercial release is coming in the next day or two. They are going to be used for an upcoming game I'm running so I thought I'd release them as my first commercial paper minis.

Just got 'em! Good stuff. I'm not planning on running a western campaign, but I wanted to play around with a project based on westerns. I just happened to be watching Hopalong Cassidy when I came across these. It'd be cool if you could do some mounted cowboy characters. Ain't no Hopolong Cassidy show that's complete without the big horse chase at the end!
I'm thinking I may put together a handful of tiny "electronic" pieces (like computers, communicators, power cells, etc.) or even some little gun augmentations to turn their pistols into slightly more future-y weapons, stuff that can be pasted onto their belts, holsters, etc., for space coboy/Serenity use.
Parduz, point taken with the arms. If it is an issue, simply score the gun arm at the shoulder and have the weapon point forward. Set Two: Horsemen is well on the way with two mounted characters pencilled and inked as of tonight. The set will have five individual characters, a mounted version and an unmounted version. Set Three: Characters is in development and will have a variety of Western archetypes from Lawmen, Grifters, Gamblers, Padres and Bounty Hunters. I think each Archetype will eventually get a set of 10.
Oh, if you could add me to the list on the main website, that'd be sweet. I will definitely return the favour. Tommygun, thanks for the kind words. Set Two should be out for Wednesday. I'll put up a preview Monday.
Response has been great! I am kicking in to full gear and will have the second Western set out for June 1st. Then there will be a Retro/Pulp Sci Fi release (2 actually). After that I will have a few more Western mini sets out in June along with a modern line release. This will be a busy summer!
Awesome idea, okumarts. Characters in different gaming situations. You could expand on that. The hat holding guy on the horse is funny. And I admire your overall hardcore design. You are a purist. My eyes stick to the dust clouds under the hooves ... .
Thanks Paladin! Set Two is currently being test built tonight and I should iron out some issues if needed. If I can stay up I'll post the product tonight. IF not I will get it out for Thursday. I added Two Cacti to the set. I will be releasing a "scenics" set later on and I was working on a cactus.
wyvern: surfduke: You should be able to post links to any files or images already on a website somewhere by just adding the URL when you set-up a post using the full "Create Post" Forum post editor (i.e. NOT the "Quick Reply" version).

wyvern: I've found Photos loading the first image slowly every time I've switched on the computer in recent times. It's been OK after that, but seems like it can't quite remember how to do it just after it's been woken up...

surfduke: Do you want a preview pdf of the Jupiter 2 here? If so how do I post it.

Vermin King: That would explain why 'Photos' loaded slower this weekend. It was 'improved'

wyvern: It wasn't some fresh Windows "improvement" then... I noticed the icon for the MS image viewer, "Photos", changed a few days back as well. Doesn't seem to have changed the app, as far as I can tell. Yet.

lightning: Glad that only a restart was involved. I wouldn't have the energy to much more today :-)

Vermin King: I had a scare and a half. Went to open a pdf for the first time today and nothing happened. Checked All Programs and saw that Reader updated on 05/23. Restarting fixed it. Whew

cowboyleland: I always thought Tirick was a little mad.

Vermin King: Really worn out tonight, so when I'm like that I just look for things I used to have, but don't any more. I got the Zippy models and am rebuilding my Tirick/TCF Gaming folder. How the heck would anyone build his 1/1000 Battletech mechs without enlarging

Toman: yea I have been. pretty cool project. I've done a few scratch builds like that but not as large. cutting individual stones or carving stones in foam sucks.

Vermin King: Anybody else following Mauther's home-made Playmobile castle build? Looks really good so far

cowboyleland: Good point. Maybe make the wing feathers seperately so that the wind could get through them?

squirmydad: We had two operators for the hawk though, one to carry the weight and the other to flap the wings.
May 13, 2020 11:02:25 GMT -9
squirmydad: Probably silk and dowels. I assisted in the construction of a giant hawk puppet for an indoor show, probably about the same size as that pegasus.

Vermin King: It's got to be really light. The article dealt with parade puppets. I don't think I'd want to be trying to control that in a stiff wind
May 13, 2020 4:21:20 GMT -9
lightning: that's a nice pegasus!
May 13, 2020 4:10:32 GMT -9
shep: Will it fly, if you move the wings fast enough?
