I'm experimenting around again, to see if i can't get the hang of manipulating this stuff digitally: Well, it's here. Let's see if it's useful... When I printed this out using right-click and "print", it shrunk it... a lot! I've also got this copied as a pdf. Can anybody give me some advice on how to get a pdf posted here? I ran this image through photobucket. Do I have to do something like that? Have fun, and thanks in advance! Steve

Dagon for sure. Great dynamic lines, Steve ! Problem of resolution/size ? If you load the non-PDF file into GIMP e.g., you can resize the pic easily to your liking. It's that what you mean ? EDIT: checked it in GIMP - 300dpi jpg. The size of a human will fit from the ground level to the left red eye of "Dagon". That's impressive. Still too small ? scale: 1 inch = 5 feet.

Not exactly... If I print out the image straight to my own printer, either jpg or pdf file, the copy comes out the size I wanted. If I try to print out the image by right-clicking on the image here, and selecting "print", then the copy comes out at about 82% the size of the original. What do I have to do so that people can make a copy of this at the right size? I know this may sound like a really noob question, but my neuron pathways were set up in the days of slide rules, manual typewriters and telephone party lines! Oh, and manual keylining and paste up. Back then, when we did "copy and paste," we used real paste. Thanks! Have fun! Steve

Ehm ... strange indeed, Steve. I don't know, I would feed the people here with bare jpg or png, so they can set up their own PDFs, if they want. I for myself had difficulties to print an appropriately sized/resoluted png of mine directly on my home printer. It was printed double-sized. So you never know, what those machines have in mind. If people can download your jpg here with "right click - save image to ...", they should be more than satisfied. Don't complicate the complicated stuff !

I always use dropbox for stuff like that. Just put the pdf in your public folder in the dropbox, then right click the file, Dropbox>Copy public Link, and then just paste it in your post.
Hope that helps.

testing dropbox with jpeg... dl.dropbox.com/u/31506517/underground%20monsterWell, now it comes out HUGE, and I have to use "print preview" and shrink it down to 30% to get it close (a wee small scotchy tad under). I'll try dropboxing the pdf...

My winXP + Firefox downloaded a file without extension. You said this was a JPG so i added it... dunno what's the file name on your HD, i may want to check it Well, now it comes out HUGE, and I have to use "print preview" and shrink it down to 30% to get it close (a wee small scotchy tad under). Yeah! IrfanView tells it is 21.6 x 29.7 cm (or 8.5 x 11.7 inches). You may want to resize the image or increase the DPI. Finally, the PDF links is "private".... maybe the PDF was not in your public folder?

Why didn't anybody tell me I have to pay attention when I'm navigating a site I'm not familiar with :-)

Hope that helps. Thanks, labrat! This post got me to experiment around with dropbox in accordance with Jim's tutorial thread in the Forum & Website HELP section. Now that I know how to post pdfs to One Monk, I'm gonna work on figuring out how to make a multipage pdf so I can post at least one 3-D vehicle model for the forum horde. Have fun! Steve And thanks, paladin and Parduz, also!

Great Model !!
The quick solution for multipage PDFs I use is a virtual printer, Primo PDF. It let's you print to a PDF file, instead of paper. When you print additional files to an existing PDF it gives you the option to APPEND or overwite. Just choose append to create additional pages. It's free and pretty painless to use, so I highly recommend it.

You have me curious about what vehicle you are going to do Me too! I've been thinking about it all afternoon. Something steam powered, I think. That'll give me an excuse to write up some steam pressure rules (I spent six years tending steam engines in the Navy). Have fun! Steve
