Sounds like a wonderful school. Your brother certainly left his mark.
(modified for clarity. Hope my first "draft" didn't seem insensitive.)

The DarkFantasy set Zero is awesome! cannot wait for more PC types!!!
I am purchasing the Orc set as soon as I'm done posting here!
You have helped me discover a great alternative to metal minis!! I love my old lead but just don't have the time (or eyesight) to paint them anymore. The paper minis are not only a time saver but I dig the "old" style look too.
Thanks for making these and I look forward to the Sword and Sorcery sets too!

Hey all, the Wood Elves are out and raising a ruckus! There are 18 original figures, four colour combinations and a hair option! In total there are 66 combinations in this set. I'm really happy with the easter egg in this set. I even used them in my latest game last night. ENJOY! rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=94927

I have a question? Are these "true 28mm" figures, or "Okum-sized?" Your Imperiax were like 42mm (from base to plume), and since I am unfamiliar with the physical make-up of this race, I wasn't sure if all of them were 7 1/2 feet tall? Of course, I just placed my RPGNow.com order on my lunch-break today... wouldn't you know. Heck, I may grab this to help boost you on the Top 100 list tonight (since I am going to buy it anyway... like EVERYONE does when you have a release)! Looks great! ;D

My Wood Elves are based on the 1st ed. D&D books and so the eyebrows/hairline would be considered 30mm. That would make them roughly 5'5". I usually aim for the eyeline to be somewhere between 30-32mm for regular humans, but I also like to mix it up a bit to provide a range of sizes in figures. The Imperiax are a tall, monolithic race of aliens so I made them pretty imposing.

That they are, my friend... that they are! Thanks for clarifying that! I try to do mu humans at 25mm, but after all, they are basically just representing a figure for the race, so I guess I shouldn't worry too much about it then. Thanks for your quick response! I'm off to buy some Wood Elves!

Like the pale cloak versions, I'm going to have to mod the "Eggs" to match. Beautiful set. I'm going to build these up to surprise my brother, he loves wood elves. May I request dryads for some future expansion?

Wow, totally overwhelmed with the feedback and the fact that it is now #1 on RPG Now. That's great! Very much making me want to draw more of these. I actually drew them because I never had a bunch of Elf minis and now finally I do. Thanks very much for your support everyone!

I have a full set already finished (white-cloaked), including the extra layer, and will be adding a set of green-cloaked ones printed in mirror-image to fill out the ranks. If you do draw more, a couple more two-weapon warriors would be nice, and the player of Bramble the Wood Elf in my campaign says more bare-midriff ones (in Savage World rules she has the Very Attractive edge and exposes her stomach for all to see). I personally would like to see a layer of Elven musicians with harps, pan-pipes, drums, and such (hence "the Harper" at the end of my screen name). Dryw the Harper

I must say I love these Elves. I've done a set with white-gray cloaks and a set with green cloaks and now have a massive Elf tribe, I've even modified a couple to ride Xtea's horses. ;D Perhaps this weekend I'll get a chance to take a few pictures.

P.S. Now I'll have to pick up the Orc set to give the Elves their natural enemies.

Awesome work David. I will definitely be picking these up as soon as I get the chance. I like your retro fantasy line a lot. Congrats on being so successful with them. You are well on your way to becoming a legendary designer!

Jeez, thanks everyone! I've really been jazzed with the positive response to the retro fantasy line. Labrat, Kiladecus, wow.. I'm not worthy (to quote a character). Jim, Kiladecus, thanks for the great reviews. 550 + people have downloaded the free set. That's amazing to me. I'm really glad they are enjoying it and I hope it is useful and tons of fun for them. I for one am very pleased to have a tabletop full of minis that I've always wanted. I bought lots of old Citadel minis in the 80s and so I had about 8 orcs and 6-7 elves. I didn't play fantasy for a LONG time and only recently got back into it because of the retro-clone renaissance. Now it's nostalgic and fun and I'm really enjoying it. I think the next few sets will be in other lines, but the next Darkfast releases will be a monster set (Bugbears) and a Dungeon Party Adventurers set. I may actually release the Dungeon Party set as a fairly complicated "build your own" figure set. I will see how this works out. It would be cool to have a page of only what you want. Save you ink and energy in exchange for a bit of your time. These "customizable" sets would be about 5 bucks as they would be difficult to make and have thousands of combinations.

This could imply a lot of PDF scripting, or do you want to do it just by layers?..... which i think it could be even more harder.

Hallelujah!!! When I came back to CBW, I was strucked down by piggy ork's blunt weapon right on my forehead. You really go berserk now with your drawing skills, Okum! (in a positive way, of course). Nice to see, that you do all inking on paper. Not a friend of tablet drawing?

Looking at the Avalon Games stuff has pushed me to get my skirmish system out. I will be organizing material this weekend. It will be a free combat system. The genre sets and other elements will be pay. I like tablet drawing, but I'm really awful at it. Some of my students produce amazing artwork with tablets, but I like the look and feel of paper and ink personally for my own results. Some of my elements were digital, but mostly I use the tablet for 'painting' not drawing. Hallelujah!!! When I came back to CBW, I was strucked down by piggy ork's blunt weapon right on my forehead.
