I just released a Paper Modeling Guide written by Jerry Jensen. It's full of great tips to improve your paper modeling techniques, and it focuses on my models in particular so it'll help you get the best results when assembling my stuff. Download it for free!

This is great! I was going to write one up myself, but a very simplified version, nothing like this!

Oh, this is really great! Thanks so much for picking this up. We should really do this for paper minis too to spread the good word of standees and show what the medium can accomplish! The pictures in your book are great and really showcase your awesome textures.

I knew Jerry had done a fantastic job writing this up and taking the photos, but I really didn't expect even half of the positive comments it's received so far. My models don't get this much praise!
Convincing large numbers of people that paper models are a legitimate alternative to plastic or metal isn't easy. I mean, that's a real hobby. It takes practice and effort, and to get good results you have to try some techniques that seem counter-intuitive. (Dry brushing, inks and washes?)
Maybe I'm lazier than most people, but I gravitate toward paper models because they're quick and easy. But they don't have to be, as proved by Jerry's modeling tricks. I find it very weird to consider that one way to draw in more paper modelers is to show just how much work you can put into them.

Last night I built the Observatory as a way to try how much I could improve with the tips from the guide. Building took around 2.5 hours but the result is simply gorgeous. I put a couple of pictures here: fantalonia.blogspot.com/2011/07/observatory-model.htmlNo misaligned tabs, white edges, wrongly cut, folded or built pieces. And a good 2mm thick cardstock base

That turned out awesome! If you whipped that together in two hours, you made great time.
