I have one of the Apocalyptic Zombie sheets with all kinds of cool zombies. The problem is I only need two specific types of the zombies but I dont want to waste paper printing out a whole bunch to get two per sheet. Is there a way to isolate and duplicate on a single sheet of paper multiple zombies of the same type.
next is there anyone who did some pirate zombies or skeletons?

Whenever I want to isolate and/or scale for printing, I use Inkscape: inkscape.org/It's vector editing software, and free. I've had pretty good luck with using the snapshot tool in Acrobat Reader and pasting directly into an Inkscape file. As for pirate skeletons, The Man himself did one: onemonk.com/downloads (bottom row) Two full sheets, with captain, first mate, and standard bearer. A fantastic set, available for free from the generous hosts of this site.

Whenever I want to isolate and/or scale for printing, I use Inkscape: I just want to add that, the last time i tried it (4 months ago, more or less), it was slow as hell under WinXP, to the point to be almost not usable. I read that it was an InkScape problem that will be solved in the next major version change, so i abandoned it. If you use linux you'll have no problems.

Hmmm, I've never really encountered any big problems... Actually now that I think about it, it does take quite a while to turn out big processes, including importing big images like stuff cut out of a PDF and tracing pixel images into vector, but other than that it seems pretty stable.
I do know that there's a lot of people supporting it, and they do lots of updates.

I use Inkscape without many problems under Windows XP but most of the time when I want to pick some miniatures from a sheet I use Gimp. Just open the selected PDF pages at 300dpi.

Then do you print directly from Gimp?

Then do you print directly from Gimp? Yes. I've printed several minis from PDFs opened in Gimp, especially when scaling them down to 20mm or 15mm. Actually, sometimes when I cut from Gimp and paste in Inkscape the images get larger than they should, as if Inkscape was applying the 72dpi resolution to them. However, I have noticed that Gimp tends to ignore printer margins regardless of my settings -- not really sure if it's a problem on it, or on the printer driver. Anyway, to avoid any surprises, I keep my image sizes around 1" shorter in width and height than a regular sheet of paper -- maybe even a little shorter than that if possible.
