Hello guys... im new around I must be just: i like paper models, specially those in "one monk style", back and front, glued together with that black line around. I like them specially when they come with "3d features", like wings. I little whyle ago i dicovered the "art of puting those minis together" into small 2.5 diorams, im not pretty advanced in the work (i rediscovered paper minis i printed and not cut, in the middle of some papers here), and i am planning to play some Kings of War (from Mantic Games) with them. I had this old sets of one monk laying around in my computer, so when i got some time i will build them "for a real army" . So, that is it, i hope somewhere in near future i start to design my own minis, and them i will post them here. PS: Does the new sale format on the store include "vector parts" of the minis? I really like the Marines, but wanted to re-do poses and add weapons ;D. PS2: There is any "easy fast way" to recolor sets? I was trying to use Gimp with some elves (i want some green and white ones), but got myself "tarpited" in a bunch of layers and copys Thank you guys...

I think Hackbarth had a technique, but the link to google translate isn't working anymore. something about turning all the colours off one by one so you are left with a clean black and white outline. Can someone help out the new guy?

Open your file in gimp. >Alpha to selection. ( you can >Grow selection 1 pixel at this point, but sometimes it thins the lines too much, YMMV) >Clear. >New layer(call it color).
You'll work on this layer. Start selecting each "cell" inside the black lines you SHOULD be left with. (its a good idea to duplicate this layer, call it "outlines".)
>Grow selection 1 pixel. Fill with color and/ or gradient. Rinse, repeat.
Keep your outline layer on top of your coloring layer, but be SURE to keep the coloring layer selected. You could even save your outline layer as a new file so you can re-color more later.
That's the process, in a nutshell. Good luck and welcome to the Forum.

Can someone help out the new guy? The blog is having some hosting problems, but that will be solved in a day or two. Anyway, I explained my method in this thread: cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=hobby&thread=2647&page=1#29092The interesting things in the blog where the screenshots of the proccess.
