Ok, over on Okumarts thread, cat-folk were mentioned, and Hackbarth inspired a thought in my mind about a concept for cat-folk. So here is a three minute sketch that shows what I had in mind. I find it funny to think I used a combination of my techniques (if that is what you would call them) from my Psi-Borg and Undead drawings and my concept sketches from Crater Valley. Attachments:

WARNING: Parduz, please don't critique this drawing! I know you like to point out the issues that are out of whack (like the hands being too small, or the stance being unbalanced), but this was just to try to show my idea.

Wow! You must have your thread bookmarked to you iPhone! ;D Well, of course this picture is over-exposed and SIDEWAYS! I never claimed to be anything great (you can tell this from by quote below)... I just wanted to show what I had in mind. With a basic frame like this, you could throw on a texture that looks like a wolf, a cat, a hyena, and a cheetah. Actually, I drew the tail a little high on the back, and there are many other issues.... but you get the idea. To make it look like a wolf, all you would have to do would be to make the tail a little bushier. Thanks for your attention...

I just thought I posted this somewhere, but posting on your phone at nearly 1:30 doesn't work well hafter getting up at 5:30... Ok... I wanted to demonstrate a way a figure can carry a spear, and it could be switched out for separate weapons. Just trying to suggest something... Attachments:

WOW! These are great! Once again you always offer incredible artwork. I would love to see you finish these! I love the cloaks. It reminds me of a character I used to play that was a catfolk that wore a cloak. Of course, he was a cyborg... this reminds me of the cool figures I need to translate over to paper. Thank you for your inspiration!

I didn't have any pictures of him, so I had to draw this one. It took me longer to post it than it did to draw it... these things happen! Anyway, Lord Avalon had two sons, PANTIERIOUS and XANTHROPHAR. During a skirmish, Xanthrophar was severly wounded. He was taken in by a human, DON MIGUEL SANTOS. Santos saved him by inserting cybernetic implants in his body. Because of this, he was disowned. In an attack on Avalon's Palace, he was mortally wounded, and Xanthrophar took his father to Santos to save him. When Avalon returned, he welcomed his banished son home, but Xanthrophar refused this stating that if he wasn't good enough before... He then became a dark hero and travelled with many companions and became known for his stealth and accuracy on the battlefield. Attachments:

That is so cool! I'd love to see a whole set of this kind of thing. Cybernetic cats with big guns! Woot!

Is this some kind of Bizzaro-World encounter? One of the best artists publishing his, what... 15th set says he wants to see more of this kinda thing? Maybe I misread this. Perhaps he doesn't mean my artwork, but a "real" artist rendering of my idea! I'm sure that's what he said...

The thing I enjoyed the most about my own work was expressing the products of my imagination. I always enjoyed seeing other people expressing the products of their imaginations, too. Dave's experience may make him more aware of some of the intriguing things about your work than you are yourself. I can't do this 2-D stuff as well as you guys can, but my eye is trained, and I can see an appeal in your figures too, kiladecus. Just don't get a big head, and keep on having fun with it. That way it will be fun for other folks, too! Have fun! Steve

Wow! Big head? Me? I would say that I am in the top 150 artists here on the forum... and if there are more than that, I didn't mean to offend anyone! I am an idea man. I come up with game concepts and am trying to think outside the box. I would never consider myself anything over a C+ artist (meaning the grading scale with "A" being above average, and "F" meaning failing). I just try to come up with new ideas that others haven't... (however, whenever I do, someone says that looks like blah, blah, blah that someone did whenever...) oh well, I guess there are many other things that they could say. I love the metal sculpts you have done! You have "lived the dream," Steve. I am always shocked when someone like yourself whom I look up to drops in to offer me an encouraging word. Thank you. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother, and then you or another gifted artist say something to make me pick up the pen once more. Thank you again.
