Hello all, This was a project I was working on a couple years ago. This is a crude model (but it was the very first one I ever did). The arms and assorted weapons are a combination of Mel Ebbles VULCAN ARES mecha. Some other weapons are from TOPO.

Keep in mind, that the yellow one was LITTERALLY colored with markers... Sure, some people use vectors in GIMP or Photoshop, I use CRAYOLA! *This might be a good time to remind you to look at my signature below.* The reason there are two sizes is because I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing... I asked TOMMYGUN to do some textures for me, and he "corrected" the file... making it about twice as big... (I will try to learn how to do this someday).

I recently came up with the idea to redo this in Shuffler... here it is.

Everything on this model was done in SHUFFLER. There were a couple problems I have to resolve with this one...

Here is the actual model I did BEFORE I even heard of Shuffler... HELO color is based on Ebbles colors. Attachments:

It took some digging, but I managed to find these.
Thanks again to TOMMYGUN for giving the design some colors!

These are so awesome. Very retro sci fi. I have to build some soon. I'd love some instructions.

Are these making it into last call on Hoards?

We'll, I will post just the basics. The assembly pictures I have are from the Shuffler version I did the other day. They are *basically* the same... just slightly different. For reference pictures, look at the original pictures... NOT the Shuffler version... especially the legs. Those need some help and resizing... First off, do the fold overs for the feet and armor plates (they are on the original, but NOT on the "new" one).

Next, locate the lower torso (once again, this isn't one the new version, but NEEDS to be... had issues with sizing on the new prototype). This basically folds into a trapazoid, and has flaps on the sides... an no solid sides.

It should look like this when it is done. Now, the exhausts are simply "tubes". Make sure to color the "back" of these with black or dark grey marker so when the roll up, it will have a dark "inside"

The torso/cockpit is a simple box with a couple angles on the corners...

Glue the frame in a "loop" then fold the sides down (like you would wheels). Pretty cut and dry... (or in this case, "cut, and allow the glue to dry").

Next, glue the lower torso to the main body. The legs (on the center of the page) fold into boxes... BUT MAKE SURE TO LEAVE THE HIP FLAP UP. It does NOT get folded over. This becomes the side of the lower torso. EDIT: I see where my problem lies! I forgot about the hip accuators! That is why my new version didn't work right. The Hips fold up and the go on either side of the lower torso with the armored side facing OUT! The leg tab will line up with that and get glued to this. The feet get glued onto the base of the legs, and you can either have the front toes at 9, 12, and 3 OR 10 and 2 positions. Either way seems to work, and you don't need a diferent base. Finally, you can fold the super-charged engine into the back. It is basically a sloped box (the pointy end faces down). The exhausts get glued onto the top of the engine (once again, left off the new model). If you have issues with the file downloads, or questions about assembly, let me know! I can dig out the original models and take better pictures OR even print one out and do a better step-by-step walk-through. Let me know!
