Hey Y'all! I made a game called Joystick Fighter! Here's how you play: you make a joystick out of rolled and taped paper, put rolled tape on the front of the joystick, put the fighter's head or top half on the rolled tape, and twist the character to fight another one controlled by your friend or yourself. Fighters can have "power spots," areas that are thickened to make the hits harder. Some fighters have it on their arm, others on a leg, and some have both. If someone uses a weapon, then that's where their power spot is mostly. For example, most of the characters I made so far have power spots on their right leg, and they have flaps to put on the back side of it. You fill it up with either mounting putty, paper tubes, or clay, then fold the flaps over and glue them on the other side. This is why some of their legs look big. Also, you bend the left one slightly, so it's like a half cylinder. You also cut the arms and legs partially off, but about half, not all the way. I tried this game with my friends and it is REALLY fun and addictive. The figures here are work in progress. I will add shading later.
Happy Dragon
He is a 500-year-old Chinese man with the slight appearance of a Chinese Dragon. He wears armor, a belt that says the Chinese word for "cuddly" on the front and back, and black shorts. He's very wise, smart, resourceful, big, strong, cute, cuddly, and sexy. I make templates for my males and females, but I copied off of Slimyscaly's body, but I'll later use my newer male template for him to make him look more masculine. He hosts the Joystick Fighters Championship every year, and is the owner and instructor of a world-famous Kung Fu academy in his palace in Beijing. He's also a good cook, and makes many great dishes. Little-known fact: He has Asperger's Syndrome, which is similar to Autism, and I also have Asperger's.
Lai Ming:
Alternate Outfit:
She's Happy Dragon's 36-year-old lead student, who's Chinese-American. Her dad trained with Happy Dragon when he was younger, and later moved to America, married, and had Lai Ming. She can turn into a Tigress, which I'll make a tigress form of her later. She is all about power and kicks with her larger-than-life thighs (I based her on Chun Li, obviously), and her beauty. She's been training and living with Happy Dragon since she was 12. Her qipao skirt is off to the side, as I forgot to put it on her as a preview. It's separate, as well as Happy Dragon's gear.
Flip Flops:
Her alternate outfit:
Flip Flops is a 16-year-old high school girl from the USA. She is shy and likes to keep to herself and make paper models and play video and computer games. She is part of the small female population with Asperger's, and when she searched for famous people with Asperger's on her PC, she found Happy Dragon. The more she read about him and watched his fights, the more she became interested in martial arts, trained, took Karate classes, and then she decided to fight in the Joystick Fighters Championship this year. She, Happy Dragon, and Lai Ming became very close friends.
Eric (I've only done the alternate outfit so far, I'll do the main one later.):
Eric is a 40-year-old kickboxer/mixed martial artist/street brawler from the USA, and is very arrogant and used to be an evil crime boss who tried to take over the world. Now he just fights. He's a little narcissistic, and loves his "rods of disaster," his muscular and powerful legs, which rival Lai Ming's.
Kendo Joe:
He's an American Kendo fighter, and he decided to enter the tournament. His wooden sword was even cleared for competition by Happy Dragon! His legs aren't that big, just his pants are very loose and floppy. His power spot is completely in his sword, and can kick, but not very strong. And not to mention he always wears pants!!
Davey-J-Yoshi:
The most controversial Yoshi, Davey-J is my Yoshi persona. He doesn't have a storyline or is even in the tournament, I just made him cause I wanna make my other characters just for fun, and I'll also include my other personas, like Slimyscaly. He fights in Randleton (a country I made up where he lives) and the USA.
Soon to be included:
Ryosuke Miyamoto: A Japanese Karate fighter.
Denny Jackson (Screamin' Eagle or S. Eagle): An American Karate fighter who's also a sprint car driver.
Ninja Dude: A random fundoshi-wearing ninja from Japan. He fights with two small swords, and his right leg is a light power spot. I already made him, I'll show him to you later.
Bachenfeld: An 18-year old kickboxer from Austria. He is really big and adorable, and likes music.
Fizzypop: A 16-year old kickboxer from Florida, USA. He's a little slim, and drinks lots of Mountain Dew, and it caused his eyes to have blue ovals around them and need glasses. He is usually hyper-caffeinated and happy.
Dale Chan: Just another old Bruce Lee parody.
A lot of these characters are based on archetypes from fighting video games. Like Ryosuke, the white-gi-and-headband-wearing Japanese protagonist, S. Eagle, the red-gi-wearing, fast-car-loving All American who rocks a crazy blonde hairdo, and Lai Ming, the kung-fu-qipao woman. But there are some more interesting ones, like Happy Dragon, who's role is based on someone like Lau and SHun Di from Virtua Fighter, Gen Fu from Dead or Alive, or Gen from Street Fighter, old, Chinese, and wise but he's something you don't see too often: a human Chinese dragon. Also, Bachenfeld is based on Ludwig von Koopa and Fizzypop is based on Iggy Koopa, with their appearance and personalities, but it's less obvious than some of the others. Tell me what you think, but PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, don't bash on how big the legs are!! I am working on that and I know that's not anatomically correct. I was on YoshiArt forums and most people complained about the characters' legs. I will make the lower legs bigger, though. Remember this is a work in progress. I'll release character packs in PDFs, and also in the works is a completely weapons-based fantasy anthropomorphic game using this system! Joystick Fighter is a fighting video game you play on your table and is rated T for Teen; mild suggestive themes and animated violence!
