Excellent start on this. The textures really pop. How large do you envision the model? How many pages?

Thanks Guys ;D texturing is taking a looong time.. but i think it will be worth it.. Well the tip of a leg above without the brass joint (textured image) is about 1/4 A4 so the whole model should be around 200mm high and about 250mm deep... But ill not know for sure till the first build which i normally do before texturing but due to the size and complexity im skipping for now. At the moment its 9 A4 pages, I dont see that changing as its 9 packed pages. here is one of the leg pieces ive been working on today:

MAN!
Do I ever love the textures!
I didn't really have much interest in this model till I saw the textures!
Now... I gotta have!
Have fun! Steve

Steve, I know where you are coming from. Sort of like TommyGun's Blimp. This is cool and I want to watch it develop, but then a line is crossed where it isn't just cool, but you really want it, even if you don't have a use for it. I'm imagining this sitting next to TG's Blimp on the shelf over my desk.

Thank you!! ;D I think my textures have improved since the last model I did... hmm i think it might be a bit bigger than i anticipated. I did a quick one page print just to see if the textures will print out ok and if the parts are big enough and it seems a bit big. This is just one leg. I might shrink it down slightly when im finished. Unshrunk the main platform will be able to carry about 6 (squad) 30mm figures. I'll have to make the shadows a bit darker as well, they dont quite pop in print as they do on screen.

I was actually thinking of starting a new video series on youtube that shows the assembly of paper models and tips and tricks. however having test builders and someone photographing it will be very helpful!... I want to see LOTS of pictures of how its used and in game play's hehe know all about the wife complaining about space, I recently moved countries (well a year ago) and it seemed like an opportune moment to "loose" the box with the models in. Hence no photo updates on my miniature-games.com website... but its ok, they were gathering dust for a few years.

That thing is enormous! The textures look awesome and I can't wait to see this behemoth assembled and on the battlefield.

Those Daleks in the background need to watch out.
I prefer build photo type instructions with number references. Face it, there are many languages represented in our community. Written instructions leave some folks out of the loop. In spite of Google Translate.
For this type of craft, it should be big. Leave it up to the builder to shrink it. He can always print out at two pages per page or 4 pages per page to shrink it down to his/her own needs. Shrinking is easy. Enlarging sometimes yields problems.

HA! I didnt even see the daleks there good advice on the leaving it to builder to shrink... the texturing is taking a bloody long time... I'm very happy to do / allow someone else to do a photo build, I will in anyway also do a YouTube build ..

ok a quick update for you all...
As some of you know, this is the first model i have created in years. Some day I might tell them whole hellish story i have been through with Miniature-games.com
Anyway since starting the model I have had such an amazing welcome, feedback and support that have ended up creating my real first set of figures as well.
The model is in the final stages of texturing, 2 "Sons of Holmes" (man with top hat and lady with sword) figures have been completed and 6 unique poses of the "Moriarty shock troopers" have been drawn and needs colouring. Ill flip them so there will be about 12 troops when completed.
Im then planning on adding troops to the "Sons of Holmes" army and some named / command figures to the "Moriarty army"
I have not yet decided to whom the spider crawler belongs, but my next models will likely be a all terrain steam train, some form of robot troopers, some form of areal vehicle and then along the line some houses and bases...
a back story and game has been brewing out of all of this... All I can say its based on events after the "murder" of sherlock holmes by the hands of Moriarty.
Not sure if you guys know the mythology and stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle but Sherlock Holmes disappeared and was believed to have been killed by Moriarty. His body was never found...
first set of figures should be out next week with the spider crawler following soon after...

I think U.N.C.L.E. was supposed to have been started by Holmes while T.H.R.U.S.H. was a creation of Moriarty. I'm looking forward to this.

Ok.. first build.. lots of little issues. I need to go back and rebuild the whole bottom chasis. I made some big changes before but new problems came up. I ripped some of the printing off while repositioning the legs so its not the best example but will give you a good idea of the look and feel. I will upload photos later with a few miniatures for scale Attachments:

Phew yes.. it was about a three quater day build, its not that its complicated to build, its just got a lot of parts... and i soooo hate cutting out the parts.
you'll notice i havent added all the chimneys, guns to the turent or even the second turent yet. I got a bit impatient and just wanted to show the bad boy off.
the legs are fully posible and can be adjusted to fit any pose but i would suggest sticking it with blue tack or some other material that can be removed easier before doing the glue. I had to rip or cut bits of the legs off when i wanted to reposition them. (you can see where the printing pulled of on one of the front legs)
You cant see it in these photos but the back bottom torso is still a mess and I will do another redesign over the weekend.
hehe yes you should be able to mount any weapon on the back platform.
