Pathfinder Bestiary Box. Looks interesting. Cardboard standees are becoming the "norm" in gaming as people are losing interest in pogs. I have no interest in pogs I will admit. www.icv2.com/articles/news/21740.html

A so-called "friend" of mine has already challenged me to do backs for all of these when they come out. I don't think I'm interested in doing that. I did hear rumours about the artist who did the beginners box looking into doing backs.

I'm not thrilled by them, but I do think they are better than "cut out your own" pogs, that were the norm in D&D 3E.
Not up to our modelling standard either, but a nice way for a new gamer to get 250 models(?) in one swoop without and labor or wear and tear on their printer.

While I like the figs from the Beginners box, it just seems to be that Pathfinder is a high production value money pit like D&D: $40 for the beginners box, $35 for the bestiary box, $40 for the core book, another $35-40 for the bestiary. I'll stick with our lot.

What I found interesting is that it "normalizes" people's expectations of character representations from metal or plastic figures to cardstock standees, thus increasing people's acceptance and interest in paper figures that can be printed as often as you like and even customized. I think this is a shift in consumer tastes to accept standees as more mainstream gaming accessories.

And wait until someone who's opened that box and thought 'brilliant' comes on here and sees what's available.
