HEY! Thanks for asking! I can't tell you how discouraging it is when no one takes notice of your projects. Even a simple question like yours is a big motivation for these 'labors of love'. I have posted a zip file that has all the rules in their current form and the two armies I have done: humans and dwarves. I have actually done the Faeries as well but still need to post them (you have motivated me to do that ASAP). Yes I know the 'play-test' rules are not very pretty but if they are changing, it's easier to use this format. As for your actual question, I still have at least three more armies to 'convert' and then a ton of formatting and pictures. I also want to do some hobby guides ('how to assemble a paper mini', 'basing options', etc...). Aaron needs to get me more paper minis so I can do some cool pictures too. Really I bite off more than I can chew sometimes and that makes schedules stretch on longer than they should. It WILL be released before the end of the year. I could see it still taking another six months before the finished product is available though. SHORT ANSWER: 6-8 months

... SHORT ANSWER: 6-8 months I'm happy. Labrat has enslaved for more gorgeous figures ( they are the top quality today ). ;D But 6/8 months are too long time for me. So ... I would like also buy first edition. But on paypal site ( shipping to Italy ) there is only 6$ for shipping cost. I think that it is with USP service. The problem there is when parcel arrives in Italy. It may be lost, broken or delivered after months. You use paypal, and I have a paypal account, is it possible talk about other shipping forms ( like an international courier or a fast shipment as amazon.com ) on PM? Ciao

Ahhh Crap! Now I have to get busy for real. Nik's throwing deadlines around and somebody actually wants to play the game.

Nik any thoughts to release a version in .mobi format? So it cascades nicely on e-readers et al. Are mobi files for kindle? I plan to buy a Kindle when amazon.it will sell new models ( now there is only one. new basic, 2 GB, for 99 Euros - 129 U.S. $ ). but I need wi-fi, 3G and 4 GB. Or you recommend me other models?

Nik any thoughts to release a version in .mobi format? So it cascades nicely on e-readers et al. I don't have much experience with converting pdfs to .mobi but if there's demand I'd certainly do it. Probably even if there's not demand I'd do it since I like to play around with new stuff. I've only got access to the iOS and Android platforms and they read pdfs nicely so someone else would have to tell me if the .mobi files work or not. If it would get you to read the playtest rules (and offer suggestions) I'll convert them right now!

Rhannon I got one of the last keyboard kindles as I do a little bit of web surfing etc on it and the external keyboard works slightly better. From what i've read In the new range. I'd avoid the base model branded "kindle" it is pretty cut down features wise. "kindle touch" would be the minimum I'd go for. I don't find the 3G that useful as I'm normally in a wi-fi zone when I'm using it, but depending on were you plan on using it you might find it more useful.
Nik for mobi files you basically setup a very simple doc/odt with 3-4 simple styles make sure any images are given no wrap and lay it out on A6 pages (the A6 just gives you a feel for approximate layout look) then the software does the conversion for you. Best thing about the format is a lot of smartphones/iphones can read the mobi format so it formats the text nicer when you view it on there smaller screens as well. I manually converted the flyign lead rules over but it was painful as I had to manually copy/paste the text and images out of the pdf into anew document and then convert that to mobi, the pdf to mobi conversion just looked terrible....

IMO, your bellicose project is great. But I think it has not much promotion. One way to increase it would be to take some time and build up a great photo gallery where your big armies clash and put these battles online. It would show what is possible with paper minis and what Sanity studios vision is.
I would also create a good background story and nice battle reports of your home battles for the armies to spark some fantasy in the readers mind. Look at GW. Many people love their miniature game but also their background world.

Hey Enpeze, Thanks for your comments. Yes I do think we have a lack of 'buzz' around Bellicose. Maybe I still feel like it's in development so I don't promote it as much as I should. It is a great idea for the photos (and something we very much plan on doing). This picture is a very small taste of what I have planned all throughout the book. I will also be redoing the Sanity Studios website with a wordpress theme so I can post updates in the blog area about Bellicose more readily. Hopefully that will generate more interest when others can see what we are working on. There is a bit of backstory to Bellicose but as I'm more of a game designer and less of a writer it is not the main focus. In fact, all of the game history has been written by someone other than myself. Here is a very outdated blog about some of the lore of Bellicose (outdated only in it hasn't been updated for a while, still current with the history of Bellicose). I'm actually open to any further developments of the 'fluff' of the game should anyone feel inclined.

I think here would be a good spot for some updates. I've been greatly side tracked and that doesn't help get 2nd Edition Bellicose done any faster I've made a new Wordpress theme for sanitystudios.com which I hope to put up but before I can do that I need to make sure the Faerie army is still available and put over on One Monk's website. I will be taking down the Horde army since they were our first and need to be redone to standup to the same quality we now produce. I'll be releasing the Faeries in a different format (read as groups of figures not filetypes) to match our current unit-style releases (we don't do whole armies any more, we develop a unit more fully now). I need to take new pictures though before they can be put up. So to summerize: Faerie Pics -> Faeries up on One Monk -> New WP site for sanitystudios.com I'm hoping with a new, easier to update, site I can generate more interest/motivation/focus to develop more on v2 of Bellicose. Don't forget the rules are currently available as is with three armies: Dwarves, Faeries, & Humans.
