Hi! I'm Harry, and I am a hobby addict. I prefer papercraft scenery to use alongside my 28mm metal and plastic miniatures, and am not afraid to mix and match my hobby media. I game sci-fi, fantasy, and historical (including Ancients, Dark Ages, Renaissance, and World War II Pacific Theater (oddly in both 28mm infantry and 3mm aircraft.)
And, finally, I can't myself fully believe that, but, we are about to release. In the first half of September wait the starter set on Wargame Vault. There's gonna be two squads of infantry 12 men and 2 heavy weapons teams each; two vehicles (kind of battle jeeps); lore for them; the world map with some lore for it. If it goes well, we plan to release 1-2 new sets (a squad of infantry, or a vehicle with some support materials) monthly.

This project looks really interesting. I think the idea to do a rule-agnostic release is really smart. There are enough rulesets available and in this ways the gamer can choose the appropriate level to suit his of her tastes (skirmish, platoon, etc.) Not putting any efforts in rule development and translation frees the authors up to concentrate on developing the models and the setting. I like the fact that a (seemingly interesting) setting is included in the release, this will allow the release to stand out from other releases. I am very eager to see the first release.

We, actually, have developed the rules to play these figures. It's a variation of GZG's Stargrant ruleset changed and adapted for the setting and gameplay. But first images and setting appeared, then it developed into something we wanted to play at, and only after that I translated Stargrant into Russian. Only at a very final stage rules influenced lore and models. You will, probably, notice that in the sets dedicated to psionic fighters, and in the airplanes models. But both of us kept in mind that the figurines and models should be suitible for any system, and the background should also be a world description, not a rulebook novellization. The lore can be described as a "post-apocalyptic western". Most of all it was inspired by Russian SciFi novel "The Inhabitant Island" by Strugatsky bros., but the setting is also close to that from The Postman by D.Brin, or No Truce with Kings by Paul Anderson
lightning: Right now I actually feel well. It was just in the last 6 weeks or so it was a bit of a roller coaster.

Vermin King: Get well soon, sir

lightning: I also had several symptomatic weeks (including asthma and just feeling weak but no fever). Reading that I am not alone makes me feel better:-)

Vermin King: This may not make sense in countries that do not have Daylight Savings Time, but Mike at PM.com posted 'Who would’ve guessed that we were turning the clocks ahead from Standard Time to the Twilight Zone?'

shep: Also, all the best for the rest of you lot. Stay save, get well, whatever you need!

shep: Great sentiment, @coyotepunc! All the best for your son, and get well yourself, too...

Coyotepunc: Thanks, guys. He's still pretty sick, but no trouble breathing. So we are staying away from the hospitals, so the people who truly need them can use them.

squirmydad: My supervisor's state of mind; she's been climbing the walls begging to put us back in the game. All of Maintenance and Administration are still out, but my supervisor wants to invent projects to bring us back in.

Vermin King: So, essentially, what was so essential today?
Apr 7, 2020 13:16:18 GMT -9
squirmydad: I've been declared "Essential" for today only. Off to work, paper-crafting tonight then.

Vermin King: Two months?!? I need to stop whining. Where's my Wambulance?

wyvern: Anecdotally, a number of people seem to have been ill with a protracted 'flu-like illness since last winter (NOT Covid-19). I had 'flu for two months from mid December myself. Unhelpfully, my symptoms included cough + fever, identical to Covid-19.
Apr 7, 2020 4:26:04 GMT -9
Vermin King: Best of luck with that, Coyotepunc. Being sick since 03/17, I can somewhat relate to your condition, but I don't have the worry of my kid having problems on top of my own. All the best, sir

alloydog: @coyotepunc - even at 30+, they still yer babies! Not that they appreciate being called that!
Apr 7, 2020 1:14:36 GMT -9
alloydog: Of course, it doesn't help if the mucus is in the trachea.
Apr 7, 2020 1:13:33 GMT -9
alloydog: old squirmydad mentioned fennel tea. If that sort of thing is not for you, or is hard to get, I saw a WHO video where they said to drink plenty of warm/hot drinks, such as tea, coffee, even milk, because it helps shift mucus from the throat to the stomach.

Coyotepunc: So it's going to be a long night of taking his temp every hour... he's 19 but still my baby
Apr 6, 2020 17:56:28 GMT -9
Coyotepunc: I've been dealing with a variety of covid-19 symtpoms since January, except for the fever (12% of cases have no fever.) My kid woke up with almost all the symptoms including high fever today.

squirmydad: Bag is handy, if you find it loose use the seeds, but then you need something like an infuser or it's a mess.
Apr 6, 2020 7:24:51 GMT -9
shep: most likely bag...
