Some next WIP infantry types previews ( from different factions ): The seventh update is online ( there are some fixes to infantry and vehicles, and perhaps some new vehicles. My Russian language knowledge, also using google Ttransaltor, is too weak to be able to understand well. I'm sorry ):

OK guys. A small new overview about "Steel Warriors". Premise: I haven't spoken enough with the author ( my friend Dima ) and his collaborators upon it. So what I'm writing now is mainly my personal supposition ( and hope ) but, in broad terms, this could be corrected. So ... What's "Steel Warriors"? A big wargame project that uses paper minis and cardboard models and vehicles ( and all other components ). But first of all it's a great dream. A beautiful ( imho ) dream. By a passionate guy on sci-fi, game, papercraft modeling ... I hope that in his final revision of all components aren't connected obliged language ( cards, tokens ... ) ( I'm sorry I don't know how to express this in a correct English language ) so it will be sufficient to translate the rules to make this an international project/product. ... We'll see ... Efforts are not only on the continuous improvement of components and rules but also the setting becomes more detailed ... In short this is a (near sci-fi) post-war (or post-apoc) world, where two major factions ( and their allies ) still clash each other. With independent marauders bands, radiation, chemical attacks ... Everything. I hope I can give better information in the near future. It's still a long time wip project. I suppose there will be at least another year, probably more. But I think that hurry has always been the enemy of the good done things. Each faction has several different special troops (and vehicles). Each set has at least a dozen different unique figures ... There will be dozens of different vehicles, and I suppose also other models. This project was born in 2007 ( ok it's a long time, but the real life takes its time and while the author has improved his skills. Today Dima is not only a great artist but also he is very specialized in wargaming - hint ). So today I thought I'd write a small summary ( unfortunately only as I can. English and Russian are not my native languages ), present some new preview, give some small spread information and make the commitment to update this thread with better information about setting, rules, time ... when possible. I'm pretty sure that even those who are not interested ( without knowing? ) to know these new sci-fi skirmish rules and setting will see certainly the great potential usefulness for these hundreds of near sci-fi paper minis and dozens of vehicles. Steel warriors official page ( in Russian ): Tomoko's Paper Miniatures( PS: I think VK is a kind of Russian facebook, less invasive ) The last free update pdf demo ( wip ) set, with paper minis and vehicles, already fully usable: sw_bfe_miniatures_update_007.pdfThe full 2013 album with 64 unique paper minis, eight vehicles with crew and twelve bonus figures: 2013_sw_album_doomsday_edition.pdf ( 68 pages - 65 MB ) A very big zip file ( 170 MB ) with all old ( very old, 2007-2012 ) Tomoko's paper minis and 2D models: steel_warriors_battle_for_empire_archiveLatest news and images ( for today ) :"Steel Warriors" faction line concepts: 1. infantry 2. Mirror Battalion ( I think it's a kind of mechanized infantry, but I'm not sure ) 3. Android 4. Robot 5. Special Forces 6. Executor 7. Steel Avengers 8. Mech-Infantry ( I think it's a kind of exoskeleton troops ) Steel Avengers - commandos from specially bred experimental androids Executor Mirror Battalion "Steel" Mech-Infantry Lyaryan motorized infantry Robots ( highly intelligent fighting machines ) Steel Warriors ( Infantry )

Hello, everyone!
I'm really glad people like Tomoko's art. I joined him in 2008, I guess, 'cause I was interested in his deawings. I asked him what they were about and he told me, that he could draw, but couldn't invent the story. While I can't draw at all, but a good teller. Since than, it happens like that: Tomoko draws something (say, a sodier), and I erite about it: what nation he belongs, what kind of force he is in, what weapons and equipment he is armed, who an when developed that weapons etc. That inspires Tomoko to draw something more and more detailed, which inspires me to write more, which inspires Tomoko...
So, now we have rather a big setting, with a big story. We are thinking of developing several sets of miniatures and vehicles to sell pdf files for reasonable prices. The main idea is to make a "playable pairs": a list of infatry squad and AFV of one side, and a list of squad and AFV of their enemies.
In the closest plans (for the winter) is rifle squad (15 figures) of Keno infantry and a medium tank Vs infanry squad of Lianra supported with APC.
Later (if it goes) there are plans for "Keno infantry against barbarians", "Heavy equpped Kenos against Lianra clone infantry", "barbarian band Vs psionic snipers".
Setting now consists of four big and three small factions (plans for them): Lianra (high tech, low poulation): -- Infantry squad; -- Android (Clone infantry) squad; -- "Mirror batallion" squad; -- Special force squad; -- Elite squad; -- Tank crew; -- Punitive squad; -- Armour-suit squad; -- Jeep; -- Cargo truck; -- Wheeled APC; -- Tracked APC; -- 3-5 tanks -- 2-3 self-propelled artillery; -- 3 artillery; -- Attack helicopter; -- Figfter-bomber airplane. Keno (low tech, more population): -- 13 different squads of infantry and cavalry (2 in priority list, 2 are ready); -- 2 jeeps (ready) -- Truck (in priopity list); -- 3 APC (2 in priority); -- 7 tanks (3 ready, 2 in priority); -- 7 pieces of different artillery; -- Helicopter and attack plane.

Other factions are: --- Otlok (low tech), Keno ally. - 5 squads of infantry (2 in priority); - 11 different vehicles and cannons (3 ready, 4 in priopity); - Attack plane (low tech) -- Otlok insurgents (subfaction), Lianra ally. - 4 squads of infantry and cavalry.
--- Alana (High tech), Lianra ally. - 6 squads (2 in priority); - 13 different vehicles and artillery (1 in priority).
Smaller factions:
--- Korda barbarians (unreliable Lianra ally). - 2 squads (1 ready); -- Korda tribe of Lerkteyo (Keno ally) - 3 squads (2 in priority).
--- Gaulada barbarians (unreliable Lianra ally). - 4 squads (3 in priority). - 3 different vihicles (1 in priority)
--- Barf-Jat psionic nomads (multifaction).
--- Armed civillians (multifaction) -1 or 2 squads - 2 or 3 jeeps and truck

news update: from the authors ( Dima and "tengel" ): " ... 78 infantry miniatures ready for the moment. Other sevenfold crop - and the entire project will be completed ( only for the infantry ) ..."as said Tengel this new update is scheduled for January 8. Circumstances permitting. They are not whole combat squads, but one/two figures for each infantry units scheduled in the "Steel Warriors" setting. That's why at the end of the project these figures, all unique, will be about 550 (probably something more). I don't have words about the quality and the size of this project. Hundreds of gorgeous near/low sci-fi paper minis used with all ( rpgs, wargames ... )I just remain madly amazed. Congratulations guys! :-)

Happy New Year! 2016 From "Steel Warriors" Development Team ( Tomoko & Tengel ): ... Dear friends!
Our team wishes you a Happy New Year! We wish you all the best and that you have everything planned - was done.
This year was been difficult, but he was critical for the project. What has been done? In April, the project has been reincarnated, graphics - has increased significantly compared to minis' previous versions.
We can already safely say that in the future the visual will not change until the end of the project.
Between April and today we drew 83 paper miniatures and nine other cardboard models. And finally we have good playable rules for "steel" paper minis.
The new update will be released on January 8. Before the new year there was no time to gather all the ready materials, and now, during the Christmas holidays, will be possible to complete everything planned.
Once again, Happy New Year!
The Development TeamPS: I apologize for my rough translation :-) ...

Now is the right time. With the Orthodox Christmas ( best wishes to all Orthodox friends ) comes the eighth update about the world of "Steel Warriors" A pdf 21.5 MB file with with over ninety unique paper minis ( at least 45 are new ) and a dozen vehicles. This is only my opinion but all are really gorgeous. Tomoko's Paper MiniaturesDocumentssw_bfe_miniatures_update_008.pdfNote: If any link doesn't work then you need a VK account. It is really simple and imho VK is totally non-invasive. But in the end it's your choice. From the project team ( Tomoko and Tengel ): Dear Friends, Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!
And, as a present for your attention, there is the eighth update about "Steel Warriors" world miniatures!
What's new in this update?
1. 45 new promo infantry miniatures - Regarding almost all factions and almost all infantry varieties in the game..
2. The light tank destroyer "Hara"
It was to be the last update for the current format. But I think there will also be the ninth update, which will include the remaining 23 figures concepts, the remaining 12 otloka fighters figures and the remaining 12 gauladov figures. After that, the project will move from pre-alpha to the alpha and miniatures will be divided into fractions on a number of albums.
In the meantime, cut out, glue, write your opinion, add photos to our empty minis album
Your teamNote: I apologize for the rough translation and for any mistakes. It's not easy for me to do a proper Russian-Italian-English translation.

All the new 45 paper minis in their glory ( note: all figures have proper front and back art ): OK. That's it for now. There are also many vehicles but as most people know here I go crazy especially for paper minis. This is really a big project. For size, time ( it takes a few years ) and authors' efforts. For now it is totally free. I think that "free" often doesn't make right credit to all that are required (time, effort, quality ...). But in the end this is the choice of the two authors. So I don't ask for money or paypal donations ( But this is my choice. I love paper figures. I have no personal skills so this is my way for some years now ) but at least, for those who appreciate these figures and this choice, I would ask for a little support. With an explicit appreciation ( appreciation and encouragement often serve more than some bucks ), if anybody like these figures and this project, with photos ...

As for minis. Here you can see samples of several factions. The key setting of the minis is the Post-nuclear war "on a distant planet in a galaxy far away". More than sixty years has passed since the civilisation burnt itself in the thermonuclear fire. New nations have risen on the debris of the old world, and new conflicts exploded into new war. What we have here: 1-13 Forces of the Empire of Keno, huge land with little population, like rural areas of Siberia, little roads, and it's industry has just been restarted. Keno army is big, but relatively low tech. 1. Keno infantryman ("rifler"). Full squad is planned. 2. Soldier of Keno motorised rifle division (moto-rifler). 3. Keno rifler, wearing assault gear. 4. Keno guards division soldier. 5. Keno special force ("Osnaz"). 6-7. Keno elite troops. 8-11. Keno tank crew (no more figures planned). 12. Guards tank division crewman (three more figures planned). 13. Civillian\resister\guerilla.
14-29. They are Keno enemies, the Republic of Lianra. They managed to preserve a huge industrial (machinery-produsing) complex. So, they have very hi-tech army. But they have relatively little land, with a terrible climate (like nothern Siberia) and restricted natural resources. Their population is low, and there's a problem to feed it. Lianra army is hi-tech, but low-numbered. That's the nature of war: Lianra can't develop without Keno lands, but Keno doesn't want to surrender them.
14-15, 20-21. Lianra infantry soldiers (different divisions). 16,19,22 Lianra infantry oficers. 17-18. Soldiers of Clone divisions (19-Clone division officer). 23. Tank crewman. 24. Lianra "Combat self-propelled semi-automated unit". 25. Lianra armour-suit. 26. Special force. 27. Elite force. 28. Clone punitive force. 29. Keno warrior at Lianra service.
30-31. Soldier and officer of Alana, Lianra allied country.
32-39. Forces of Otlok. Otlok Commonwelth was a nation on the brink of civil war. When the war started, government of Otlok joined Keno alliance, and Otlok rebels fought for Lianra. 32-35. Otlok infantry (irregulars and rebels). 36-39. Otlok tank crew.
40-41. Korda barbarians. Kords attacked and raided southern provinces of Keno. Almost all Korda clans and tribes fought against Keno at war. But the most powerful Korda chieftan Lerkteyo was Keno ally.
40-41. Lerkteyo warriors.
42-45. Another barbarian folk: Gaulada. 42. Soldier of the "Brotherhood", an army of gaulada mercenaries, which Lianra organised and armed to attack lands of Keno and Otlok from their rear. 43-45. Wealthiest and mightiest warriors of Gaulada.

Otlok territorial defence infantry is completely ready now. Including HMG and mortar crew. So, now we have two factions, ready for battle: - Keno (infantry, car, 5 AFVs, tank crewmen); - Otlok (infantry, car, 3 AFV, tank crewmen). Two more factions of 'barbarians' can be used as allies, mercenaries or lesser enemies.

The new "Steel Warriors" update is online. It's a 74 pages and 150 MB PDF file ( new figures: Gaulad militantsm / new vehicle: Otloksky "Dzor-Zoulor" tank and one locomotive / new terrain elements: railway pieces ). Starting with this update project goes into alpha version. The album includes three "barbaric" and two "civilized" factions, as well as a variety of models ( especially vehicles but also buildings )and terrains elements. Yet this time the various factions were not shared in specific albums. So as not to delay publication. ... And now some very beautiful pics ( imho ) from a battle-test posted by Tengel Of course all the description ( in Russian language ) of the game and many other photographs ( as well as history, settings, Steel Warriors' lore ) is on the official page of the game: Tomoko's Paper Miniatures. Ciao.

Hi. Do someone know if the download section on the tomoko Steel Soldiers site is going to be restored? Thanks!!! My fault. Because of many personal issues I have not updated this topic. I'm sorry. Within a few days I will provide with new photos and precise news. Meanwhile, in short this will become a commercial project ( at least in Russia and if there will be no changes of intentions ) but when it will be completed. in a few years (there is a timetable). There is no longer a download section but the new paper minis will still be distributed free of charge. But for short periods. about a week each. The next one is at the end of year. But I am not quite sure of this, and then I intend to confirm this news within a few days. ( This is me and my beloved female german shepherd Lara ) Talk to you soon. Ciao
