Hmmm... my wish list (just for the start!): -Greek Trireme Personally can't wait! Well, if you can't wait, here's a drommond. It's not a trireme, but it works.

Thanks afet! But still... whole series, with unified art-style and Dave's high quality, would be awesome

I'm certainly keen on this. The lanteen sails are one of many features I've been looking for.

Cue the Jaws music! The Marauder Ship is nearly ready for release. I'm using the original design (see below) -- definitely more fantasy than historical. The majority of the texturing is done -- just need to do the sails and add a few details. Hoping to have this all finished up in about a week.

I'm so glad you came back to this. It's a lovely model! It makes my modelling a little awkward and my typing slower, but I will keep my fingers crossed that you will be able to make some of the additional variants you teased us with in this thread. I don't know why I love ship models so much - I'm not much of a nautical guy - I don't even know how to swim!

Hi, Dave.
I literally can´t wait for this ship. My PCs decided to head out to sea in last night´s session, so I´ll need a ship pronto. I have FDG´s cog built, but I need a different ship for them to encounter, and WWG´s Maiden is way to big. I could build another cog, of course, but I'd rather build this your new ship!!
[puppy eyes]Any chance of this model being out before next thursday?[/puppy eyes]

That foredeck is calling out for a mini-ballista on a revolve for harpooning krakens.

Tonight is my last chance to build this before our maritime encounter tomorrow. Arggh, I so want to build this!

This may be a foolish question, and a little late. Will she be compatible with Worldworks "Maiden" and Fat Dragon "Sea Dragon"? I've had those two on my to-do list for a few years.

Are you asking if they'd be the same scale? Unless otherwise explicitly noted, Dave's stuff, FDG's stuff and WWG's stuff are compatible in scale. If you mean something else by 'compatible', I'm interested in knowing what. Certainly, they appear to all go in the water and all look like they could be crushed by a kracken, so in those ways they will also be compatible.

I've been struggling to get my kids' friends together to get a 5e game going - we managed about 1/4 of a session so far. My older son wants to play a pirate, and I've promised him I'll build him a ship if we can get the group through the introductory adventure! No pressure, Dave.

I realize they are very different vessels but that's part of the charm.

This may be a foolish question, and a little late. Will she be compatible with Worldworks "Maiden" and Fat Dragon "Sea Dragon"? I've had those two on my to-do list for a few years. I have both of those ships, and have been paying close attention to what Dave's doing here as he goes, so I feel qualified to answer this question. The Maiden is something special. It's an enormous ship, and there has been a lot of careful attention to detail throughout. It's not a one-hundred percent true-to-life recreation of a ship, as it is clearly designed to be used for gaming, but it comes pretty darn close, and it is especially beautiful, though not particularly easy to build. The Sea Dragon is quite diminunative next to the Maiden. The design is optimised towards easy building and ease-of-use in gaming, and it excels in both. Far easier to build than the Maiden, and a lot less fiddly on the table, but nowhere near as realistic. All the same, I use both regularly, often at the same time. I suspect Dave's is going to be more in-line with the realism of the Maiden than with the easy game-play of the Sea Dragon, and it will likely be a tricky build, but I have no doubt that the 3 will all look good together and can't wait to add this one to my collection!

I'm looking forward to this as well, it will be nice to have another ship to tie up to the Harbor/Piers/Wharves set I'm working on!

It will have optional cannon ports and portholes (windows) on the aft section.
The design is very simple compared to the Maiden and Fat Dragon's ships.
Scale wise, it's 28mm/30mm and I do not recommend printing it any smaller than that.
I'm working in the sail textures right now, and have a few more things on the to-do list.

I'm planning on building two of these- one low riding with its sails as pictured, and one high in the water and using the patrol boat mast and sails. Can't wait :-)

The Maiden is excessively complex and too massive. I built it, but never use it. Simple is good. Do you have a new ETA?

Far easier to build than the Maiden, and a lot less fiddly on the table, but nowhere near as realistic. The Maiden is quite realistic as a 17th century Galleon. The somewhat fanciful FDG Sea Dragon is a redux of the FDG Medieval Sailing Ship, which is quite faithful to the clinker built Cog used by the Hanseatic League in the 12th and 13th centuries.

The sensible option for me is going to be Dave's ship first and the other two some time after.
