Excerpt taken from a letter by Holmes to his grand daughter Rose. "I stood and watched as my beloved London burned. Burned by a vindictive madman, a man my equal. As the houses of parliament finally shuddered and collapsed in on itself, I could not help but wonder if I was to blame. Did my pride, my stubbornness led the world to the brink of destruction in a war of steam and ash. A war of men and machine of gears hungry for blood and death. Had I but stayed and faced my nemesis, might I have saved the world from the tears and screams of war . Had I but stood up and faced him in those last hours instead of disappearing into the dark. I now see the grave error I made. an error that cost thousands their lives and engulfed a continent in war. The war is now bigger than me or "him". The war is now a beast of its own success, feeding feeding on the weak, feeding on their iron and blood. The man is now a leader, an emperor… he is now... one of the GODS of STEAM… and I must stop this madness."
Finally its up for sale... the first set in hopefully many more in my new "the GODS of STEAM" steampunk series... Now available on RPGnow and WargameVault RPGNow.com bit.ly/y8ZCVQWargame Vault bit.ly/yVqF9m

I just bought 'em, and I love 'em! I'll probably have some put together before bedtime tonight.
When I first saw them, I thought they were by Patrick Cruseau. I hope you take that as a compliment. They look VERY good!
I'm looking forward to the rest of the line!
Have fun! (I will with THESE guys!) Steve

I just printed out a sheet of Moriarity's Shock Troopers! One of the things that really impressed me about the mechanical spider was the quality of the textures. Will you be putting out sheets of bases with distinctive Gods of Steam textures on them? I'd buy 'em!
These ought to work well in cross-genre games with Dave Okum's Retro-Space line. They may be a little large straight out of the printer, but I could shrink them down a bit before printing. As it is, they could just be from a lower gravity planet, and just grow a little taller!
Have fun! Steve

OH! I'm going to have to scoop these up. I've been watching the progression of these guys. Yeah, I agree they would be a really cool bandit/stratopirate gang for RetroSpace.

;D Thanks guys for all the good comments! This is my first real figure set and I still have A LOT to learn. stevelortz thank you so much, I will definitely take that as a compliment. I'm still "finding my voice" so I should improve in time. As to the bases, yes they will probably be available within the next two days, they are mostly specific to GODS of STEAM so it will be the wooden decking, copper flooring and steel textures of the upcoming crawlers. @vermin King Once again thanks for your support and encouragement over the last few months, its greatly appreciated. Keep an eye on your email. old squirmydad ha... he's not actually the commander but a rogue like character (think steam punk han solo) that is mostly trust worthy and more often than not finds himself on the side of "the Son's of Holmes"... but mostly because he has a crush on Rose (Holmes' grand daughter) I'm still debating on how to actually release these hero class figures and what to include, they each have a very unique back story and "accessories". At the moment there is 4 hero class characters... okumarts no bigger compliment can be given than one of the greats having to "Scoop them up" ;-)

They are gorgeous. I haven't printed up yet, but on the pdf's, they show good depth, almost looking 3d.
I'm tempted to use the Olli Bizer treatment on one to add dimension. Olli laminates pieces to give depth. If you aren't familiar with his work, shoot me a PM.
Have you considered doing mini-dioramas for your sets? I really like the way Adam does his. A small backdrop and base would go well with your Hero Class characters coming out. Four figures in a small vignette, and I believe you mentioned some accessories, would be an excellent set.

Based on the quality of the set's cover art, I have to agree with Vermin King about a diorama! I'd build one just for its value as a static model! Have fun! Steve

@vermin King no im not familiar with his work, drop me a link so I can have a look? hmm.. Ive not really considered diorama's but it might actually make sense... the diorama's could potentially slot into each other creating a board game... almost like a final boss battle room... stevelortz thank you so much :-) BTW the cover art is the miniatures just not scaled down to 30mm, with just a bit of shadow added... nikloveland ;D Im going to do my best to keep adding... i have a number of models and figures in various states of completeness.. bookman60 Brilliant thanks for you custom ;D bowler hats? hmmm have you been looking over my shoulders? but you havent seen the conceptual steam punk ninja's.. ah oops.. should not have said that Can I ask a huge favor? would you guys mind giving them a brief review on either RPGnow or Wargamevault? it would mean a lot and ill pull the feed into my website. oh an by the way i have added some bases as well bit.ly/yuR8I1

SO ive been working on some concepts for a new set to boost the Shock troopers. I loved the movie “the rocketeer” and though what we really need is some flying shock troopers.. Ive started making some rough sketches and thought I’d show you the first concept.

Thanks it helps to show a work in progress as there tends to be some good advice and requests at the development stage This is where im at, at the moment... Unlike the Shock troopers the rocket troopers have lightweight leather armor, easy to kill but hard to hit. They can carry pistols, bombs, chemicals or flame throwers. They can be rather devastating on the battle field. Each time the flight ability is used there is a 5% chance of their rocket packs exploding (the percentage will be adjusted after test plays)

You might want to look up Isambard Kingdom Brunel, if you haven't already done so. He was a real-life GOD of STEAM!
Have fun! Steve

Parduz thats a brilliant! and it fits in perfectly with the modding options I have planned. 3 types of steam rockets, varying heights of steam smoke and various weapons...
So far the plan is to have: 1 x Pistol (scout for longer range missions) 1 x Grenade (longer range smaller explosive) 1 x Big Bomb (short range big explosive) 1 x Sling (short range single troop carrier) 1 x Blacked out night 'stealth' (long range night missions) 1 x Machine gun (mid range missions)
but by adding the bigger or the smaller rockets you can change the range and height.
The figures will come with a have a base card and the stats will change based on the configuration (so each rocket and weapon will have a configuration card)

You will need to keep Balance in mind. On your sample, you have it mounted on foamcore instead of a flat base. The figure's center of gravity is at the edge of the base, if not beyond it. They may require their own bases.
