Battle Station paper terrain. I guess they have been around a while, but this is the first time I have heard of them. Just bought the stuff last night and it looks great. www.battlesystems.co.uk/gallery.html

Beautiful stuff, slick as I've seen. The 3D detailing kills me.

... I have never seen anything like this quality - not in paper or any other material. Those are durable and sturdy wall sections, hell! And the console and control units, oh my god! I have the impression, that this stuff raises the paper terrain thing to a whole new level in quality. I cannot grasp the details. Man, I cannot believe this. Photo glossy paper printing. The glueing is somewhat tricky, but the tutorial vids are very informative. Could it be, that the designer is a woman and it's a solo venture of a highly skilled long-time SciFi wargamer? Yes, (Mega-)Traveller would be awesome with this stuff. Tech level 14+/-2, I would say. EDIT: I have read the name 'Colin' on the 'About'-page, so I guess, it's a team of designers, the tutorial speaker seems to be a woman. Not, that I am a gender politician, but I miss women in our hobby . I read some female names on CBW, but the accounts are pretty inactive. That's sad. EDIT 2: reading dragnoz comment, I am not quite sure, if the tutorial video speaker is still a woman to me. The voice sounds quite bright. One finger nail set is really short, the other one longer. Explanation: could be a (good) guitar player.

This is equal to anything from Ainsty Castings, and I've admired their work for years.

Just watched the "Essential 'How To' Guide" movie.... that things are complicated to build. Is that white thick thing cardboard or plasticard? Anyway, while having no tabs helps precision (the paper width don't affect the build), having to cut all that tiny pieces 'cause you need some glue surface is an hassle (IMHO and talking for myself only, obviously). The added folds, while beautiful and useful (they add rigidity to the wall) are "hassle multipliers". No, i like it a lot, but i'll not buy it unless the "deco" parts (consolles and furniture) are made with tabs and "plain" paper. his finger nails is totally creeping me out... Definitely HE is an acoustic guitar player. An old friend of mine was studying classic guitar and we were together on vacation for a pair of week. He took at least half an hour each morning to fine shape his nails. Then he begun "warming" the hands by playing some Cuban classic composition.... it was like heaven

... I have never seen anything like this quality - not in paper... Yes. Indeed I saw this product some days ago on TGN but I do not understand that it is in cardboard. glennwilliams: why Ainsty Castings? I love Ainsty Castings' products from their first INAPs.

It looks super fiddly, but I'm going to try it anyway. I may use foam core instead of the matte/mounting board that he suggests, but we'll see. I have lots of both. I think the foam core would be faster. I may also try a few work arounds to speed up production. Could be a nice project to try out. Also, it's a guy and I thought Classical Guitar player too when I saw the fingernails.

Can it all be printed on cardstock and built from there just fine? Edit: It still definitly looks worth the extra effort to me!

... glennwilliams: why Ainsty Castings? I love Ainsty Castings' products from their first INAPs. Because I've loved their stuff for years and never been in a position to buy them (because I'd want to buy a LOT!). They set the standard (in my mind) for quality and intricate design--so it was meant as a huge compliment on my part.

Glad you came by.
And regarding the fingernails, do you play classic guitar?
On a more serious note. These packages look very well thought out and have a tremendous amount of detail. Which graphics program and unfolding program do you use?

Hi, is it Colin? I also posted your terrain over at the Infinity forums. Sometimes manufacturers stop by and ask what the players want or think of their products. Infinity needs a lot of cover terrain and "street furniture" and your style would be great for the game. You should try and post something asking what players want. They do have a commercial area for companies to post things in and you can always PM the mods. www.infinitythegame.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9514&pid=175625#pid175625

Hi both, I play electric guitar and mostly blues. I used to teach, but have three kids and Battle Systems to run. I use photoshop and no folding programs. I just draw it all strait on. pixel by pixel sometimes. We are a new business, just launched this week. Been working on this for 2 years solid. I'm very interested in getting feedback from gamers and I see that some of you guys have bought too. So thanks for your support. I saw your post on Infinity first actually and then here. Been working like a slave to speed the word and i have so much further to go to get the message out there. You guys are amount the first to pick it up and post, so super thanks. Oh and I'm male (sorry) just have a high voice (and the ginger claw) and it's just me that runs the business as the creator. However I do have a guy that helped me out by designing the website from scratch. a good friend indeed. Any questions just ask, I the guys thats spent two years with this and there is more to come. Just need to tell the world )

Also your sets comming out sound perfect too, makes me wish May could come sooner, Lol. I was curious about a couple things, Do the sets come with instructions or are the videos the instructions, cause I must say the videos are very nicely done. Also this may be a dumb question, but what exactly is mountboard? I looked around at our local Walmart Super Center but I couldn't find anything that was labeled that, Lol. Is it basically cardstock?

;D Hi Colin! I am the one, who has mistaken you for a woman! Sorry for that! I had to convince myself by listening twice to your vids ... nevermind. So, picking the steel strings, he? Without plek. Me too! On my old Japanese Martin-D38-clone (or Japanese Fender License Strat) . Mostly Blues improv and Jazzy chords. That's, what I like. Welcome to the Club! You can move and write here whereever and whenever and whatever you like. Cardboard Warriors is a real factor in the Paper Modeling Scene, I guess. But beware, could be a time-eater! ;D ... Let me say, that your efforts of the last two years are a great achievement in the Paper Terrain World and that every pixel you draw is worth the effort. The results are extremely superb. I guess, you are playing the Blues on an equally superb level - perfectionistic.

Hi again, Thanks for the positive comments. The sets come with instructions, but just what materials you needs, printer setting etc. These are available free before you buy at the bottom of the FAQ's page. The real instructions are the tutorial videos. Boy was it hard doing them and editing etc. Most of the videos are shot in the middle of the night, so I'm really tired, but try to hind it. I thought the videos would be best as no matter how good the instructions problems still arise. I could have made the system easier, but then the finished system would not be as good. Ok, mountboard... not sure what you would call it. It's used by artists and picture framers. It's available in nearly every art shop here in the UK. Its quite tough. Picture framers use it to put a boarder round a photo/picture before they put it in a frame. I think I'm gong to have to find some suppliers from a few different companies and add these to the links on the website. Don't worry about the whole 'thought you were a woman thing' I have a high voice and with the fingernails I'm just asking for it. lol I love to play guitar, but just don't have the time anymore. 3 kids, battles Systems, life etc. My kids are all under 5 years to so it's lots of work.. and money. But I'm an improv blues too. Am i good, well at what i play yes, but I get stuck in the same old scales and ask me to try something new and I feel like a beginner ( I've actually been working on this for 5 years almost on and off, but only the last two did i decide that i was going to go for it and make it a business. I really need to work hard to get the message out now and this is time consuming, especially when I'm also working on the new room packs, Bunker set. I ask have concepts for other systems like vehicles, horror, fantasy, and so on. A question for you guys. I've got some ideas about doing small space vessels. Picture a small shuttle (Star Trek small shuttle size) fully complete with a removable top and gridded out (like the floor tiles on our current battle system) and a fully details interior, computer, seats, moving loading ramp etc etc. Would this be something you guys would like? Sorry if i've written too much, i'm new to this blog stuff.

Ciao Colin, I'm sorry for my bad english. ;D Welcome. Mainly I'm a paper figures' collector, but I don't dismiss other good paper and cardboard products when I see them ( and I like them ). So yesterday I took your first bundle. From what I saw from the files it is really a great product. Congratulations. Now I hope, sooner or later, to find/have free time to build it. I read that you planned next science and medical labs. Do you Think that you place on these sets any cylinder bio-chambers with possibility to print it on acetate? Ciao

I thought the videos would be best as no matter how good the instructions problems still arise. I could have made the system easier, but then the finished system would not be as good. Awesome! Still for being tired and taking the videos at night, they came out really well! I Googled Mountboard and got a ton of results for Foamcore Board. Is Foamcore basically the same thing as Mountboard, just different name? I've actually been working on this for 5 years almost on and off, but only the last two did i decide that i was going to go for it and make it a business. I really need to work hard to get the message out now and this is time consuming, especially when I'm also working on the new room packs, Bunker set. That's definitely impressive, 5 years on and off! I know I'm looking forward to the new room packs, they will compliment the base set very nicely and most who buy the base set I think will also get most of (if not all) the room packs to go with it, so more business for Battle Systems in the long run, which is always good, Lol. ;D A question for you guys. That definitely sounds neat! I know I'd be interested in seeing something like that after your room packs for May, Lol. ;D I also saw the Star Wars set up in your gallery with the ships (which looked awesome by the way), so something like that size or so would be really neat for a model too. (Maybe even some land vehicles also, Lol.) Sorry if i've written too much, i'm new to this blog stuff. No, not at all. The more info the better, I personally like reading longer post!
