I've started this thread to post some buildings from different studios that I have been making in 15mm scale. The flickr photostream with a few more pictures can be found at: flic.kr/s/aHsjzgcRTK

Dave Graffam's bunker, longhouse and crosspiece ruins. These were actually printed with the "multiple pages" mode from Adobe Reader, so they are slightly smaller than 50% size. The minis placed for scale are Sanity Studios militia (15mm tall) and One Monk's urban ops veterans and Slick's Minis NCC ODAT (both 20mm tall.)

WWG Swift Scenics abandoned building and FDG Capital City restaurant. This time I actually resized the images in Gimp so they are exactly 50% scale. I had a little trouble glueing the internal structure of the WWG building, although at this reduced size it might not even be necessary. I should have noticed from the pictures (even before building) but the FDG buildings and tiles are 7x7 inches, whereas the WWG ones are 6x6. Now I'm wondering which one to use for a small urban environment board.

Lastly, a "group shot" of all the buildings. As I build more models in this scale I intend to keep posting in this thread.

I love to read the Fantalonia blog! Didnt' you think of wrinting in portuguese too? Paper minis are perfect for the Braziliam player, he normally has a internet connection but can't pay the outrageous price for importing plastic miniatures (with taxes and transport above the expensive prices of them). I write in the Rpgista blog, teaching to make paper miniatures, I'm inviting you to write there too. rpgista.com.br/tag/miniaturas-de-papel/

They make good cover and obstacles.

Thanks for inviting me, I'd really like to collaborate. Regarding the smaller buildings: for some reason I had this obsession with tile size = building size but having smaller buildings makes for nice alleys through a block, too.

dragnoz, very nice building, great textures. Here's some tiles I'm making with the Capital City street tiles printed at 50% and glued to foamcore.

I love 15mm, it's easier to build stuff and the edges stay straighter Helps to have a robo cutter for the fiddly stuff though

Here's the initial plan for a board using half the Rake's Corner map. The red buildings are from the Rake's Corner set, the white ones for now are the two low street buildings (large one is the curiosity shop, the other is the tenement.) I was thinking of having shops at the nortwest corner, houses at the northeast, warehouses and small cottages below the canal, and the asylum at the south. But then I got stuck not knowing what to place at the southwest and that dead end seems inviting for either a bunch of residences or shops. So I might still move things around. Suggestions are welcome.

The village chapel is a bit large but if I move some things around I might be able to fit it in this board... and it should look great.

Here's a small post-apocalyptic outpost I've built using Glenn's Slagtown Eden set. Since I open the pages in Gimp to resize them, I take the time to cut and paste only the stuff I'll need to build the piece. It takes some planning ahead but it's fun. I also intend to make some other pieces mixing components of Slagtown Salvage and Sci-Blocks.

Glenn needs some images like that on the sales site..... I'm going to go buy that now, but it never grabbed me with the CGI images. Great stuff

Here's Dave Graffam's Rake's Corner map... actually, about half of it in 50% scale, as planned. It's a 21"x20" rectangle, and now I can actually visualize how awesome would it be to have the whole map in its full scale... In terms of preparation, I opened the needed tiles in Gimp, reduced and arranged them in six pages. Printed each page, sprayed some "waterproof spray" to protect them and cut the sheets. As it was evening already, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to glue them to a large cardstock board with spray glue.

I've started building lots of slagtown stuff......... but what's up with the doors? They are absolutely tiny. The doorways are only as high as the 'ramparts' so if the doors are tall enough for a figure, then they can't see over the tops. If the ramparts are at the correct scale, then the doors only come up to models shoulder.

Just had another look..... are some of the doors lockers or something? Needs more labels

I had a quick look at Slagtown Eden and Salvage (I don't have the Junkyard) and the doors seem to be between 1.5" and 2" tall. The ramparts when folded in half would be about 1" tall, which I agree could be shorter. As the soldiers on my photos are about 30mm from eyes to feet, it still feels ok (actually, all measurements are halved on my build but the conclusion is the same.)

Here's an update of the Rake's Corner map, assembled and with three of the Rake's Corner buildings (and a longhouse.) I have to say that putting these buildings together was a joy: no need for resizing tabs, and everything goes together really well.

I cut everything with the silhouette and the spare 'cut and paste' doors I had were tiny, turns out they were a shrunken version of the actual doors, I assume to be used as locker doors or electrical access, I was confused as they are the same artwork as the proper doors, just made smaller I've cut out the proper 'cut and paste' doors and they are identical , but in the correct scale. Mine is 15mm too I'm using all of the slagtown stuff now, I didn't realise how good this stuff was until I saw your build, the finger and toe website doesn't do it justice.

Here's a landing pad built with Dave Graffam's Spaceport Tiles, featuring TopoSolitario's chicharra, Tommygun's air cargo container (I'm building a few more) and Slick's Minis' soldiers. There's a few more pictures in my blog.

Those are N.C.C. O.D.A.T. (orbital drop troopers) in the camo uniform (although at this size it's mostly green) -- and probably lighter as I change brightness before printing.
This forum is very inspiring. I had mostly used the same few terrain pieces for a while but after seeing lots of cool pictures -- for instance, Sirrob's forest scenes, Oldschooldm's griffon master and Kiladecus' steampunk scenes -- I got back to building. Which is good as I have some stuff that I never tried to build yet.
