ok this is where i need some help and advice... I dont really know much about starships and weapons. So a list of suggested weapons and arrays will be most welcome! even some stats with the weapons could be usefull... Ok, I emailed you some basic info, Lol. ;D |

Yea had a great break... however had some severe sunstroke with a touch to much beer and cocktails... gotta love the Turkey sun and all inclusives...

"Black Sun Starships concepts" and i thought this was a star wars thing... (black sun being the criminal under world in Star War ) love the ships, be great in any space games and maybe even a future battle ships game  |

Well it will probably be layers. i kinna like the tinkerability that layers provide. my initial estimation of doing 3 textures is not going to happen. Ill do two textures and maybe a colour variation or two. here is some of the textures so far.  AARGH... ok.. lol yes no that was never the intention... Its actually based on Alchemy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sun_(alchemy) and story i have percolating in the back of my mind... its a war between space faring tech alchemists and various other human and non human species. The default ship names and captains will be linked to this... Central Fire, Philolaus, Empedocles and it will be the - Magnum opus wars - hmm we will see... I would love to however I have limited amount of time but might do one of these crowdsourcing jobbies once the first set is done to to judge interest. |

I don't play any games that can use these, but they definitely make me want to build a few anyway. Some of these guys and some of momir farooq's SW models displayed against a blown-up space pic would look really nice.
A wall in my office seems to scream out that I need to do this project.

HAHA... I know what you mean, i actually bought a poster to stick on teh back of my photography booth and actually considering making a diorama for my kid's room when the set is done... my kid has been sneaking them to school behind my back...

Mostly out of curiosity, what is the part on the frigates that looks like four spots, it looks like a new part from the look of the white builds, it looks neat, lol? |

ah that... its the missile silo thingy... you're right it was not part of the test build, well spotted... its in the weapons pack that can be used with any of the ships.

Sounds like an awesome idea, definitely getting it when it's released. Another good thing too is that also gives u a period where you can relax and work on your other projects too while u evaluate how much interest there is in this line. On a side note I think the cruiser model that won't be in this set will make a good fighter for 30mm minis lol. I think someone mentioned it too in another thread, lol. Again nice work on this set so far it looks really awesome and I can't wait to build them! ;D |

ok.. texture done, test build done... now the instructions start :S This will be the initial starter set. As mentioned before there is a few more that will be released over time. The set contains: 1x Battleship 2x Frigates 1x Freighter 1 x set of fighters. This is a modular system and it will be difficult to tell how many variations or different ships can be built by combining all the various ships pieces. Modding and kit bashing will be encouraged.     |
