Actually, I think there are 11... I have to re-count. Recount: Bio Aero Litho Hydro Necro Pyro Shadow Techno Electro and the ----mancer. (I am keeping this one under wraps) Most sets have 10-12... then you get into the Mesper sets that have 84! This set will most-likely be two pages of figures, because of the sheer SIZE of the last figure. Then we will have four textures of bases... instructions... text... cover page... YIKES! This may be a hefty set after all!

I said I wasn't going to post any more figures until the set is complete, but this one is WAY TOO good to not share! You have seen 3 finished figures already, but this one almost brought a tear to my eye when I saw it finished. Let me hear a "Whoop-Whoop" for Uptrainfan89!! Attachments:

Ouh! Dave! ;D It was a joke. One your old question to another guy about an average set composition. But clarified this ... figures are very good, and the set's originality is very great. So ... when?

I really like how the Electromancer turned out. He has a look of sheer power. I can just picture a huge thunderstorm over him as he enters into battle. I had a ton of fun with the lightening effect on the cape, just ask kiladecus, Lol. ;D

I actually figured out how two figures would fight in battle.... by acting it out. I drew the Electro to be part Thor, part Iron Man (well, for lack of a better description). When I saw him colored, I could see him spinning his quarterstaff around like Ray Park (Darth Maul, in case there was a doubt) does! He can get TWO close combat attacks, then bring the hammer down, so to speak, by bringing a tower of lightning down on himself, striking all adjacent foes! The other one I acted out was basically the Pyro doing Akido, then throwing a couple fireballs like baseballs. Then turning, placing his wrists together creating a flame-thrower effect! Gosh I wish I could create a video game...

I know Rhannon... it was in reference to a comment I made about RevGunn's gunslingers. I keep track of ALL of the comments I make that will come back to haunt me... There is a whole FILE in my head. As far as a "time" I am surprized we have not only gotten this far, but so quickly. He have 6 fronts (thanks to Mesper and UTF89) done in 5 days, and six more fronts uncolored. If I can stay focused, at this rate, JUNE 1st may not be too optimistic. I have also come up with a unique set of bases, and I am just waiting to see what all I need to do for the layout od the bases. I am thinking I will need 9 - 25mm, 1 - 25x50mm and 1 - 50mm base. That sounds about right. I should also be able to get two textures per page. That will leave the set at 4 pages plus whatever text. We are getting close! Since Paper Make iT! is part of the team now, I *may* be adding a few other tidbits... We shall see!

I have to be at work at 4:30 in the morning (6 and a 1/2 hours from now), so I am going to bed. I just finished coloring the front of the pyromancer. I can't let UTF89 and Mesper have ALL the fun.

OK! The final wizard has been drawn (at least the front). There will be 11 wizards in the set, and a few "extras." I will be starting the backs this week, and will be sending them around the globe to get everything wrapped up. I would like to thank the following people (in no particular order): Paper Make iT! (for putting up with my crazy ideas for 2 years) Uptrainfan89 (for your friendship for over 2+ years, and the belief that we can actually pull this off). MESPER (for stepping in and volunteering to help out). BilliamBabble (eventhough you weren't on the team for this set, you were the first person to have faith in me, and give me a chance. For that I will eternally be grateful). Guvendin (I couldn't have asked for a better, more supportive wife). Finally... Big Jim, Nik and the crew for making this become a reality to me. Also, the gang here at the forum (if you are reading this, then YOU... thank YOU). I have been encouraged and inspired by EVERYONE here in some way, even if I haven't mentioned it! Thanks again.

Man, I am beat! I drew two backs sent them to Poland this morning, and 5 more this afternoon to Iowa! I have 4 more backs to draw, but I need a break. I can't wait to see the finished figures... it shouldn't be that long now. Still planning on a June 1st release. In one week, we have 11 figure fronts drawn and colored. We have 7 figure backs drawn, and a good start on the "bonus" features... PLUS Mesper has a few additions he is considering. To quote the LITHOMANCER, this is going to "rock."

Well, UTF89 is starting to get bombarded with files as the fronts and backs are starting to pour in. There are AT LEAST two figures completed, and the rest are on the horizon.

That Necromancers rocks! I am getting a serious old school vibe to these which I like VERY much. I really like the variety and specific schools/styles. You should have a wizard duel game to go with this... no... not yet.. minis first, game can wait.

Well, I AM developing a DUNGEON game. I have some ideas about what I would like to see happen here. Time will tell. I think it isn't fair to Mesper. He colored the WORST figure in the set, and he did an AWESOME job with it. He ALSO colored the BEST figure in the set, and I am saving it as a surprize. So, you see his brilliant work on a figure that isn't worth his talent. BUT WAIT! When you see the ..., you'll be like, "Wow! That's SO cool. No wonder he left it as a surprize." As far as the "old school" vibe, I am old... school. Mesper and UTF89 have glorious Photoshop skills. I have pretty good "Sharpie" skills. Yes, I have a set of 24 Sharpies that I use to color my figures. LOL! Keep your eyes peeled. I may post morr figures as they are completed.

Just to throw mine 2 cents on the pile... Actually I understood and agree with Okumarts - even if your figures are "hand made" (which is btw a real advantage!) they have something which is quite rare and -- in my opinion -- most valuable - unique, specific personal art-style and are full of character. There is your passion and love for the hobby visible in each figure! You simply can't "emulate" this with standard CG techniques and there is sooo many Photoshop colored sets already - many of them looks way too similar, with obviously the same software tools and standard functions used (including mine's! . Try to look at this this way: there are tons of CG artists and just a few who stick with traditional-techniques (and in case of Sharpies you are probably THE only one! . Plus with every figure your skills and techniques are better and better so after some time you can achieve most welcomed goal -- fully coherent, distinguish and recognizable at first glance art-style. So if some unique / original project like yours spring-up from the "crowd" it should be appreciated! As I already wrote in some other thread, I like yours "retro" style very much -- and you are underestimating your talent and skills. So, frankly speaking, being in your shoes, I'd take time and color ALL the figures with Sharpies - even if it would mean that you rid off mine (ie colored by me) figures - really, I do mean it! I'd value much higher this kind of originally realized, coherent set -- and if you regret these few colored by me you can put them later to the Hoard for example or whatever. Regarding time, deadlines etc... don't push too much yourself -- not on this project stage -- we are not on races here and there is no sense neither need to rush, one or two weeks or even month more wouldn't hurt the project -- although I can't speak for others, I'm pretty sure that it's worth waiting! As we are dealing here with digital products -- at the end of each project there is one "field" / group of tasks where some computer skills / techniques are really needed - assembling figurines with tabs, preparing sheet's layout, generating final PDF file etc.. -- and to make it clear if you would decide to go for fully "hand-made" set -- I could help you with this. Once again -- this IS already COOL set -- but it might be even better if you stop underestimating yourself and would fully add that personal "retro / hand-made" extra flavor to it! /Mesper

WOW! I can't think of anything to say... (That may be a first). Of course I wouldn't take your figures away. I love what you have done so far, and I LOVE having you on the team for this set. I like to draw. I can sketch figures, and do okay at coloring them. I guess I compare my work to others in the field and feel I fall flat. I do enjoy this, and to quote Steve Lorz, I try to "Have Fun." I know I push myself, and that is probably why I am sick at the moment. I am happy to know that I have completed all of the fronts and backs, and we just have the Aero and Dragonmancers to color. I am VERY happy with the set, and I couldn't have done it without the help of You, Mesper, Uptrainfan89 and theose listed a few blocks above. I was about to abandon the Hydromancer, and after seeing what you did with her, she looks fantastic. The original drawing was pretty bad, and you made it look great. ;D Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to grab some chicken noodle soup, watch some more G.I.JOE cartoons from 1983, and get some rest. (I still would love to do a set of JOE's for fun. As I am watching the cartoons, I keep thinking to myself, "Yeah. I could draw that." I also want to make figures out of "HE-MAN and the Masters of the Universe." So much fun to be had with those. If I could do my own layouts with figures, who knows what I could accomplish).

Well, it was bound to happen. I generally only get sick twice a year: Once in the Spring and once in the Fall... when the seasons change. Well, I have been sick for about a week now, and thank Heaven that on the days I felt "better" were the days I had to work, and even better, I had arranged a month ago to have a super-light schedule this week (so my days at work were very short)! As I was waiting to get into the doctor's office yesterday, I was able to color the front and back of number 10 in the set... The DRAGONMANCER. We are just waiting on once last figure to be colored, and then the figures themselves will be complete.

I am proud to say that ALL of the figures are COMPLETED!! We just need for the layout (the ONE thing I can NOT do) to get completed. Here is the last figure in the set... the Aeromancer. I just finished her a little while ago. The set should be out the first week in June! ENJOY!! Attachments:
