The theme for this months HOARD is Forest Creatures and AnimalsThis can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category.

Sasquatch.
And maybe a local legend: the green lady of Hay Swamp.

LOL! I am laughing my butt off here! Nice one. Yep, I think you had better finish that. I can't even compete with the awesomeness of that drawing. We need a new skull emoticon that portrays histerical laughter. Make it about 45 mm tall.

I abseiled 200ft down the side of a building yesterday, doodled the grizzly slug while I was waiting. So he's pretty much a stress induced hallucination transferred to paper I'll see if I can turn him into an actual figure then! IN progress

Excellent grizzly slug! When I look at those eye stalks, I keep thinking of something that mutated and took over the grizzly bear from inside By the way, here's my first version of the curupira. I'm not very satisfied with the legs and the face (actually, I might end up drawing another version) but we have a whole month ahead and input is always welcome.

I was gonna say "aren't his legs backwards...?"
Then I googled curupira....
Looks good.

I don't see anything wrong with the face. It is supposed to be boyish. But with his mouth closed, you don't see the green teeth
BTW ... forest creatures I would like to see:
1. Moose 2. Stag 3. Wild Boar 4. Can always use more wolves and bears

A recolor from a Jim mini: Frost Nightmare For freezing winter nights, when you shouldn't leave home after dark.

The curupira design is good, very clean lines, it only needs to be a little less static.
Try flexing his knees a little and put the right hand a little more forward, to inject a little action in the pose. Maybe try a more mischievous expression.

Here's the updated Curupira. After I had exported the front and back, I noticed I didn't change the axe on the back view...

I needed a pair of Cyclops for this weekend's game and I thoght they might fit in with the Forest Theme of this month's Horde. Download Link: www.4shared.com/document/Z3Z6erOi/Imperfect_Cyclops.html(Note, the Elf in the picture is not included in this set, she is simply there for scale) As always, use Imperfect Cyclops responsibly... beware, Imperfect Sheepherders. Nice Cyclops. Cyclopses...? Cyclopsi...?
I'm still thinking about a Sasquatch, but in the meantime I've got a birch-bark canoe that's just about ready to put up. Not exactly a forest creature...but a few forest creatures could go for a ride in it...
Shawn.

Should be cyclopes, there's a copepod (shrimpy sort of thing) called a cyclops and it's named from the Greek, its plural is cyclopes, so the giant is probably the same Then again, I've seen cyclops used as the plural in a fair few D&D adventures over the years too.

Here's the birch bark canoe. [Removing broken link; canoe is available in Hoard #93] It's a bit of a funny shape, but it will fit at least 2-3 figures with round or hex bases (25mm). I know it's not a forest creature...but it was made by a forest denizen, and it was once a forest plant... Hope you like, Shawn (I'll put up some build pics when I get a chance to take some)

As I was working on the Maiden of the High Seas, my daugther (4) came, looked at the ship, looked at her playmobils, and asked: - Is this the boat of the Indian? - No, this is the boat of the Pirate. - Where is the boat of the Indian? ...
Now I now...

Great mini with excellent comicesque shading, gilius, very pixie-like, this critter ! So we have some nice material for this month, a wild kitty, a happy Grizzly-Slug, a frosty horse, stoic Cyclops and a lonely canoe. That's a gang.
I always start scratching my head, when the month is over. I have some urge to try a SPIDER, one of the Mirkwood kind.
