Ok, Phantombaz suggested that we have a way to keep track of Hoard figures. CowboyLeland suggested EXCEL (my only skill I possess)! So here is the FIRST Hoard documented. Please feel free to offer suggestions, and give me your imput. I don't want to get all 94 Hoards documented only to have someone say, "Too bad it doesn't have..." Here are a couple notes by ME: 1) I will list the primary artist and the recolor (if a figure is modified from the original artwork, this will fall into the category "Recolor") artist by HANDLE only! I will not type in "Jim 'BIG JIM' Hartman." It will simply say "Big Jim." I think I know quite a few people here by their "real" names, so I should be able to figure out who is who. HOWEVER: I am only human. I have been known to make a mistake here or there. If you notice something wrong, PLEASE send me a PM only, and don't post it on the thread. If YOU made a mistake, you would rather I spoke to you privately, correct? 2) I "calls 'em as I sees 'em." If the figure is carrying a GAUSS rifle, because of copyrights and so forth, I don't want to get anyone in trouble, and least of all ME! I will simply put "Rifle - Laser." It is up to the enduser to determine what kind of laser rifle it is. 3) I am NOT going to put "30mm," "50mm" and so forth. The Hoards center around 30mm figures. If you have Jabbro's dragon, it is on an 80mm base. It is scaled for 30mm figures. I will, in the case of people like Ken or Jose' that use 15mm figures, IF there are any, make a notation on the figure themselves (i.e. Dwarf - 15mm). This will let you know that they are intended for 15mm scale. 4) What am I getting for doing all of this work? Nik told me that I can download ANY and ALL of the Hoard files I want for FREE!! Ok. I hope this all makes sense. I look forward to hearing all of your ideas and positive input (which CAN be posted here). Thanks for your attention, David Attachments:

Once this is done, you can filter the categories by ANY of the sections. What would be even BETTER than this would be if someone could make an ACCESS database version of this. You could actually type in a keyword, and the list would generate based on that. But that is a project for someone else. Attachments:

ok good start, i under stand this is not going to be an easy job, for you have a thanks.
firstly, good idea with naming the makers of the flats, i don't think the colours are needed as the flats are not just all one colour.
Could you have set Genders, for example (Gender) (Race) (Troop Type) (By) Fantasy (opens to)---->Elfs (opens to) ----> Evelen rider Big Jim Si-fi Elf bow man. ----->Dwarfs (Opens to)----> Worries so on, so on...

Ok. Instead of adding a separate category (since MOST of the figures are considered to be male, or are skeletons, etc., I will add the name "Female" to female figures (i.e. Elf - Female).
I am up to Hoard 8, and there are MANY cool figures here that I have over-looked. There is a figure called "Knight" in Hoard 7... by "P.C." Anyone know more about this artist? This figure is actually quite good! I was just curious...

Is it too late to change the column order to make it a little more intuitive? I'm thinking of someone realising they need a fig for a new game or to replace a fig and they can't remember where they got it.
They go to the computer and open up the Kilexiconecus ;D
The genre of the game is probably the biggest filter so it should be on the left. They scan down until they see "fantasy" then the look to the right to see race "human/orc/elf" and then they look in the next column for maybe "warrior/wizard" and then "sword/bow". Then maybe colour, title and artist.
Does any else see this tool being used differently? Is there an easier format to read?
Really just nitpicking, Kil. Great work so far!

Well, that's what filters are for (Makes me want to sing a song by Dionne Worwick, Stevie Wonder and so forth...). (I may be the only one that gets that joke... as usual). Ok, in the working document, you can highlight a column, and sort it. You can also use filters to set the doc up in any way you choose. You can sort the genre column by, well, genres! Then you can also sort it alphabetically, create graphs, perform vertical look-ups... Oh, sorry. I am sure no one wants a pie chart of what percentage are Orcs! DID SOMEONE SAY PIE? Ok, I am not sure if this will be able to be posted in it's "pure" (working) form, it might just be a static document. IF that is the case, then I can move things around. (Keep in mind, with all of the things I fail miserably at, it is good to have SOMETHING I can do pretty well). I can put Genre first... if that is the consensus. I realized today that as I was entering everything, I knew the order wasn't the most logical. I am just trying to work though this. It is actually quite fun, and I am picking up a LOT of figures I have over-looked or forgot about. At one time my hard-drive actually cried out in pain today. I may have to finish this on my laptop! LOL! Ok, I can fix that. Any other thoughts?

Also, Phantombaz asked why I included color. There are some figures (like Dark Knight 02) which has multiple colored versions of it. This way you can track the EXACT version you want.
Sure, the "Wizard" that Floydski recolored is in Purple and in Blue, and they are on the same Hoard. But some aren't.
I think I am going to get back to this, but I need a bit of a break for the moment.

Ok,time for an intervention:
You are good at (at least) three things:
1. excel (which you admit to)
2. making paper figs with a sharpie (which you almost admit to)
3. making puns on this forum (which you should not admit to)
There you go, daily affirmation from a cowboy ;D

Thanks, Cowboy! But as I look over that list, I think that I admit to Excel, and that is about the only thing worth mentioning at this point. I will admit I have some good ideas (periodically). I enjoy making suggestions to "real" artists and seeing them use my ideas. That is my real affirmation!

its looking good... I think Genres should first as it will be easier to spot what your looking for i.e. Si-fi, fantasy, etc. Followed by race...then anything else is pretty much open.. maybe weapons should go a little like this " ok we need a gang of Orc" so they scroll down to fantasy open fantasy and look for the Orc section and Ta daaarr... lots of Orc.
OK I understand about the colouring coming in two set, so I'll leave it in your hands
Glad your having fun and finding new stuff, this was one of the reasons of doing this. Nice easy way to find what is need for your game. They are so many figure and so much nice work.

Well, I am about 1/4th of the way done. There are OVER 125 figures and we haven't even gotten to the BIG sets yet! Just to clarify, some people may ask, "What is the difference between a "WARRIOR" and a "SOLDIER?" A Warrior means that they are going to be primarily hand-to-hand fighting. A Soldier is a more modern figure carrying a gun. Also, there is the "ANY" category. Some figures aren't just "Fantay," "Modern," and so forth... some can be used in ANY (or at least, multiple) genres. Also, in case Darkmook checks this out, I didn't have a "HORROR" category. I throw this into "Zombie - Modern." Do you really think I need to make a "Horror" category? If so, this could be confusing... where do you draw the line between "Fantasy" (Otyough) and "Horror" (Hodder)? Ok, I will keep plugging away at this, and am waiting more feedback. So far, this is working out very well, and since you are the ones that are asking for this, then you have a better idea of what you are asking for than I do. I was thinking this morning while I was washing the dishes... this community is truly the best one I have ever seen. Look at the variety of gifts/talents that each person prings! Pretty darn cool, if you ask me. Attachments:

talking a good net communities I am part of Xbox gang/clan called TGSN, for the Xbox, they have meet ever year for a BBQ for two/three days we play to play, not only about the winning. It was set up for the reason that playing xbox live was overly competitive, and they needed a place to play chilled games. all are welcome, both young and old... but note it is UK clan. s2.excoboard.com/TGSN/162475

Ok... I have to stop on this for today. I have made it up to Hoard #80, and I did #98, since I wanted to see if I could download it today. I have to do #81-96 tomorrow, but it SHOULD be done then. I will sent it to the Powers-That-Be, and it will be out of my hands after that! The good news is, every time a new Hoard is updated, all someone has to do is enter the data, and do a filtered sort! It is broken down by Genre (alphabetically) first, and then each character/figure is listed alphabetically. If you want "Zombie - Modern," go to the bottom of the page. "Fantasy" is about mid-way through. There are 485 figures listed. That is part of why I had to quit for today. I am seeing everything blurry... Some of the information on these is incomplete. There are the Goblin Huts, but there was NO information whatsoever for who designed them. Also, there are a few figures with little or no artist information on them, and there is a Donkey/Pack Mule that says it was "modified" but it doesn't say who did the original artwork (I am assuming it's Jim's) and it doesn't say who modified it. These are all things that can be corrected once it's out there for evaluation. I am sure that there may be other issues wit this, but it is something, at least. Hope this helps! David Attachments:

I know what you mean, i have so many things i have started but never gotten it gone... like getting my black belt in Shotokan ... always as irritated me, I put so much time into it but never reach black.. but in the words Mr Lee, a belt is used to hold up your trousers.

[glow=red,2,300]THIS IS DONE!![/glow] I didn't include the listing for Hoard 96, because it has a very nice Table of Contents with it already. There are over 740 figures to choose from! To quote Steve Lortz, "Have Fun," David
