Thanks Dave, but nah...
Not worth the headaches, plus I only do this stuff when I get inspired...otherwise its no fun.
I really like your stuff Dave, I think its even better than WW. They're stuff is good, but sometimes little uneven. Your texturing is top notch.
Plus your layout skills are great...you didn't take graphic design somewhere did you?
And where the heck did you get that moldy roof texture?...it's just so comic bookish, but it looks perfect.
Anyway, thanks, Shawn

Well I hope you consider it. I totally understand if it seems like a hassle, or that it could stop being fun. I never took any art classes, but I worked for about ten years in a joint that was a combination blueprinting shop and art supplies store. I make my roof textures kind of the way real roofs are tiled. I make a bunch of little tiles and then I lay them down in rows. Then I throw a lot of weathering on top. It takes a long time to do it, which is why I keep using the same few roof styles all the time, and keep changing the colors.

Well, I have to say, Shawn and Dave, you are BOTH brilliant... and as to say that one is better than the other, is like saying MONOPOLY is better than SORRY. They are both FANTASTIC, but serve different purposes...
I, for one, can see a tabletop set up as a port, with models from BOTH of you fine artists gracing the map!
Great job!!
(Thanks for the pics, Squirmydad!)

Great build, Squirmydad Where did you get the Krakan tentacles? They came from...Atlantis! WWG's Atlantis set actually. The Kraken was my favorite piece from that set.

I haven´t purchased this set because I don´t really need the rest of the structures. Now I have to decide whether to spend the $14 just to get the Krakan tentacles. Ah the conundrums of the bourgeois life.

The round shields--what are those from? That's a great idea, mounting them along the side.
I haven't bought Okum's Vikings yet, is there a way to just isolate the shields?

made my first kitbash + cutfile from the instructions posted here - the shields are a hybrid of two pages of art from the Longboat art included in the Mariners Rules for Mage Night. I hate cutting circles, so I was motivated: Here's DaveO's vikings on board:

That's great, what did you end up using for the benches and elevated decks? Just freehand some shapes with the base deck?
I did do a bigger mast for my longship, blew it up as far as it would go onto a single page with Inkscape, it printed out great. Put it on the same mast and rigging with no problem.

I recognize the symbols on the shields! I played MAGE KNIGHT (was a Warlord)for YEARS. Even made it to Nationals. The Atlantis Guild, Elemental League, and so forth! ;D
Clever idea!
If you needed other shields, Mesper (PERMES) ALWAYS includes extras in his sets that you can use to decorate one of these fine watercraft!
Excellent work!
