Here's an old file that I started for an MMIP project, but didn't finish it in time. It's done now though, so I thought I'd post it here. It's a wooden mound fort, suitable for Vikings, Dark Ages, or maybe even a Western setting. dl.dropbox.com/u/15163033/Wooden%20Fort.pdfI've got some more "old stuff" to put up. Some buildings and a couple of viking ships. Hope you like them, Shawn

I have seen your Wooden Fort and it was going time being employed at one for a game with friends, but I could not do it for not having time.
I have looked and it has seemed to me to be good enough. It was going time behind something like that.
A question, are all the parts?
I wait anxious for your vikings ships.

Hey Grendel's Mother! Your giant squid from Showcase #35-Terror of the Deep is still a very popular creation in my house. ;D Nice looking fort too.

Thanks Squirmydad, it's kinda cool to know that someone (other than myself) actually built something I did. The viking ships I did were only in the test build phase. I'd done a couple of builds, but those are long gone (and unfortunately no photos). I reprinted the tests and made a couple up, hopefully I'll share some photos tomorrow...made a few modifications and hoping to get them skinned sometime over the next few days. They're fairly simple builds, kinda like the Jollyboat I did way back, but bigger...and a little quicker to go together. Here's the squid and jollyboat file, if anyone wants to get the general idea...the viking ships should turn out similar...but better (of course!). dl.dropbox.com/u/15163033/Giant_Squid_and_Jollyboat.pdf(btw, there's a longship and a knarr...and I'm thinking it might be fairly simple to shrink and modify one of the longship tests into a faering)

I am doing the Woden Fort and it is remaining brilliant. I thank you for having created it.
On having put the paper minis on the palisade, the palisade remains too big as to be able to be "defended" by the paper minis, since they do not put the heads out and does not seem to be realistic. Some solution to arrange it?

@goas
My original idea was to cut out a window slot at eye level at about every third or fourth stake. Or to cut the odd stake down to make spaces.

Of I agree thank you by the idea. He was thinking to make something similar to what you have said to me but not still like.
On having stamped it I have still had it to a very small scale and the palisade and the doors have remained very limited. I will do something as what you have advised me but what does not change very much the image of the palisade.
A question, the pdf of the ship and the octopus that you have up on the forum of Viking ships, have you created it your? Because I mounted it one month ago and it remains nice enough.

Sorry, I don't have any pics of the fort. I did a test way back when I made it, but it's long gone.
Maybe Goas will post some pics when he's got it made....please...?

I see this model and I wanna draw up some paper Apaches. Then, I'll need some 7th Cavalry.... There is a site I saw that has pics of Fort Richardson, in Texas. Its ruined now, but I'd love to build something like that.

The pics definitely help. (Thanks Goas!) It's clearly perfect as a border fort, iron age-dark age - to early middle ages- or something more recent in history (Texas, *grin*). Also perfect as defences for a village under siege. Nice work.
