Ok, so here goes. I am teaching TOSEL in Thailand and have been for about 5 years now. I looking to try and get some games started with my students to try to get them to "read" more English. When i say read i mean simple words or word associations.
I have a simple directions game set up, and a word associations called Siam Shopping, where the students have fill out shopping list by visiting different shops and ask for the item or answering a question, just a simple D6, pick a card type of game.
i was also thinking of a Zomibe word associations game, where the students pick a card, for example "need a gun" so they have to look on the map at which place may have a gun... a shop (7-11) a police station etc.. then they have to make their way through the streets trying not to be eaten on the way/back.
I was also thinking about a dumb'ed down Hero/Warhammer quest
they are heavily into Dot A and star commander on the PC.
Any ideas are welcome... these students are not top of the rang so nothing complicated
thanks PhantomBaz.

Look at the FLUXX series of games. My seven year old grandson does just fine with them. The idea is that the cards the players lay down are either new rules or objectives, so the rules and objectives needed to win change as you play.
