Hi all, Just thought I would start popping the monthly figure hoard entries up once I have sent them to OneMonk. I know that they are in the hoard thread, so hope the repetition isn't too irritating! September 2008 Hoard Survival Horror mini- MinaThese are the three variants I aim to do for all my Horror figs-clean, bloody and 'infected' (zombie, vampire, werewolf-whichever the particular beastie may be!) October 2008 HoardIn honor of the season, the Teen Slasher Movie set: Hodder, the movie monster man-mountain Jamie, the plucky teen cheerleader who is desperate for a cell signal I had half an eye on these guys being usable in the Survival Horror series I am planning (although Jamie will be needing her clean and infected variants), and may do more 'movie monster' themed stuff for the upcoming hoards

As per usual sexy stuff. It would be great to get a clean and infected versions of Jamie - needed not to be this month. You could easily submit the other versions next month. Love the knocked knees on the lass.

Its hard to choose what genre you might want to choose with all the different styles and miniatures available.
Its great that as long as the scale is right all miniatures are compatable.

Thanks for the kind words folks!
I will see what I can come up with, and will have a play around with Mina a little (outfits, weapons etc) when I get a chance.
Glad everyone is liking the stuff!

Hi folks! Man, this month has been hectic! What with re-modelling the kitchen (and the associated house of chaos!)and organising my honeymoon November went by in a blur! Anyhow, did manage to get a little something together for the November Monthly Figure Hoard, so here it is: Dr Price, Monster Hunter!Zombies, Vampires, Bigfoot, Jersey Devil-you name it, he'll hunt it! I tried a new inking technique, and I think I dig the way it came out, so I may tweak up some of the other designs to match! IF I ever get the time-honeymoon is only a 2 weeks away (YAY!!!)

Wow! He is awesome!!! The coloring is great! I could also picture the same character with a rosary in his left hand and a worn priest's collar instead of the scarf. Then he would have to be Father Price... This of course is my imagination getting away with me.
What a great entry! I really like the way the scale of his feet make him seem super tall. I'm really impressed! Nicely done! -WaffleM

Oh just quickly;
The backpack's lid face.... a little too flat. Nothing wrong with it but would be great to see a logo (maybe a tiny OneMonk) or some texturing upon it. As it is totally fine, just running my eye's over the image (an I know that the post is bigger than scale) that spot catches my eye.

Maybe a strap and a buckle?
Yeah, Adam... AWESOME new coloring technique! Are you planning a bloody and zombieified version of this guy as well?
I'd really like to see your previous releases done with this new technique too!

PS: You haven't gone on your honeymoon yet?!? Where are you going?

Hey all!
Thanks WaffleM for the kind words! I had a bunch of guys I used in a comic book I did about 10 years ago called the Kung Fu Priest Squad-maybe worth dusting down if there's some interest... And thanks to Abaddon and onemonkeybeau too-cheers guys, glad you like it!
I'm thinking that once I get back I will spend a little time re-doing the other designs in the new technique-it's a little more involved than a straight re-colour, as I have pretty much completely dispensed with inks on this guy, but I think it will be well worth it. I hadn't planned on a zombie variant, but as there seems to be the interest I will try and make the 3 versions standard for all my (suitable) human figs-let's get that undead hoard shuffling forward!
Thanks too for the backpack comments-man, that thing was the bane of my life! Zips, pockets, logos, garlic-tried 'em all and just couldn't get it to look right! Will have another crack when I do the zombie version and see if I can come up with something that works and doesn't give me an ulcer!!
I am away from the 14th until New Year, so may not make the Hoard this month. We are heading to Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Miami, so it's a pretty hectic tour (hey, what in my life isn't hectic?) but will be well worth it! Me and the missus are VERY excited!

Phew! Seems like forever since I updated here! Well, I have uploaded my image for the February 09 Hoard on that thread, but for completeness sake here it is too: The books aren't so sure of their alien nature, but the film and TV show which made such a lasting impression on me suggested they were! This is my first crack at a non-humanoid fig and I am fairly pleased with the results

In the TV show the triffids were engineered and farmed for their oil long before the meteor storm that blinded everyone. That's how Bill knows so much about them (same as the book), he works with Triffids. He isn't blinded because he had been stung at work and was in hospital recovering. The movie with Howard Keel has them arriving on the meteorites, I can't remember why he wasn't blinded. But the movie triffids are definately aliens. Have you read Night of the Triffids?, it's a follow up (not by Wyndham) and it's actually pretty good. I love your triffid, it's definately going in my MADRG gang There aren't many mutant plant models available and most of those are humaniod. (Fairly rare in the game).

Neat - very neat indeed. The stinger looks very nasty and I love the foliage at the top of the "stump" just under the neck of the flower.
30mm base?

Oh, it happens to the best of us. Frequently. Sort of like when you have to look at your watch twice because for some reason the first time you looked you didn't actually register what the time was...

Hey folks! Here is the entry for the March 2009 Hoard: I really got into this one, and if I ever manage to get any sets finished(!) I wouldn't mind taking a shot at more League of Extraordinary Gentleman type re-imaginings of other characters. Hope you like 'em!

Hey all! After what seems like an eternity of coloring, here is my entry for the April 2009 Hoard: I am really pleased with how this turned out, even if the Screamers were left in development hell until the last minute! I see Edvard as a kind of shambling menace, directing his 'children' (the Screamers-bio mechanoid familiars he creates from melding the heads of his victims with forbidden nano technologies and scrap metal) through eerie lullaby's from his speaker. Kinda dug this one!

I'm halfway through the rules for MADRG for him...... those screamers are superb, perfect to represent the results of a model slain by a nano-swarm and ressurected as a hideous conglomerate. I'm writing the technomancer as a creature that develops almost as a warband of its own. Travelling the land and 'converting' disciples to follow the one true machine god. I'm picturing some sort of hideous roiling pit filled with billions of nanaswarms and unrecognisable chunks of biological material.
