Just a question I thought I'd throw out there. I'd probably do it on IRC if there was interest. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions.

Mh.... given the nature of this place i'd see better a "shoutbox", always visible in a side column, than a "real chat". Sure, having it handy for some "quick tech help" in realtime, or just to say some joke could be nice. But, local time apart, i'd skip a "formal chat moment" if i've nothing to say

A IRC would probably be best, then people can connect on there phones even when they are not at a comp. and it can just be running all the time for anyone to jump on and chat. Just my opinion...
Oh and hi I'm new.

well we are from all over the world and time zones so not sure an official time will allow everyone to chat.
I agree with a permanent IRC running so that who ever is online can chat with who ever else is online...

I like this idea: A IRC would probably be best, then people can connect on there phones even when they are not at a comp. and it can just be running all the time for anyone to jump on and chat. Just my opinion... Oh and hi I'm new. Welcome!
If the site adds an IRC thing, bear in mind that a lot of people don't know how to use it. I know it's really easy, but it always helps to make it as simple as possible with clear instructions.

Yeah, I figured a set time might not always work for some with our world-wide audience. I just thought if we did set a time I would at least try to be there and we could treat it as a "come if you like" internet party (I'd invite ya'll over to my house instead if I could). I just didn't want to wait around if no one was really interested. P.S. Welcome to the forum Ellmo
