It was supposed to be the fearsome transportation of Unga Khan's Volkites (automaton troops) but every scene the camera cuts away just before the Volkites are about to enter the vehicle as the costumes are obviously too large and unwieldy to get in, or bend for that matter.
The wiki section on technology in this series is very amusing. I was thinking about this series the other day and was surprised that I couldn't find a papermodel available for the Juggernaut, so I decided to make an early Christmas present.

If you look at that shot I posted, the thing looks like half-of a devilled egg cut long-wise. Shiny at the bottom, darker at the top. Looking at your front-on view, the darker part looks almost like a louvered/slotted grill treatment. Looking at the front-on view, instead of egg-shaped, I think it may be shield-shaped with the slots going down near the bottom ending at a shinier plate at the bottom.
There are no strangers in this world,only people I haven't embarrassed ... yet!

I updated the pdf's with some missing flaps and with a cut guide on top of the cabin....which I think I'll redo in something more subtle for those who want to drive fin-less. Have to work tonight though so that's a tomorrow dealie.
Thanks Steve, but I just found this in a local discount bin;

Vermin King: Really worn out tonight, so when I'm like that I just look for things I used to have, but don't any more. I got the Zippy models and am rebuilding my Tirick/TCF Gaming folder. How the heck would anyone build his 1/1000 Battletech mechs without enlarging

Toman: yea I have been. pretty cool project. I've done a few scratch builds like that but not as large. cutting individual stones or carving stones in foam sucks.

Vermin King: Anybody else following Mauther's home-made Playmobile castle build? Looks really good so far

cowboyleland: Good point. Maybe make the wing feathers seperately so that the wind could get through them?

squirmydad: We had two operators for the hawk though, one to carry the weight and the other to flap the wings.

squirmydad: Probably silk and dowels. I assisted in the construction of a giant hawk puppet for an indoor show, probably about the same size as that pegasus.

Vermin King: It's got to be really light. The article dealt with parade puppets. I don't think I'd want to be trying to control that in a stiff wind

shep: Will it fly, if you move the wings fast enough?
