The story of the Landship Reinhold.
After the demise of the Martian invasion Hans Joachim Reinhold Radtke found himself to be an admiral with no fleet left to command. He was re-assigned to the new steam-powered ground forces division and tasked with designing a new fleet of land ironclads. His first creations were the heavy Reinhold series which, despite numerous protests from subordinates, were designed with broadside cannons in fixed mounts. The former Ddmiral, now Feldmarshal Radtke, had a vision of sailing through squadrons of Martian war-machines and shooting the legs out from under them. He was able to test out this premise when the first Reinholds ran afoul of a Zulu raiding party equipped with salvaged Martian walkers. The few officers and crew who survived their landships being cut in half by heat rays attested to the glaring lack of maneuverability of the Reinhold class landship. Later models had their fixed guns replaced by sponsons and were relegated to the mobile fortress support division. All models maintained the flying bridge design, despite the proximity of the exhaust stacks, as Feldmarshal Radtke insisted that the height gave an advantage in spotting fish enemy movements.
