I am getting ready to put together the ERA OF WAR core rules boxed set, and will include an entirely new army. There are going to many extras, and such. You can vote for three of the above options, and if you choose "Other," then please specificaly what you would like to see. I will honestly say that the more things that get added will affect the price of the overall release. Some things are already accounted for on here, but I want to make sure that when this comes out people won't say, "I wish it had this, or didn't have that..." Let me know.

1) Well, there are about 50 figures (Extra figures -- CHECK!) 2) More vehicles -- There is a re-colored CAMEL, and a new Walker (CHECK!) 3) Terrain -- There is an Acid Pool, Small Pond, Light Woods, and some low wall terrain (both 2D and 3D versions). 4) Box -- I am working on that, but it is a low priority at this point. It WILL have one, but it will be the last thing. The back will have a Quick Reference Guide that can also be printed out separately for each player. 5) Dice Tower -- I re-drew an outline of the original one I did a couple years ago, but I used Paper Make It's SHUFFLER to do it in. I will have to use my own texture (or release it separately with PMI). We shall see how this "UNFOLDS" so to speak! Having this done by Christmas is a little ambitious even for me. But if it has to wait a little while, then it will be worth it. I want everything top be as close to what I imagined nearly 20 years ago when I started this. We are on the right path, for sure. Reference sheet on the box is a great idea.

Thanks. Well the figures are through the roof, and there are a LOT of (about a half a dozen, or so) vehicles. Here is the line art for the cover. I am going to color it. I chose these weapnos because it shows modern, melee, and magic. People can tell it uses multi-genreal (if that is a word) weapons and armies. Fantasy, Modern, Post-Apocalyptic, Sci-Fi and so forth... Any thoughts or feedback? Let me know. EDIT: I posted this on Facebook, but a friend suggested I remove it in light of recent events. I hope this doesn't offend the three people that actually read my stuff, but this was just the cover of a Wargame Rulebook. Attachments:

Hey Killa, I think you have all your bases covered but it doens't really say "post apochalyptic" to me. You might have to add a radiation or bio-hazard symbol in the background to get that across. Or maybe you don't really need it.

I agree. I just used that as an example that people could see the game isn't JUST modern day, Sci-Fi or Zombie-palooza. (Not that there is anything wrong with those).
If people know me, then they will say, I really like "..." and would love to have them fight "..." and it will work.
I played last week, my Midian Knights against Dave Okum's Plains Nations. I thought the Projection cannons and Undead getting Necroed would kill the game for the Native Americans. As it were, it was only when the Skeletons got into close combat did they pose a threat. The Natives were like snipers picking apart the threats, and they were FAST due to their limited armor.
A squad of the "Elk Hunters" (IIRC) took out three of the Necromancers at ONE foul swoop. My Winged Necromancer (the Centaur with Zebra legs and Dragon Wings) was the only one that had a chance to Necro anything. She also healed the Dracotaur (which was badly wounded) in ONE turn. She managed to get the MVP Award for the game.
It was AWESOME! (I have pictures). ;D

A quick update... I am *trying* to get all of this done before Christmas, which is only a week away. This project has been a tremendous undertaking, and it has been VERY frustrating. I compare this to how Dave Okum must have felt when he was doing his Beast and Barbarian set... [shutters]. Any way, a few things to share. The new set WILL have a CAMEL, and it will come in three colors: Arctic Camo, Desert Camo and Stealth (Black). These are all new mods, so the one that was released separately is still it's own model. I will be releasing other versions of it with other army sets in the future. I have over 30 mods I have played with including Olive Drab and Forset Camo. That is it for now... Attachments:

Aside from the CAMEL, there will also be the K'VYK WAR WALKER (still considering changing the name of it). It comes in the same three colors as the Camel FAAV, and naturally comes in both 2D and 3D versions. Ok... Off to work... Attachments:

The K'VYK (Pronounced "KIV-vick") DOMIONION have three common camo schemes. They use these on their CAMELs, War Walkers and even their Grav Bikes. Here is the ARCTIC SQUAD... Attachments:

...and here is the Stealth Team. I will try to get the Desert Squad posted tonight. One of the good things about this set that I didn't do in the past is, the figures are all unique. I used to have ONE figure, nad you would print them out 6 times to build a squad. Now you print out the FULL squads as you choose. There are MANY weapon options that you can mix and match. For instance, the Grav Bikes have either a Projection Rifle or Laser Rifle mounted on them, so you can decide if you want a squad of three with ALL projection rifles, laser rifles or a mix of both. There are 6 bikes per page (3 laser/ 3 projection) and a page of each: Stealth, Desert and Arctic. The set will be huge, but for the first time in one of my releases, you will have the ability to custom build your army using just the pieces you want. Not only THAT, but you have THREE options of Fast Assult troops: Camel, Grav Bikes and Jump Troops. LET THE CARNAGE BEGIN! Attachments:

The K'VYK have something new... a GUNNER for the back of the Camel! There are three Fast Assault choices: Grav Bikes, Camels and Jump Troops! Plus I laid out the four commanders... Very cool! Attachments:

Here are the Commanders... As you can see, there are two "Basic" Commanders (one with a Laser Pistol, and one with a Projection Pistol) and they both have a Thunder Baton. There is EMPRESS HARIKO with a Cyber-Claw and a Thunder Baton, and KUR'GYF with two Lightning Swords and Jump Pack. The sysmbols on their left breastplate show rank. The more, the higher rank. The only person with more tines on their crest is Hariko's father, the EMPEROR! Let me know what you think... Attachments:

I'm glad you approve... Actually, her breastplate armor is smaller than the other males in her army. I actually had to add to her "skirt." When I went to color her, I noticed it was ... "lacking." I had three figures to draw to "finish" the figures in the set, and I did those yesterday... actually, they were done on a whim. They were Hariko and the Camel Gunners. The set REALLY looks great to me, and I am glad I added them. I now have over 70 images to layout (inlcuding fronts and backs). This set is already 24 pages WITHOUT "fluff." I will have the Core Rulebook as a separate PDF but they will be released together (unless I change my mind and release the K'VYK army first... I tend to be flighty, and change my mind a lot). All things considered, this set has taught me patience, and I am learning that if I take my time, I can get freakin' awesome results. Ok.. I have got to get the ELITES and the CORE units laid out and then the figures will be DONE! Yippee! (Yes, there are going to be over 30 Core figres alone... that is nearly TWICE the size of my standard set. There will be MANY weapon configurations, and I hope I don't decide to add flame-throwers... that could make this set hit the 30 page mark).

to my computer corrupting my MASTER file, and my back-ups, I lost ALL of my work on this. I spent about 8 hours a day for the last month drawing, taking pictures and writing. It is all gone! I had a dropbox account, but I was doing som consultation for another company, and he filled my dropbox with HIS work. I couldn't even attach files or anything.... I did manage to finish my K'Vyk army, but I was hoping to release it with ERA OF WAR. I am very discouraged and frustrated at the moment. Not much more to say.

Not good and sorry to hear it. I'm assuming this is the doc file for era of war rules and not the army minis as well? You might be able to salvage the text content by opening the doc with a plain text editor -- right click>>open with and select a plain text editor. then scroll down past all the mumbo jumbo at the top till you start to see plain text, you'll lose all formatting and the images but at least you might be able to salvage some of rules text depending on the type and level of corruption.

I think my computer is on its way out... I have burned up 5 computers in three years. This one cost me $200 and it has lasted me a year. I plan on getting some debt paid off and then getting a new one... and when I say "new" I mean one out of the box, never used.... NEW! Until then, I will continue limping alone with this. I honestly believe that the file was too big and my computer couldn't handle it. Spreadsheets aren't intended to be over 30 pages long. I noticed that when I hit page 32, all of the text boxes converted to what looked like "encryption." Just junk, really. I plan on cutting some "fat" and making it more of a bare-bones rulebook (similar to the ones that Dave Okum does, and less like a GW rulebook with histories, full of images and pages and pages of self-promotion). So, the project isn't ... it is just at the moment. Thanks for your support and encouragement. As I was working on this, I was reminded about just how GREAT this game is. What is even cooler (not that I will mention this in the rules) is that since I lay everything out in a general format, you can use your own figures and models in ERA OF WAR and even use that nasty plastic stuff!

I appreciate it... but the K'Vyk files are fine. It was the rulebook that died. I am starting over... I already have the pictures and many aspects still on the computer. I really only lost ALL of the text. That is fine. I decided to do a different format, and it may work out better. I did come up with this cover this morning (I had the image drawn, just needed some finishing touches). Attachments:

Well, by "trimming the fat" and eliminating a lot of unnecessary text, I am just about where I was before I lost my files. Making LOTS of back-ups and making MORE progress! I would say that I should be able to STILL get this releases within a week... I may have to change the Copyright date from 2012 to 2013!

THANKS! I made a game called, "KILADECUS: The Balance of Power" 13 years ago, but that was before I found out about papercraft.
I sold one copy (to my best friend out of pity), and now I have the new re-vamped game out there.
If anyone gets it, feel free to contact me with questions and feedback!
;D
EDIT: I ended up not doing a "box" at this time. I wanted to get this out there, and I may do one down the road and attach it to the other files. Once you download it, you can always get the box *when* it is released.
