The theme for this months HOARD is Real World Armies - Across History This can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category.

EDIT: Didn't noticed Sirrob's post with list of links / suggestions - obviously I'm still not recovered after catching cold
So hmm... following cavalryman idea is rather not valid I'm afraid? If so, as I'm not quite being keen towards I/IIWW period figurines so instead perhaps some Romans or Knights would be fine for me.---------- C'mon Kila - are you reading in my mind or what? =>>> Actually RIGHT NOW I'm finishing Alexander The Great and Macedonians Set (there will be most probably 2 standalone sets with foot infantry and cavalry, as just foot infantry alone already took 7 pages!) ;D Unfortunately I catch cold and was little ill during couple last days thus was avoiding computer as much as possible - so this set (and other projects) is delayed, but it should be ready soon... so stay tuned! Regarding Historical HoardActually I got another idea - I'd like to submit some specific Polish cavalryman figurines - I'm thinking of Napoleonic Era Old Guard Chasseur (or perhaps Vistula Lancer = Uhlan?) or Winged Hussar: But with some minor changes, new textures and colors plus some optional accessories (especially for Hussars - 2.5D wings!), still not decided yet.

Hoard themes are only a suggestion. There is nothing wrong with doing a soldier or two and all of your samples look awesome (as usual!)

I woke up around 4:00 with this idea in my mind. I found this image on-line, and think I can convert this to the KILADECUS MOTORWORKS style. IF I can do this, it would fit in this Hoard, right? Anyone interested in this? [EDIT] If I attempt this, it will be "close," but not perfect. So, you can say it is an Apache, but it won't be a "perfect"Apache... Just a disclaimer in case anyone comes back and says, "You did this wrong, or missed this..." Attachments:

I can see this translated to your Motorworks style, Dave, but it is gonna be big ...
Looking forward to seeing your take on the Apache

I was going to try to crank this out this week, but I was just contacted by someone I was doing advisory work before the Holidays... Apparently, I was supposed to do MORE than advise him... SO, NOW, I have my stuff, and stuff for about four other people to wrap up BEFORE I can do this... Feel free if anyone wants to beat me to the punch with this one...

I like Sirrob01's suggestions and I agree with cowboyleland. Only soldier or two are fairly. Your polish winged hussars are wonderful and I think that they (and your cossacks, plus other XVI-XVII century figures, Swedish Janissaries ... ) are a great subject for a whole series of paper miniatures' sets. Personally I have a strong preference concerning the Thirty Years' War and I believe that this historical period is not fully appreciated by the players ... So this could be another great theme for the hoard but especially for new paper minis series. Even the tactics military formations that have made the world's military history are a great subject imho. Macedonian phalanx, roman legion, spanish tercio ( almost unknown, but it dominated the european battlefields for nearly two hundred years, and it is the first modern military formation ) ... Or historical events/periods and/or military groups not well known ... ( Vendeen Wars ... or [edit] any other historical period or military formation little known... )

Just a little explanation.
About my previous edit.
I used an example that offends, hurts and saddens people who know.
This was not my intention. I didn't know well the subject. My historical ignorance and my shallowness caused my mistake.
Now I have edited and I apologize, really, with all readers for the sorrow that I have caused.

It's February so I'm starting my Forum Hoard project; It's the Brazilian Urutu apc that I designed at Hackbarth's request some time back. I'll be doing this up with simple detailing and easy texturing in olive drab, camo, and UN white. I still need to design an MG mount and missile launcher. I'll start a development thread in my own area once I make some more progress.

Wow, just wow...
I got the geometry of the Urutu from you some time back, but after a few tries I saw that I was not ready for texturing something like this.
Now seeing the white build, I know it'll be awesome!

Five years later...I decided to post my re-surgent progress with this model in an effort to keep myself on track and potentially complete it. The model is four pages and all of the color schemes are complete; tan, white, dark green, grey, urban camo, woodland camo, and two desert camo schemes. I'm working on the photo build instructions, slowly, and the turret for the Cascavel version still needs some detail. This model is unfortunately associated with a number of very painful life events and every time I've pulled it out to work on it something serious has gone awry for me. I'm hoping I can sneak it across the finish line before life notices I'm working on it again.

Working on building the wheels...six wheels per vehicle...two vehicles for the photos (Urutu and Cascavel), I've always disliked making 3d wheels, very time consuming.

Only five and half years late to the battlefield, it's Forum Horde #106 Real World Armies! Since the only entry for this lost Horde is my Urutu I decided to create some variety and there are nine different color variations plus three with Iraq, Brazil, and UN markings. onemonk.com/fh-2013.html

Update -> I changed the download set up so that you can download the individual schemes...individually...instead of one massive 80mb download of everything.
