...grrr..sniff...growhg...
Yeah, yea... all these Humans, Dvarwes, Elves - forest, dark, mountain or silvermine... nice looking ones... well some kinda even tasty ones... slurp, grrr... never mind!
But... everyone loves these creatures!...
And we, we who are The Only One Guardians of Fantasy Worlds (well, there are also Trolls and our minor brothers Kobolds around), we, who are ALWAYS here, we are constantly underestimated and treated as villains...
Grrr... hurts! Makes us raging!
GROWRRR... ENOUGH!!!
Grrr... revenge... will... be... OURS... Soon, really soon!!!
FOR THE ORCS... grrowrrr...!!!
Southern, Northern, Desert, Deepmine... Orkish Tribes together... We will SMASH the heroes, mages, witches, paladins... After so may years WE... SHALL... TAKE REVENGE!
RISE OF ORCS!!!

"jazz-ka-ZUR-zee"!
Is my Indiana accent coming through?
I think I would use my jazz-ka-ZUR-zees as heavy orc cavalry, and goblin archers mounted on unarmored wolves as light missile cavalry in an orc army!
Thanks!
YES! My dreams are coming TRUE!
Have fun! Steve

I really like these orcs too though. I had a hard time deciding what style to go with, so it's great to see a variety available. Nice work on these orcs! ;D

I really like these orcs too though... Nice work on these orcs! ;D Thanks, Labrat - that's a real compliment coming from you! Actually these orcs are one of my first attempts ca. mid-late '90 (well, excluding mounted one and the front big one - these two are quite "fresh" dated 2004). Therefore I figured that it would be kinda funny to bring these old minis back to life - but with brand new textures, coloring, light effects etc. then with new banners, weapons and other accessories - kinda orkish revival?

Scaling the Orcs - your help needed! Obviously, as shown below proper scaling is not that easy... So... should these Orkish warriors be: A) taller (they are already bolder) than the average human body B) kinda same size? C) or perhaps lower/smaller? Actually that's not irrelevant questions because besides footman Orkish warriors there are also some mounted Orcs following (Gorrack Lizard Riders) etc. so I'd like to scale these adequately.

Ooohh nice orcs!
About scaling, assuming that an average human hero could be 1.80m, i'd take the option A making an average ork around 2m. (with "hero" i mean what we usually read in book or see in movies about heroes. "Normal" humans - the NPCs - average height perhaps is around 1.70 or lower)
That's just my envision, though.

I actually think that your orcs are bulky enough that they could stand to loose a little in height. Your "option A" is reading close to ogre size to my eye.
I guess I always think about early D&D where orcs are man sized or so and have the same hit points as a first or second level character.
I would pick size "B" for such purposes but your fantasy may vary.

The orc model for comparison seems a little hunched forward to me. This way we cant really compare it to the human models.

The orc model for comparison seems a little hunched forward to me. That's right, he is. Actually - I can provide 2 "sizes". Thing is that I really do hate making borders/outlines - even if I got whole process automated (custom Photoshop Action) but then almost each time I started to modify these outlines... can't resist and as a result it turns into quite time consuming and... boooring task. But there is an another one thing (didn't mention it before - my bad!) I'm planning 2 (or even 3 perhaps?) totally DIFFERENT ORKISH TRIBES!1. These "hunched" ones are... more grim, wild, barbarian (can there be "barbarian Orcs"?!?) - So these are rather HUGE ones. I'd like to call these "Mountain Orc Clan" or "Tribes of North" - not sure though. How does it sounds? Any other ideas perhaps?. 2. Then there will be "Tribes of South (or East?)" - with more human-like postures and proportions. BTW you can see some of these on a preview on opening post and later (these kneeling on Orc's revival). These Orcs are kinda more civilized (?!? plus equipped and armed with some influence of an semi oriental-style. Thing is that I'd like to avoid putting all these Ors's into one basket (set) as they differ stylistically. In fact "south tribes" are ca.15 years old drawings - so you can imagine the gap in-between:))) Still after some "tuning" and brand new coloring I do believe that it might result with very decent set. Well - you can get some feeling and make your own judgement based on previews. 3. Then there should be some mounted orcs - not sure if as standalone set or as addendum to one of mentioned sets. ----- BTW: I'm pretty sure that I've already posted FREE mini-set with "SPACE ORCS" - these are based on "hunched" Fantasy Orcs - but somehow I just can't find and link to this post...?
So sorry if spamming - here's another one link:www.kartonowefigurki.pl/cwf/permes-kfdfree02.pdfI'll probably enhance this mini-set and include it into one of Fantasy sets as a bonus.

Thanks, Parduz! It's a compliment hearing this from you:) And yes, I fully agree that a HERO should be somewhat taller / bigger compared average commoner. Your "option A" is reading close to ogre size to my eye. Oh, I got some OGREISH plans: Or I should rather say that it *was* my plan... as it seems that whole folder with coloured Ogres disappeared from both working hard drive and NAS /facepalm/... I'll try to recover these figurines from other backups, but you know how it's with backups when these are really needed... So maybe I'll have to recolor them from scratch, grunt! Add to this that I promised Rhannon these Ogres as 60mm scale paper figurines (within Single-page Series - BTW I'm sorry for being so late!). Well, my bad.

My two cents worth...
I LOVE the originality of your Orcs. I would say that the first one (30mm) is perfect.
Yes, they are a little larger/bulkier than other orcs, but let's face it... they are completely unique, and I think they look great.
You have your own "take" on them. What I consider an "elf" may be different than someone else's idea of the word "elf."
I love Labrat's Orcs, but that doesn't mean I don't like yours because they are the same. It means I just have two styles of Orcs to love.
Besides, yours could be the elite version to his which are the standard version.
And as far as Sci-Fi Orcs go... ohpleaseohpleaseohpleaseohplease...
That is my thoughts.

kiladecusThanks I'm still working on these orcs and most probably I'll prepare both A and B size versions (at least for basic figurines). Right now I'm toying with various flags/banners and orc-styled shields and weapons... dunno however - right direction here?
