@steve - Thanks! I'm planning at least couple more Ancient Warriors 30mm sets, including Greek Heroes, Egyptians but then Imperium Romanum AND Roman Empire opponents (Gauls, Goths, Sarmats and Carthaginians of course:) are possile as a separate sub-series. However as I can see fantasy, Horror/Survival and Sci-Fi are dominating paper figurines scene - so probably I'll have to extend these releases in time, so you know, two-three "core"sets and one historical etc. Well what can I do? Anyway - most important thing for me is that these sets and figurines are enjoyable and brings some smile and fun!

One of the things I've wanted to do for a long time is a miniatures campaign based on AD 69, the year of the four emperors.
After Nero committed suicide in AD 68, Galba became emperor. At the beginning of January, 69, instead of swearing allegiance to Galba, the legions in Germany swore allegience to Vitellius and marched on Rome.
Meanwhile, in the Eternal City, Otho bribed the Praetorian Guard to kill Galba and declare himself, Otho, as emperor.
Vitellius, leading legions who had "gone native" while in Germany, and were wearing plaid trousers, marched down into Italy and beat Otho's troops at the First Battle of Bedriacum (or Cremona) in the middle of April. Otho's troops included contingents of Roman marines from Ravenna, the Praetorian Guard, who were high class, pretty-boy "fortunate sons" who didn't really have go off to war, and gladiators, all brigaded together. Otho committed suicide.
Vitellius was financing his "reign" by making people name him as heir to their fortunes, then having them killed.
Now the grizzled eastern legions, taking a break from the Jewish revolt, were marching on Rome under Vespasian. There was a Second Battle of Bedriacum in late October. This second battle had many of the same troops who had fought in the first, along with some other legions who hadn't arrived in time for that battle. The starting line ups had been mixed and matched for a number of reasons. The second battle was fought throughout the night, a rarity in antiquity, and tipped when the eastern troops turned to greet the Sun at sunrise, a custom they had picked up in the east. The western troops of Vitellius thought they were greeting reinforcements!
So you see, the campaign would call for Roman legions in plaid trousers, fancy-pants Praetorian Guards, gladiators and marines, as well as tough old legionnaire veterans!
Don't worry though! I don't expect you to drop everything else to crank out these figures ;D
Have fun! Steve
